    Out of curiosity, why do you expect a .700 OPS best case when he was over that every year from 2022-2024, and over .750 in 2023 and 2024?

    Agree he’d never sign a long deal here. But he played all year with a broken finger that needed a procedure right after the season. He was a vocal leader and led by example. Really would have been a great guy to reward, and it rubs me the wrong way a bit that they didn’t.

    We have one guy who is in there for his defense. Not his bat. That’s Joey. We know he can’t hit. He’s doing his job. We need our other 8 guys to start producing runs. would be great to upgrade at SS but it isn’t happening this year.

    We aren’t hitting that many balls hard but it’d be nice if one of them actually fell when we do.

    I'm guessing they think Mis gives them the best shot to get a game here which we desperately need, but wanted to protect him against the lefties. Then you have Q tomorrow.

    Got the pitch count up a bit. If we can pitch well again today it feels like we'll be in this one.

    I'd argue Ortiz hasn't been a big problem. He's been on base in all but one or two games. He's obviously bad, but it's the other guys that are actually good hitters that we need more hitting from.

    I did like the game plan to attack early. Time for some longer at bats though. Nice to see Sal and Brice go the other way.
