Is he getting hurt in the field though? I don't see how playing DH is going to keep him healthier. I'm not saying he is getting hurt in the field but he has had issues staying healthy lately, wouldn't you agree? Perhaps this break will allow him to rest that calf.

For Brewers yes, and probably top 3 in all of MLB Too bad he plays at a position that is deep in the NL or he might be heading to Miami today.

Be thankful every team gets at least one All Star. Otherwise we wouldn't have anyone in this exhibition game.

He did in fact get hurt. That darn Braun cannot stay healthy. The next time he's back on the DL I say try to trade him to the AL so he can DH and get someone who is not so brittle.

Exactly. He just didn't have it today - he isn't a machine. We just won, what, 5 in a row? This isn't the end of the world. It is disappointing to lose like that but we can't win 'em all. Let's go win the series tomorrow with Jimmy on the mound.

baseball-reference.com will in their box scores. ESPN has it now, they didn't live. It was 30 pitches. That's a lot, but I thought it would actually be higher. If you go to BSPN's MLB page you'd never know the Crew won unless you search for the score. The headline was Judge's 30th HR and not Aguilar's slam.

I too think he deserves to be a participant in this but perhaps nobody asked him and/or he wanted a couple of days rest?

Was he announcing for the MLB Network? Matt Lepay does a nice job filling in for him.

IMO Garza getting out of that mess with the bases loaded was the turning point of the game. I gotta say the O's look terrible right now. Today's game in Chicago is huge. It would be too sweet to win and get up by 4 and half going into NY.

I think we had one once. Either way Burnes ain't happening. Heck they won't even let Hader pitch. Yes, if they won't let him pitch then he should be sent back to AAA where he can get in some work. -
Not picking on you specifically, but the general reaction by many to closers. Mariano Rivera has a career ERA of 2.11 - he gave up two earned runs every nine innings. It will happen. The best closers in baseball aren't perfect. Don't expect 1-2-3 innings, don't expect to not ever give up any earned runs. It's the performance over an entire season. I thought it was a good sign that Knebel could gut out a save when he really didn't have his best stuff.

The Miami announcers are pretty good. Rich Waltz is a good play by play guy - I think he is better than BA by a long shot. I was sorry they let Tommy Hutton go in 2015. We get all of the Marlin games in southwest FL (along with the Rays).

Don't get me started on the topic of sponsorship. Are you telling me they can't sell time to anyone but ambulance chasing law firms? Just what you want to teach your kids. Play the lottery or try and win the lottery with a settlement from a lawsuit. Down in southwest FL there are a couple of ambulance chasing law firms that advertise all day long.

I donno if they are ready for prime time but the crowd got a kick out of Braun's homer. Villar got a couple of hits too. The place was packed. It was also Star Wars night with several people dressed like Storm Troopers along with other characters roaming about. One guy was dressed like Darth Vader and the costume was great. It began to rain in the 7th so we left. There were supposed to be fireworks after the game but maybe it got rained out. The score when we left was T-Rats 9 and the Cougars 3. I guess that team is affiliated with the Diamond Backs.
