  1. Because he clearly dogged it down the line. Effort doesn't excuse being bad. He can't help it being slower than molasses in January. Why can't we ever get a deep fly ball when we have a runner at 3rd and only one out?
  2. Braun is booed because he lied about it so much before having to admit his sins. If he keeps hitting like this and keeps his head down the booing will disappear. It seems to be dying down already.
  3. At least you didn't have to listen the Giants' announcers gleeful voices while we lose another game.
  4. This has been a recurring problem all season long = the inability to bring in runners from 3rd with less that 2 outs.
  5. It would help if Lind can get out of the batting funk he's been in for the past several games.
  6. Yes, but IMO we are playing a better brand of baseball with CC managing than we did with RR.
  7. Our announcers are the least of our problems. At least you guys didn't have to listen to the Braves announcers sound so gleeful while our guys are striking out left and right today and that stupid tomahawk chop is playing non-stop. BA did a nice job yesterday calling our game on Fox Sports 1.
  8. Ramirez hasn't been hitting the cover off the ball lately. Lind has been horrendous the past several games too. I thought Nelson looked good today. It sucks that we are so crappy at scoring runs that if any of our starters yield more than a run they are screwed.
  9. I suspect you are half joking here but I seriously doubt CC is trying to lose games. The thing with Kintzler is he hasn't been very good for a while. There has to be somebody else in AAA better than him right now.
  10. I disagree. I think he is a decent pitcher. Unfortunately for whatever reason he just can't seem to perform in close games. At least that is how it feels because he manages to put up respectable stats...not great, but not bad. What good is he if he can't perform in close games? Isn't that the job of relievers? We had plenty of opportunities to win that game. Let's hope we can get the split tomorrow.
  11. I don't think the pitching has been horrendous either. But it can be tough on those guys because if they give up more than 3 runs they're screwed seeing we can't score more than a couple runs on a good night.
  12. That is kind of where I am at. I do wonder if it isn't that obvious a lot but nobody calls other teams out on it. I read where Freddie Freeman said he prefers they use it so there is less chance of getting hit. I'm kind of curious if there isn't sort of a gentleman's agreement that you should not call out the opponents on it on cold days or something. Not because everyone does it but because everyone agrees its the best way to reduce how many people get hit. If this is the case Smith should have been more discreet and not have it on his forearm for the whole world to see.
  13. Agreed. What I don't understand is why Smith was cussing out the Braves' dugout. He cheated. He should be mad at himself. They saw something and it was confirmed to be illegal by the umpires. What were the Braves supposed to do? Let him use pine tar or whatever it was to gain an advantage on their hitters? He was probably pissed that they called him on it. But honestly, have it out there on your forearm for all the world to see, Smith? I sure don't want to be known as cheaters. Of course if we are cheating we aren't very good at it if you look at our record.
  14. I think the poor guy is totally burned out! How long will it be before Luc returns?
  15. Braunie does look like his old self at the plate lately.
  16. At least the Crew is fun to watch again. April was just damn brutal. Here's to beating that other team from Chicago this week.
  17. He is kinda hot but I suspect you fellas would prefer gazing upon his wife.
  18. I've said this in many threads here and on other Brewer forums - I have no clue why RR wasn't fired after that collapse last season. I can't think of many other clubs who would have brought Ron back for another season after that disaster.
  19. Yea, i don't get some saying they hated him as a hitter. Counsell had a higher walk rate than Braun has even though Craig had zero power. I'd love for more Brewer hitters to have a similar approach at the plate. Swing at strikes, take balls. Work the count, don't let pitchers get you out by swinging at the pitches they want you to swing at. I like the hire because pretty much whenever i've hear Counsell speak, he strikes me as an intelligent guy. I see him being willing to mix sabermetric ideas with needed leadership qualities. If our new manager can get the players to approach hitting like this that would be a big step in the right direction.
