  1. My guess is Ned needs a medical procedure performed that will leave him out of the dugout for an extended period of time.
  2. Yost is certifiably crazy ... actually this makes sense. Vargas had his spot skipped in the rotation this time around.
  3. And the Royals swept the Yankees last year. Anything can happen in a 3-game series. Go Brewers! Don't give up ... yet!
  4. Can't the Brewers win a game at a decent hour of the night?
  5. Ya' think so? I wish Yost, Maddux, and/or Melvin had your insight.
  6. Ya' think so? I wish Yost, Maddux, and/or Melvin had your insight.
  7. We have to pinch-hit for Jenkins when tough lefties are on the mound. Jenkins is not as good as Mench in such situations. Let's manage winning baseball, Ned! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  8. Dumb and unappreciative people harassing Brady Clark ... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Brady Clark came to the ballpark every day and gave his all. Don't forget this guy was absolutely wonderful and clutch for the whole season in 2005 when we actually had a non-losing season. Clark was one of the top hitters in the NL that season, in terms of just getting hits (300-plus hitter). People giving Clark a hard time reflect negatively on fans, in general, and Brewer fans in particular.
  9. The Cardinals got lucky ... they got to play the Brewers. I hope the Cardinals at least send Mark Attanasio a 'thank-you' card from time-to-time.
  10. I guess I'm still not understanding. If runners are on 1st and 2nd and a groundball is hit to the 3rd baseman with one out. The 3rd baseman can step on the bag at 3rd and fire to either 2nd or 1st for another forceout. The first out (which was a forceout) didn't make the 2nd out anything other than a forceout, too. Perhaps, you can clear this up for me by explaining what "ahead of the force" means. I'm thinking I'm understanding possibly as I type this, but I'm not sure. Thank you.
  11. OK, I guess I'm still confused about that last play ... 2 questions for me to anyone who knows baseball rules better than I do: 1) Cirillo tagged 1st base on the grounder with the bases loaded ... okay, but don't the runners all have to still run on that play thereby making the play at home a force play? Why does making the throw to home after tagging first make the play at home a tag play as opposed to what would be a force play at home had Cirillo not tagged first base. The runner on 3rd had to run, regardless, didn't he? 2) Could Cirillo have tagged the runner on first after tagging the first base bag and completed the double play? The runner on first never vacated the area with just a few feet of first base. He was literally standing next to Cirillo after Cirillo stood up upon tagging the first base bag with his glove/ball. Bizarre ending to say the least.
  12. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  13. It happens to playoff contenders all the time. At least, we were no-hit by some big-time pitchers. Finally, we saved our bats for Dontrelle Willis tomorrow. That's my positive spin. Hope it helps others. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. Went to the game tonight myself with my wife and 3 children (the first game we've attended in person this season). 2 of my children are boys are huge Brewers fans. I asked my 12 year old boy if he would like to go back tomorrow after tonight's game. He said, "No." It was a "dog" of a performance, again, for the Brewers. I wouldn't go back myself for awhile even if I had free tickets. This team just doesn't have it. The lineup without Carlos Lee stuck in the middle of it is really unimpressive. Sheets, by the way, was obviously low on velocity during the game. David Bell was the most impressive player on the team tonight. Blah, blah, blah ... won't be back to Miller Park anytime soon, though.
  15. Go Brewers! Keep beating on the Cubbies! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. The changes he's looking to make have little to do with fielding a high quality/deep/expensive lineup.
  17. Huh? Gwynn is a better batsman than Gross. He's a far better centerfielder, too.
  18. Jorge De La Rosa would have made only 1 out in the 9th inning ....
  19. He was there. They showed him on TV clapping after the ground out and smiling.
  20. I think we have to not blame Doug Melvin, but the guy who determines team payroll. You get what you pay for. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  21. Who's available at the end of the season? I don't have a handy list of that right now. Surely, there will be guys on that list who could supplant some of our current roster and make the team better. If we have the will to get better, let's do it! I can spend far less eating at McDonald's when eating out ... the quality just ain't that good, though.
  22. Because temporary blips do occur. I can roll two dice and total 12 occasionally. It's not typical, though. Same way with low payroll teams. Surely, the team payroll listing displays that the better teams/perennial winners by and large have a more pricey payroll. This cannot be denied. The season is far from over (it's not even the halfway point). The Reds will cool off. The Angels will rise --- injuries have plagued the Cubs so that point is pretty moot .... throwing money around doesn't guarantee success, certainly ... it only enhances the likelihood of success. Not spending the necessary cash guarantees failure more often than not, also. Would you rather Attanasio spend more or less on the Brewers team? Simple question ... we all know the answer. Spend more ... give us a better chance of being a winner ... duhhh .... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. You raise payroll by signing stars on the free agent market ... just like the perennial winners do.
  24. Raising the payroll is necessary to win in the MLB ... if you guys cannot see that, your heads are in the sand. The 2006 payroll by team listing is most telling! Cards fans are having fun at our minor league team's expense again tonight .... Scott Rolen just clouts one out .... Cards fans having a great time .... Rolen is pretty cheap, I bet. Maybe, he would like to come to Milwaukee.
