  1. That’s a remarkably close division. I do not understand what the computers see in Saint Louis, though.
  2. You’ll recall Counsell went 0-45 over a two month stretch that year. https://archive.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/126991728.html
  3. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/HOU/HOU201108070.shtml Fifth game box score

  5. Certainly, athletes can squander money or be victimized. Conceivably, Ohtani is singularly focused on baseball and lacks financial acumen. Objectively, the speed of this investigation is unusual. Questionably, Ohtani never gave Mizuhara control of his accounts, per affidavit. Next sentence, Ohtani tacitly allowed Mizuhara total veto power of visibility to his accounts. 🤷‍♂️ Ohtani’s salary was deposited in that account, though he never gave Mizuhara -- whom Estrada said was “acting as Mr. Ohtani’s de facto manager” -- control over any of his financial accounts, according to the affidavit. “Mizuhara refused to give access to the account to the rest of Ohtani’s other professional advisors including his agent, accountant and financial advisor, telling them Ohtani wanted to keep that account private,” Estrada said. https://www.mlb.com/news/ippei-mizuhara-charged-with-bank-fraud-in-criminal-complaint
  6. It seems like more of a conspiracy to say ‘nothing to see here’ than a skepticism that there probably is information not being reported.
  7. MLB almost certainly has lobbyists.
  8. It would be impolite to openly say you are purposely manipulating service time. At the same time, it is a perfectly understandable strategy.
  9. If tickets remain unsold, they will lower the prices either this year or possibly for next year. I also assume cost inflation affects Major League Baseball teams on some levels, too.
  10. Can’t be worse than his ML debut when we still won?
  11. It is interesting speculation by the Brewers. Maybe they are losing money on parking this year?
  12. Since no one is required to attend a Brewers game, there really are no victims or impropriety. People decide whether the price of a ticket is worth it to them or not. There are many ways to lock in a price of a ticket for the season using 10 or 20 game packages. Or, buying single games far in advance. There are almost always affordable ways to attend a game. Dynamic ticket pricing is a terrific idea.
  13. I believe the 6 refers to getting six of nine correct,
  14. Pirates had bases loaded and nobody out in the 10th inning against Orioles. Rowdy Tellez pops out on first pitch. Then groundout and strikeout. Inning over. Tellez did have three hits and a walk on the day.
  15. Hoskins probably does not play 150+ games in 2024.
  16. NL Central is only division with every team having positive run differential.
  17. Best winning percentage in National League! Second best in MLB.
  18. We seem to have good team chemistry. Maybe Clevinger ruins that?
  19. He is noticeably critical of Chourio. I’m sure he has positive intentions.
  20. App hasn’t worked today. Most staff are saying ‘don’t worry about it’ for today
  21. Looks like Kepler, Correa, Buxton and Santana have each had success against Junis. I’m excited to see how Jacob pitches today.
