  1. I just saw this one the last week. I forgot how gifted of an athlete Bo actually was. Its a real shame how his career ended so swiftly.
  2. My guess would also be a partial block which would require removing the toilet. Again this is not very difficult and only costs you a new wax ring (less than $2 at any hardware store). I also agree with Pete about everyone investing in a plastic drain auger to remove hair from your bath sink and shower drains. The first time you use it will be the worst but then if you use it every few weeks it isn't so bad. I make my wife and two daughters clean it now since I have very little hair left to lose.
  3. I saw Unbroken on Christmas Day and it was amazing. Two other movies I recently saw on Netflix were Elite Squad and Elite Squad, The Enemy from Within. Both are about the BOPE, which would be equivalent to our SWAT team, in Rio de Janeiro and how corruption and politics influence the community and police. The first movie is based on a book written by two former members of the BOPE. Beware, both movies are in Portuguese and have subtitles.
  4. The same thing was said about Jennings and and he never even signed an offer sheet. I think Knight is a talented young player but more of a combo guard than a true PG. With all of the athletic players they have on the roster, this team needs someone who can create opportunities for them and distribute the ball. Rondo comes to mind but will likely sign a max contract which I can't see the Bucks offering.
  5. If Knight is willing to take a contract similar to what Jennings got in the sign and trade with Detroit ($8MM AAV) I say resign him now. Otherwise, trade him for some quality assets (either picks or young players) and move on. Should the Bucks also look to trade Ersan and Mayo at the trade deadline to gain some cap space next offseason?
  6. I didn't mean for them to try to tank, just that losing Parker will likely cost them some additional games this season and drop them down some in the standings. I also like what I'm seeing out of this young team and think we are only a couple of players away from being a 55 win team. I believe our front court is pretty solid but our back court could use some additions especially if we don't extend Knight. This team could use a true PG (hopefully Marshall can become this player with some help for Kidd) and a sharp shooting SG (my choice would be Wesley Matthews).
  7. For what he will get on the open market I would prefer trading for either Smith or Quentin. Both are younger and provide more power off the bench.
  8. What about trading for Quentin? He's coming off a down year (.599 OPS) but holds a career (.831 OPS). He is owed $8M in 2015 and has a $3M buyout in 2016. The Padres need to move someone since they now have JUpton, Myers, Kemp, Smith, and Maybin to go along with Quentin. If the Parders would cover $7M of his remaining salary ($5M) and buyout ($2M) I would be interested in acquiring him to back up the both corners.
  9. Either we give up a fringe prospect or Boston eats some of his salary, say $9M, making his salary $3.5M in 2015, $6M in '16 and $8M in '17 in order to receive a decent prospect in return (maybe Tyler Wagner). The remaining $1M will cover the option buyout in 2018.
  10. I can't see the Dodgers asking for anything more than a low level fringe prospect in return. This is strictly a salary dump.
  11. Would you prefer Walker or Paxton in a trade for Gomez? I think I'm leaning more towards Paxton after last season.
  12. This looks a lot closer to what I thought Morse would sign for compared to the $12M which was originally reported.
  13. I doubt this happens but I would be ok with this trade.
  14. My hope is they play Ersan more and he performs well enough to net the Bucks either a solid young player or draft pick while dropping them back into the top of the lottery. We have a decent amount of players to dangle at trade deadline in Henson, Ersan, Mayo, Zaza and Dudley. It all depends on what we can get in return. I'm hoping Parker comes back next season and picks up right where he left off while we add another lottery pick, shed some salary at the trade deadline so we can sign Wes Matthews next offseason.
  15. Looks like Morse is only guaranteed $12M over two years. This seems like a steal to me.
  16. If he can provide average defense at SS he would be a good option for teams looking for a starter.
  17. This is why large market teams have an advantage with posting players. DM lucked out on Aoki since no one posted a substantial bid for him and he was had for a mere $2.5M. I'm not sure Kang will be had for any bid less than $10M.
  18. Supposedly he is only guaranteed $2.5M but I'm guessing there are added incentives. This is a great low risk, high reward deal. When Morrow is healthy he is a top of the rotation pitcher unfortunately he hasn't been fully healthy in quite some time. Still a good move for the Friars. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/padres-to-sign-brandon-morrow.html
  19. Not sure the Red Sox would be willing to trade Craig for Parra since they already have to many OF on their roster. I would be ok with trading Parra for a controllable bullpen arm and then sign Aoki and Bonifacio. You can add Rogers/Jimenez and Herrera/Gomez to back up SS as the 25th man and this would be a deep and versatile bench. We are probably adding $2-3M with both signings after you remove Parra's. Should be quite doable.
  20. It would translate to about 5 HR's a year. It would more likely translate to solid gap power here. I doubt he will hit double digit HR while in the MLB.
  21. 1) My ideal choice is Bonifacio. He can platoon with Gennett and play all three OF spots, 2B, 3B and SS in a pinch. My guess is 2yrs/$8M gets it done. 2) This is one spot i believe we have capable options already on the 40 man roster in Rogers and Jimenez. 3) There will be options available on the scrap heap come February. My preferences, if still available, would be one of Burnett, Coke, Downs or Beimel. 4) I would look for a solid corner OF option who can spell both Braun and Davis on any given day. Denorfia comes to mind but someone like Hairston is probably more realistic since he will be cheaper and payroll is already getting tight. Note: if we can trade a starting pitcher then Denorfia becomes a more realistic option. 5) Count me in on the group who is willing to trade either pitcher but only if the return is for a young controllable player or players who will help us in 2016 and beyond. 6) If we can sign Bonifacio for less than Parra ($6.5M) is as good as gone. Maybe we can add a solid bullpen arm while shedding enough salary to sign Bonifacio ($4M), Hairston ($800K) and a LH reliever ($800K).
  22. Looks like Barry also interviewed Greg Schiano. He would be a good fit at UW but I still prefer Chryst especially if he brings Rudolph back and can keep Austin Kafentzis committed. Sounds like Kafentzis wants to play QB and thinks highly of Russell Wilson time at Wisconsin (while Chryst was the OC). http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2014/12/12/wisconsin-badgers-greg-schiano-new-coach-barry-alvarez-paul-chryst/20334885/
  23. No confidence in Rogers or Jimenez? Just curious. I meant who plays corner OF like Blanks, Denorfia or even Hairston. As for our corner IF options, I think Rogers offers more power than Jimenez but believe the later will be on the opening day roster since he is out of options and Rogers can still be stashed in AAA next season for added depth. Does anyone know if rogers can play either right or left field?
  24. Personally, i'm a fan of Herrera as our utility IF. He can play all over the field, provides good defense and is a switch hitter. Yes he doesn't hit for any power but neither to most back up middle infielders. I would prefer keeping Herrera on the 25 man roster and put the savings towards bolstering the bullpen and/or finding a RH power bat for the bench.
  25. This will likely end any speculation of the Brewers acquiring Cecchini for one of our starters. Although maybe he is still available based on the Sandoval and Ramirez signings. Not sure what it would take to pry him away at this point.
