    We would have literally have to give up the farm to get one of the elite arms out there and I don't think that would be too smart. As someone said a few pages back Stearns has to look to the future too and not just go all in this year.

    agreed, and since our return was so low, I don't think any other team thinks he will be worth anything either. *sigh* Disappointing. If other GMs thought Dubon isn't anything special then perhaps we should be glad we got something for him - a couple of arms?

    That Stearns didn't make this deal is a fireable offense. How can Stearns or anyone else make a deal if the Mets don't want to trade him?? Give NY Yelich in return??

    I don't get what is so "yucky" about this move? Here's what's yucky...now stop and think about this for a minute...IF this is all they do today..a team that is right in the thick of things for a playoff spot this year needs pitching...So, let's just assume Faria is with the MLB and goes into the rotation for the Brewers...they have filled their MAJOR pitching needs with...wait for it..Jordan Lyles and Jacob Faria?? Hang the NL Central banner now! Perhaps you should wait and see if Stearns is actually done dealing first?

    Well, Syndergaard's price tag is so high it's driven everyone away, the Giants have no real reason to trade Bumgarner anymore, and Stroman and Bauer have already been traded. Who are you expecting? Which contenders are doing much more than this right now? I heard Syndergaard is off the market anyway. Maybe Wheeler...?

We then got a Fire TV box from Target and stream online all the channels he gets. The Fire TV box/stick slings the internet stream to our TV in the living room down in FL.     Yes, they are hot right now but could cool down and perform yet again like they had most of this season. Until the Cubs figure out their bullpen they won't pull away either. I wouldn't mind keeping both Moose and Grandal one more season if the price is right.

    I'm with you. If someone told us on July 25th that we would win the series against the Cubs this past weekend I have a feeling everyone here would be pleased. We lost yesterday. I'm not going to lose sleep over that. I have a feeling the Cubs would have preferred to win that series too. Let's hope Stearns can add an arm or 2 before Wednesday.

    Yes, but who would take him off our hands? Yes, he is serviceable defensively but is horrible at the plate. His best hit tonight was that bunt in the 9th.

    He complained about a pitch clearly off the plate Edit: then Pina walks on pretty much the same pitch. Most of the umpires in the game today are dreadful.

    I wouldn’t be that worried if we didn’t just crap the bed against a bu. H of bad teams for two months. We should be in a nice spot. Not hanging on by a thread I don't consider tied for second one game back at the end of July hanging by a thread.

    When we got him I don't recall anyone saying much one way or another but he has been a great addition. His defense is great and he is fast.

    I like Freddy in the pen too. If he can become a reliable closer that will be great not fretting about not have Hader available in back to back games.
