    I think I'd leave Ortiz in, but agree it's imperative to get Bauers in the lineup. He is beyond hot right now.

    I can see that viewpoint. My guess is they just want the 6 outfielders in case Chourio tweaks it but not badly enough to rule him out for the playoffs

    They’re never going to carry three first basemen and Hoskins is clearly the worst option of the three. Bauers and Vaughn are both hot.

    Not a fan of that. Go with 13 pitchers. It’s potentially two extra games with less off days.

    I wanted the Cubs because I thought it was the better matchup, but also because I knew it could produce a moment like this. i had my doubts after game 4, but damn this feels good.

    The one thing the cubs haven’t done in this series is hit high velo. I think it’s worth a shot to roll out the 6 hard throwers tonight

    Disagree. He’s going get one inning and it’s imperative to start the game strong. I love this decision. Would have loved Uribe or Patrick too.

    I think two things are really important for tomorrow. 1. We need to get out of the first inning unscathed to get some momentum back. Preferably the first two innings. Gets the team feeling good and the crowd into it. 2. We need some combo of 4 good innings from Mis and Patrick. Because of the importance of number 1, I'd be 100% fine with starting Megill or Uribe. But I also think going with Chad to start is a great option. I could be convinced on Ashby too, but his last two appearances haven't been good.

    It’s obviously going to be a bullpen game. I think I’d start Patrick. He’s been lights out. Would be cool to save him for later but we need someone to come in and set the tone. Would also give heavy consideration to Bauers in Left, Frelick in Center, and Chourio in right. Or at least be willing to go that way after the first time through the order if you’re down a run or two.

    He put together a good AB in his first at bat. I think 12 pitches. Second AB he was asked to bunt and got it down, Durbin probably would have scored if he didn’t stop. He wasn’t good. But he was fine. I wouldn’t rank him in the top 10 if we were making a list of issues.

    Lockridge was fine. tonight OTOH was one of the worst offensive performances I’ve seen in a playoff game.
