  1. Why would the players say yes to this without getting something in return? The something they get is that levels don't get cut? We're definitely staring down a lock out if this is the stance of the owners and they refuse to negotiate in good faith.
  2. If he gets this we'll be absolutely thrilled.
  3. Important to remember the proposed floor includes benefits and amateur bonuses, so your $171MM floor suddenly gets much closer to $128MM.
  4. One reason would be these splits provide a new high water mark for the owners to negotiate down from each subsequent CBA. Meanwhile their franchise values go up up up and the players get none of that gain in equity.
  5. Counterpoint, insinuating that something bad might happen to an opponent is also stupid and childish but a lot of you don't have big words for Marmol.
  6. Curt Hogg mentioned Marmol was staring into our dugout on Monday for full at bats and pointed to rib cage multiple times, our guys don't believe his explanation.
  7. No excuse for Counsell, at least Stearns grew up a Mets fan.
  8. So a middle infieder hit a walk off Homer on Mother's Day against a team from New York?
  9. And I consider the people arguing that this is actually mostly positive as the same people telling anyone within shouting distance how much this team sucks when it's April. But that's the beauty of it, we both come to our own conclusions.
  10. See that's your problem, you see 3 negative pages out of 4 as overwhelmingly negative when what you should do is cherry pick the 10 positive posts in the middle.
  11. I see next to no downside here considering the price. If he stinks you are are out on average ~$6/yr, if he is even an average player you are probably close to even and if somehow he ends up at Turang's level you've basically get multiple times the value.
  12. We are so back! God bless baseball and God bless the Brewers.
  13. I really think he's gonna force his way to Milwaukee this summer
  14. I think Fischer is gonna force some hands this season.
  15. As someone without a cable subscription who didn't want to pay for a subpar app experience, I have to say bully for me.
  16. I have paid for and used MLB.TV when previously living out of market, at a minimum it should function better than the stupid RSL app did.
  17. Guys with mediocre talent who make it to the highest level usually do so in part because they have to dedicate themselves to learning the ins and outs of their craft. They then succeed at teaching it because they had to learn it themselves. Guys with superior talent do things naturally and tend to have a hard time articulating those actions because they've either never had to think about it or they simply aren't replicable.
  18. From what my wife said, yeah. Her favorite still remains so I still get two hours of freedom on Tuesdays.
  19. Alright well it was the Halloween episode of DWTS though.
