  1. The mobile tickets have been a pain ever since they were introduced. I always hear people at a ticket window with issues. Phone won’t load, can’t get the app downloaded, etc. I am sure it won’t get any better. It isn’t a disaster, but for some it probably won’t be an appreciated change. And this won’t be talked about in a few months because no one on this forum has issues with e-tickets.
  2. That isn’t what I suggested at all. I said on average....so as in on average over his tenure he has had the best recruiting in the conference. Which is just about spot on. The outlier 2020 would put him just behind Kansas in recruiting over his tenure.
  3. I mean sure, you could call that unlucky. However, with the recruiting classes he had losing in the first round or not even making the tourney shouldn’t have even been a possibility that would cross your mind. Since he got their I would wager his recruiting classes were #1 in the Big 12 on average.
  4. The sad part is he had good recruiting classes at Texas...like really solid classes. Handful of Top 100 guys yearly and a 5 star (or near 5 star) recruit every year. Annnnd...he never won a tourney game and missed the tourney 50% of the time. Maybe he proves me wrong, but I don’t see why he will fare any better at Marquette.
  5. You know not everyone is like you (or most people) and not everyone has a smart phone. Maybe they can’t afford a smart phone or maybe they have no use for one so they don’t spend hundreds a year just to have one. I can’t imagine not having a smart phone and being able to use e-tickets...but I’m one blob of millions in this country, not all of us blobs are the same. Bolded part is unnecessary snark but anyway...this person without a smart phone is going to games by themselves, or in a group where no one has a smart phone and has NO means of getting in the building with an e-ticket and despite knowing this is the policy for months in advance and that the team's (and all live events) been trending this way for years? It's on them at this point...and FWIW...you don't need to spend hundreds on them, I don't. Gobs of used phones for sale in a million places and discount plans...or, even more simply, a friend with a phone. I have a hard time believing this person even exists in any significant number this season with all the hoops you'd have to go through to just to get a ticket and be aware of pods, masking, etc. All that said, if you walk up to the window I am betting they don't tell you that you're out of luck. I’m not being snarky, literally just saying not everyone is like you. Try to look at it from someone else’s viewpoint. They have to cater to a lot of people. Some of those reasons are legitimate, some just like to be difficult, and some may just be lazy. Regardless, those people spend money and they must cater to them to get that money. It doesn’t take a large number of people over 162+ games to make a difference to the bottom line. Even 0.01% is 30k people out of 3mil. Selling an extra 30k tickets, heck 5k is a big deal. 5k more through the turnstiles is big. 99.9% of people will figure out e-tickets, the other will go up the ticket window for help. The fact people still walk up and buy tickets at the window in 2021 makes me believe e-tickets is difficult to more people than I would think.
  6. He was out coached in the Big 12 yearly. Probably a good coach for Marquette standards and I won’t pretend to know how good the fit is, but it wasn’t just bad luck. He just has not been that great coaching in a major conference. If he didn’t have that Final Four appearance I really question how good of a coach he really would be considered.

  8. Yeah, you walk up to the box office. I don't think that is going to be the case, it sounds like the only method will be e-tickets. I think even at the box office you would have an e-ticket sent to you. From the Brewers site: “I don’t have a mobile phone. How can I get my ticket?” If you are unable to utilize digital tickets, please visit the Brewers Ticket Office for assistance
  9. I assume he has a flip phone or something...that would be something that would cause issues with an e-ticket. Paper tickets definitely have their advantages. No worrying about screen brightness when trying to get scanned, not absolutely draining my battery on my phone every time I have to show it, and way easier to just having a piece of paper to pull out of my pocket for the usher. I hate being asked for it, getting my phone out, unlocking it, bringing up the app/picture, and then showing them. It slows things down so much at times when everyone has to fumble with their phone. Though it is a lot nicer now that I found out if I add the ticket to the 'apple wallet' on my phone it will keep it on my phones lock screen. Then you can have it bring up the ticket right away when you unlock the phone.
  10. I am guessing you can get tickets to any game just fine if you are in right at 10am. Field level (specifically infield) and club infield could be less than desirable for the bigger games though. Season ticket holders really ate into those sections before all the pre-sales even happened. Of course it also depends on the number of tickets you are after. I will say odd numbers (like 3) seemed to get dramatically better seats in sections. Probably because most are getting 2 or 4 and that is what most season seat accounts probably are. I remember checking a game and it was back of the section on the field level for 2 tickets, but when I changed it to 3 out of curiosity it was within 5 rows of the field.
  11. Yeah, you walk up to the box office. Yeah, that was my first thought as well. Not always convenient. Or, would printing a ticket from home still an option? Forgot to mention in my previous post getting to a 2018 NLCS game was not a smooth transaction. Hence, the anxiety. It does not appear that printing at home is an option, why, who knows.
  12. Yeah, you walk up to the box office.
  13. Brewers renovated Bernie's Chalet and the slide is now white. Thought maybe I was just crazy, but it seems the general consensus is a bit of disappointment the slide isn't yellow anymore. It is pretty much the focal point of the entire stadium on the inside and now it blends in. I am guessing it was yellow for that exact reason, to not blend in and stand out. I suppose it is a trade off to renovate the thing. The white retro chalet probably would have looked dumb with a yellow slide...and I always thought the chalet before looked strange and had no character. I probably would have just gave it character with the current color scheme (which the yellow slide would have still matched well with), but I am sure the retro chalet look will be a hit with the older crowd. Of course the chalet is basically just marketing BS for American Family....so I guess I shouldn't be surprised it is the way it is.
