Well, Arcia is quickly sinking back to Cain levels of offensive production. I'm sure the Arcia hate posts are being t'd up as we speak. Arcia is a streaky hitter so this slump isn't surprising but Cain's slump is concerning.

He should be our regular first baseman.

If we want to contend this year Stearns is going to have to address our starting pitching before the trade deadline. Our hitting is good enough and the bullpen isn't a problem but outside of Davies and Woody I'm not too confident in the rest of 'em.

I have been saying this all season. Your best hitter should be hitting 3rd or cleanup.

It is even worse if you live in the eastern time zone. Right now I am in Green Bay so it isn't so bad until we return to FL in August.

Compared to most of the boards I peruse this place is docile. The old Badger State Sports and Sportsbubbler sites were far more volatile. Absolutely!!

I have a sneaking suspicion that we're going to see "Good Freddy" today. My only concern is if they'll have him on a limited pitch count because he hasn't started in awhile. I'm not holding my breath. I have no clue what they see in this kid as a starter. :-\ I'm glad he proved me wrong yesterday.

Down in FL we get all of the Marlins games and they haven't played like this at all until recently. We haven't played well but I can't see the fish playing like this for much longer. I hope we can salvage today's game but with Freddy on the mound I'm not all that confident.

You have to wonder why Boston had no interest in resigning him and why he was a FA this long. Boston’s cost if the signed Kimbrel > 65 mil incl. tax. OIC But that doesn't explain why other teams didn't show any interest until the Cubs. -

Boston couldn’t bring him back, 45 million contact would have cost them extra 23 million, because of the tax, the reports are saying his workouts in front of scouts and executives were “electric “ Good closers are very desirable so if he was "electric" why was he unsigned so long? I guess time will tell. -

Hiura is an exciting young player but his defense does need work and he can get fix that in AAA.

On Sunday when they pinch-hit Aguilar for Woodruff in the 8th I was vocal with my displeasure of this call. The guy in the row in front of me didn’t like my attitude and said to stay positive. I said “I’m POSITIVE Aguilar is going to strike out here.” Four pitches later Aguilar struck out. It was awesome. What in the heck happened to Aguilar? That poor guy looks terrible at the plate. Perhaps we should send him down to AAA for a while and see if he can come around. We can't have him in the lineup striking out 3 times a night.
