  1. I agree with Brian and Bill. Fans on TV and at the ball parks should be told what is going on when there is review like this.
  2. They do get a break playing Oakland on this trip, however. I like seeing these kids perform well. I was impressed with Jacob Barns last night. He might be special. Smith did okay but kinda fell apart there and gave up the winning run.
  3. You can't make the little mistakes we made last night against a team like SF and expect to win.
  4. The defense behind him didn't do him any favors last night IMO. Garza looked better than I thought he would.
  5. Until the Crew finds a way to get a hit when they have a runner in scoring position (or get a deep fly ball with a guy at 3rd and less than 2 outs) they are going to struggle to win consistently.
  6. Yes, it reminds me of Packers fans bemoaning Ted Thompson's draft picks all these years.
  7. Has anyone heard of any news regarding this suit?
  8. Shouldn't the play-by-play guy be bland?
  9. I'm not going to be too harsh when critiquing August. He might be okay in the end. When Larry McCarren started on TV in GB he was horrible.
  10. I think the powder blue really works with the Brewers' 80's set, much like it does the Royals' current unis, as long as it's updated and modernized a bit. I think it looks great when done right, and really like the Royals' and Rays' looks with it. That said, I can totally understand those that don't feel the same way, and totally agree that most of the old, clashing powder blue set (Twins, Cards, Phillies, etc) were hideous. I think it would be a really weird change to go to powder blue. The biggest problem is the yellow...Brewers would have to get rid of the yellow it once had because honestly contrasting colors don't work well with the powder blue. Dark blues and white work well though(see Rays/Royals). It will never happen...but I nice retro thought not related to the ball logo. Didn't we wear the light blue uniforms on the road in the 70s and 80s instead of the grey teams wear today?
  11. Do you like the ball and glove logo in navy rather than bright blue? I do.
  12. I gotta say Molitor is starting to look rather old and ragged.
  13. You are not alone. That bunch drives me crazy.
  14. The Manatees got shut out. The Miracle looked better IMO.
  15. I'm going to see this team play the Fort Myers Miracle tonight and want to know which players to keep an eye on.
  16. I don't know if I was prepared enough. This team is really really awful. Carter sucks, Hill sucks, Villar sucks, Gennett sucks, Flores sucks, and Broxton is young and sucks. As far as pitching goes, Nelson looks like a decent #2, but the rest of the staff are a bunch of #4's and #5's. I will not be shocked if they lose 100 games. Especially if Lucroy is traded and Maldonado becomes the everyday catcher. Sadly, it is time to revert to 2003 and start checking the A+ and AA box scores before even looking at what the MLB squad did. Frankly, Nelson and Santana might be the only two players on the big league roster here for the long haul. After all the trades last year and all the kids on this roster what in the hell did you expect? I knew this was going to be a tough year so I'm gonna look for positives. The biggest one for me from this game was Nelson's pitching against that bunch from SF.
  17. This is gonna be fun watching these youngsters develop this season. I won't be able to watch the game tonight so of course we'll win.
  18. Because not all of us are about offense offense and more offense. Letting pitchers hits adds something to the game. Strategizing around the pitchers spot is interesting. In the long run it is better for the game. No more rallies killed by the #9 guy etc. However there are aspects I will miss about pitchers hitting. It's not that I want to see some big slugger up there just someone other than what pitchers are. They are horrible. It is and always has been a lousy rule in baseball. Pitchers have always sucked at hitting. The main reason why pitchers suck at hitting is they never do as they come up thru the ranks. Hell, even pitchers in a NL farm system don't start to hit regularly until AA so it is any wonder they stink at the plate?
  19. But I do love beating those damn Cardinals.
  20. I have no problem shutting Braun down. It gives us a chance to get a good look at the youngsters.
  21. It was fun beating that bunch and watching those fans file out of the stadium in the 9th.
  22. Mark seemed to be pretty giddy about this hire so perhaps this is why he appeared unfocused?
  23. He looks like Braun??? I don't see the resemblance.
