  1. “And Yelich can turn that into a double play.” Everyone watching on TV: “….huh?”
  2. The only time you ever hear the Braves fans is when they all start trying to direct traffic or something.
  3. Not sure it matters a ton. Can’t imagine Counsell would ride him more than 4-5 innings max. Second time he bats could easily be the end.
  4. We got two calls in our favor that inning and zero not in our favor. I don’t see the problem.
  5. Visually he looks like a massive mess when batting. He just looks defeated after poor swings and K’s…more so than he did in 2018-2019. Maybe I am wrong…but seems like it.
  6. The good news is Morton was struggling in the first inning and threw a ton of pitches. They were dreaming on 4 innings, looking like 3 is more realistic. Even if we can hit Morton there is another 5-6 innings they will need to cover. And it looks like the Braves can’t score from second with no outs either!
  7. Why? Urias is good. And Rowdy isn’t good. I get people get attached to these hot month guys like Tellez/Vogelbach/Sogard, but reality is they suck. I am sure Tellez is another chapter in the book. He was garbage the last two months of the season.
  8. Charlie Morton has been worse at home this year and has given up three times as many homers as he has on the road, despite only 9 additional innings at home.
  9. Yah...I don't think I can cheer the Braves on if they move on when their postseason games seem to have the energy of a mostly empty mid-day April game. Can you imagine if we would have gotten a Rays/Braves in the World Series. We would have needed to bring back the 2020 fake fan noise.
  10. The only part of this that I disagree with is that in 2011, when the leaked e-mails with Bruce Allen came from (to my knowledge - haven't actually read any of the source documents), Gruden was working for ESPN on Monday Night Football. There is zero chance he would have been allowed to stay on the air....and that's just for the e-mail about DeMaurice Smith. I don't know, when it was just the one email he was getting a lot of support coming his way....and that is in 2021 when typically guys aren't getting backed for stuff like that. Stephen A. Smith was racist and he is still kicking this year. Wasn't Gruden a pretty major guy at ESPN back then? That probably would have saved him just like it saved Stephen A. Smith.
  11. Something tells me this game will feature more runs scored than the rest of the series combined.
  12. If twitter existed 100 years ago I think anyone 60+ or 70+ would be disowned by society for their racist, sexist, or homophobic comments from their past. I am guessing most in that age range would probably qualify for banishment under all three.
  13. I kind of hate Yelich at this point, but he has reached base in all three games and has gotten a hit in two of them. Considering our pathetic offense that seems decent. He is a lefty, we are facing a righty...have it it Yeli.
  14. I mean, seems like a no-brainer to play the guy who went 2/4 in the first game against Morton.
  15. I am just glad we get to debate whether or not to send Lauer out there (who had a great year and incredible finish to it) instead of like back in 2011 when we had to question sending Shaun Marcum out for Game 6. The whole Mark Kotsay thing is so overrated and overblown. Pitching Marcum in Game 6 was by far the most idiotic thing that series and entire postseason. Marcum was a complete trash can to end the season and his two prior postseason starts were terrible before that game. The Peralta drama isn't even a sliver of stupidity compared to the Marcum start. I remember being so ticked I didn't even watch Game 6 because the result was so predictable.
  16. None of the slurs reported in the Gruden story were acceptable 10 years ago. Or 30 years ago. Well, I guess I will just agree to disagree. Was what he said ever “acceptable”? Well maybe not. However, the punishment for it and the social response to saying such things has DRAMATICALLY changed over the years. And for the record I’m not defending Gruden or inferring he shouldn’t be fired.