  14. Yup, just walked in and said I wanted to sell it. My understanding is Carmax gives wholesale/auction value. Dealers seem like they want to give a price where they can sell it for huge bucks on their lot or if it won’t sell they can just send it to auction themselves while still making a good chunk of money.
  15. Yes 15 is odd I guess you could explain 5 by him not liking the service received. But even at 10 that is an alarming number. I haven't ever hired a personal trainer to give me a massage, but this does not sound normal: Doe 15 alleged in her lawsuit that when Watson “eventually flipped over onto his back, the towel fell off [and] … Watson was completely naked and exposed his ***** to the Plaintiff. Watson also moved his ***** onto Plaintiff’s hand. Watson had ***-********* leaking out of his *****, which got onto Plaintiff’s hand. Plaintiff felt like she wanted to vomit.” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/the-lawsuit-that-is-most-problematic-for-deshaun-watson-014827728.html
  16. If you don't mind, how much difference was it between what they listed and what they gave you for it? $5k, gave me $20k and listed for $25k. That being said the highest a dealer offered me was about $16.5k. When I appraised it online through Edmunds the private party value was about $22.5k. Hardly more for the hassle/risk in selling it privately so I was pretty happy. Carmax was super easy to deal with though. They barely look over the car and they just drive it around the block for a quick test drive. No in depth mechanical inspection to uncover the original brakes with 58k miles on them for example. They just handed me a check for exactly what Edmunds appraised it for online (they must have some agreement) and I left.
  17. You can get a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme every single day of the year already.
  18. Be careful what you wish for. I doubt their stream is going to be cheap. Just my gut feeling, but I am thinking cable is better than YTTV + Bally price wise.
  19. And there are times when no local broadcasting is available and the games are STILL unavailable. Do you think the four teams that people from Oklahoma can't watch are all available on local cable? And now Sinclair has exasperated the problem by cutting off most if not all of those who have switched to streaming. MLB is alienating viewers, and it's a real problem. They've acknowledged it's a problem, but of course on something like this they're slow to act because they need to focus their efforts instead on overhauling the game to shave 2 minutes off game times. I mean, idk? I don't live in Oklahoma. I have lived in areas where two markets were blacked out and both were on cable, Milwaukee/Chicago and Milwaukee/Minneapolis. I don't disagree with your last paragraph. I am not sure what MLB really can do though. All the TV deals are pretty independent of each other and up to individual teams. The teams don't have a ton of leverage and seems most just kick stones around until the TV deal expires and it is impossible to do anything in a few months other than to crawl back to Sinclair. You have every team in different 10/20/30 year TV deals. Is MLB just going to buy out all the TV deals and figure something else out?
  20. I sold my old car to Carmax a few weeks ago and they listed it for $1,500 less than the price I paid two years ago...used car prices are simply insane these days. It was a 2019 vehicle that I took the mileage from 16k to 58k. The only thing I did to it was change the tires out a year ago, still had original brakes and everything else. Incredible it's value pretty much didn't change over two years of heavy usage.
  21. It protects local broadcasting rights, what about that is outdated? Without blackouts Sinclair would probably be paying the Brewers peanuts to broadcast their games as everyone would just go buy MLB.TV bypassing them completely. Not sure that would really be that great for the Brewers bottom line.
  22. Brewers - 87-75 Cardinals - 84-78 Reds - 82-80 Cubs - 79-83 Pirates - 63-99 MVP: Yelich - I mean, who else? I expect him to still be notably below his MVP years...but he is still leaps and bounds better than any other hitter on the team. CY Young: Brandon Woodruff...we will see how Burnes fares over a full season. For now I will take the safer option of the two. I am just happy this is a decent thing to debate and that both are such studs on the mound. Breakout: Freddy Peralta, he eventually will put it all together. Whether that be in the pen or in the rotation. He doesn't have a ton of competition for this award. Disappointment: Josh Hader. He will still be a top reliever, but the guy has been so good he can't really go up. Under the radar player to watch: Ryan Braun, IF he finds himself on the team this year he could provide a nice spark to the team. Luis Urias could also be a Darkhorse contributor. Rookie of the Year - Mario Feliciano...well, they ain't much in the pipeline that is an obvious potential 2021 contributor.
  23. This reminds me of a time I was sitting at a little hotel bar and this guy walked up (mid 30s maybe). He was the type to go on endlessly about himself and mentioned he was failing at Tinder. So he voluntarily pulls it up on his phone for my opinion. Well his photo was some semi-seductive selfie of him laying on a bed shirtless (he wasn't in shape). His bio mentioned his cat and then had some sexual esque sentence. I can't remember it exactly and while it wasn't bad it certainly seemed like it would give a woman the wrong idea about what he was after. So I basically told him his profile pic was pretty bad and he should have something more normal WITH a shirt on. Also...probably don't mention your cat and don't infer you want to get to know someone romantically before you even message them. He brushed off my advice and thought his profile was perfect...sigh, probably still single without a single match on Tinder.
  24. Kevin King sucks...but we have definitely had worse in recent memory running around. It also gives me someone to complain about on every drive.
  25. Why? He still led them to a 2-1 record in the regular season and then played well the entire playoffs. I get he wasn't the starter the whole year, but an average QB lead them through the playoffs and I don't see any reason Foles couldn't have gotten them to the playoffs himself over 16 games. Somewhat of an asterisks, but I don't think it can be completely thrown out.
