  1. Until this team figures out how to play small ball and hit homers they are going to struggle scoring runs.
  2. This tendency for us to not be able to score most of the time without a HR is so damn frustrating to watch!
  3. Yes, we've been mediocre but outside of the Dodgers and perhaps the Braves so have the rest of the NL so far this season.
  4. Agreed. Until recently Davies was one of our most effective pitchers and he did another nice job last night. Thankfully the guys finally scored some runs last night. Let's hope last night's hitting is a sign of things to come.
  5. Yes, I too believe his future should be the AL and being a DH.
  6. All I know is that I will be Smylying if he can return to his good numbers.
  7. I'm truly not worried about the pitching. It is the HITTING that has me concerned. When we don't hit homers we really struggle to score runs. I question the approach our hitters take and this has been a concern of mine for a while.
  8. I think your assertion that the problem is our pitching doesn't hold water. We scored a grand total of 12 runs in that 4 game series and gave up 13. The only reason that doesn't look as dreadful as it actually was is because we scored 8 in the first game and 4 in the final 3. That ain't gonna cut it if we don't turn this mess around quick.
  9. You speak the truth. The pitching in that series in Cincy wasn't bad and we can win with that. But if you can't score it won't matter. It is alarming how poor our hitting is and how prone we are to striking out. If this isn't fixed soon we are toast - even tho we are still tied for first right now. The ONLY reason we aren't in the cellar is because the rest of the division is beating each other up.
  10. Glad he is still with the Crew. not necessarily, i believe he can still reject the assignment. I think he accepted the assignment seeing nobody else claimed him (that must sting for him).
  11. Frustrating Yes, but did you really think they’d score with that lineup? How can Stearns watch this game and not know this offense needs lots of help. Yelich is a great hitter but not the 30 war offensive hitter he’d need to be to overcome this offense. I understand Yelich needs days off but it was foolish for CC to also have Grandal sit and expect this bunch to score any runs.
  12. How is this year any different than last? Last season we struck out 1458 times as a team. As a comparison last year the Cubs struck out 785 times and the Cards 711 but we ended up winning the division. For some reason CC doesn't seem to wring his hands over this but it sure is frustrating to watch as a fan...
  13. I too don't understand why Counsell had both of them out of the lineup. And it was dumb of CC to have Chacin - who pitched a nice game - come out in the 7th with almost 100 pitches already. smh
  14. And if he can turn it around he'd be a nice addition without any real risk here.
  15. That wasn't the part of your post that people were calling you on. I think most every fan here sees a need in the pen. I'm sure there is an urge at times to use Hader more often, but I give them credit to sticking to the plan regarding his usage. The Brewers really haven't done anything wrong Hader-wise, and after almost two full seasons of use, I doubt they are suddenly going to start misusing him now. It wouldn't hurt to have another starter either.
  16. Me too. It would be nice if we had him to use when Hader is unavailable. Josh didn't have his best stuff last night but fortunately we scored enough to cover that.
