  1. I have my tickets through May it appears. I don't remember my selections, but I see one for March, April, and May.
  2. I think MLB teams are well aware of the 26th man and clever ways to use it...zero teams wanted to use it on Billy Hamilton. I think that explains a lot. His stolen base ability is also a bit overrated. He success rate was 79% last year and 77% in 2018. That is good, but really nothing special. Certainly far from elite. That would be special if he could hit a bit with it, but he can't.
  3. I think the strain it would put long term on the payroll was taken into consideration. Signing Cain was easy because it really isn't a strain on the payroll...another larger contract arguably would be. You have to be a little smarter now that the payroll is a bit higher and arbitration in future years will certainly take a big chunk out. I believe Attanasio when he says it didn't stop them from making a move...I just don't think any were worth the money added to the payroll. There are also many question marks in the coming years (inclusion of the DH) where they may want some flexibility depending on that and other collective bargaining topics.
  4. If you look at the projected payrolls for 2020 and compare them to 2019 records the teams below the Brewers are 90+ loss teams...then the Rays, the A's, and the Indians (who are not trending up talent wise) are also mixed in there. I mean it is easy to see why people may be a little upset with that. I don't exactly expect us to be spending like 100 loss rebuilding teams or teams that garner the fan support of a AAA team. Hopefully they find some guys they like in the next few years or maybe extend some young players. I don't envision the 2020 payroll being a trend...I think it will start bumping up in future years as they sign some guys and others hit arbitration. Of course I also hope they make the postseason this year and the payroll shrinkage doesn't become a storyline all year.
  5. It is a low payroll for us...below what I think is sustainable when competing. They were willing to float $100mil payrolls while competing nearly a decade ago. Inflation and all the additional money over the years is exponentially more than they saw back then. One can acknowledge that without thinking they are deliberately slashing payroll to be cheap. I think their moves make it look that way, but when you have lots of holes to fill and don't find the big names worth it that is kind of what you need to turn to. It was kind of a combination of a lot of money coming off the books and the notable free agents just not being near worth the cost it would take to get them. What is ignored from Attanasio's interview is the fact he said it didn't stop them from making moves. Which is fine because making moves to make them is rarely a wise idea. That being said this years payroll is still quite small for a competitive Brewers team...certainly lower than you would expect. I don't think it is a sustainable payroll (it is lower than sustainable)...I think it just ended up low because they didn't have the players to get. It looks bad, fans have reason to be a tad disappointed over it, but hopefully it is a sign of smart management.
  6. Should it? No. Can it? Yes, and not the most rare occurrence. Really it is just poor HR practice. To clarify it could be on your performance review regardless...but it still should have been brought to your attention right away...and even then it is strange why they won't give you details on it.
  7. Gotta feel for Hader, he is like an elite RB...but the MLB version. Dudes arm may fall off before he ever sees free agency and make less in his entire career than he could in one year if he was a free agent right now.

  9. The Brewers aren't saving money to pay Yelich. Sorry, but it isn't happening. Remember when Attanasio always claimed they could overspend when competing and he would have no problem doing so? Welp, here we are, in the midst of the best stretch of baseball in franchise history and he is slashing payroll crying poor. I don't care if he does, his team, and most owners are worse than him. Is what it is.

  13. Anyone upset we didn't sign Lucroy should look at Lucroy in recent years...yikes. Dude can't even get a major league deal anymore...
  14. Why would he not be the starting 3B against righties? He's going to get a lot of ABs. As many as Gyorko, Arcia, Braun and Smoak. I think it pushes Sogard over to SS to split time with Arcia. CC has a lot of options, anyway. No one said a back end of the roster guy can’t start. They may have many back end of the roster types, but they should have a better bench at all times than most teams have. The value (hopefully) of the PHs and platoon advantages should hopefully outweigh the fact many of these guys independently are not really that good. It may also benefit the Brewers tendencies to pull starters early. Better bench bats hopefully gives you better plate appearances when you have a pitcher bat that one less time in a game.
  15. It is a nice bat for the back end of the roster...I always enjoy bench bats that can hit a bit. To me this is entirely unrelated to Urias.
  16. This is a massive non story/non issue. After everyone got done giving their reaction everything went back to normal. I doubt Hader, Stearns, or Counsell care at all today. Hader knows that is how the system works.
  17. Who cares is Hader is ticked off at us and will never resign here. We would never extend/resign him anyway and he likely is traded with 2-3 left of control. Management is already eyeballing his trade value.
  18. What exactly is, “Do what is right?” Nothing says suspend players for electronic sign stealing. The warning sent out in 2017 warned of draft pick loss. There really wasn’t a threat to the players themselves, but more so for the teams. That is exactly the punishment Manfred warned of and what he did. I think part of the problem is the players aren’t really the core of the problem. It is the front office, coaches, and the trash banger. I guess I don’t have a huge issue with players not getting suspended.
  19. Why? That’s an even more relevant excuse and pretty legitimate. Trying to suspend players would have been a massive mess that would have been a terrible look for months. The season would have been plagued with appeals and potential suspensions. They opted to punish the leaders of the team for creating it and allowing it. This punishment is still miles and miles more extreme than most leagues would ever consider.

    Pizza

Your opinion holds no weight here, sir! Haha, it is okay...but nowhere near best frozen pizza. At the end of the day I still feel like I am eating a cheaper frozen pizza. I will say for the price (which is important in my frozen pizza tastes) it is solid. The crust just seemed forgettable to me. I remember having it for the first time and wrote it off as another thing Chicago ‘burb people think is the greatest thing on earth that is simply normal/average.
  21. That is false, the seam on the old one was accurate depending on what angle of a real baseball you are looking at it. I have seen this said before, but that was a real seam of a real baseball. Well neither is accurate if we are nitpicking...both just show solid lines...they aren’t laces. Regardless it was a somewhat dumb look, two seams is a lot more logical. I guess the point is a lot of the logo really isn’t legit or make sense. I mean the logo shows catching the ball in the heel of the glove. The connection actually makes it look more like a glove and look like it has a pocket so to speak. The old one looks like the glove is broken. It’s a logo, not a legal document. There will be things that don’t really make total sense or look super legit. I don’t think the letters being connected takes away from them being letters.
  22. If just shooting them from helicopters was a solution to the problem I would think the state would be better served by just hiring professionals to do it, those guys are part of the economy too and it couldn't be much of a dent in the budget of a state the size of Texas. By trying to do it by creating these businesses seems less efficient and probably won't get it done. The have tried programs with bounties for coyotes I think in the south too and it just results in more pups surviving to adulthood. I didn’t say it was a solution, there really isn’t a solution at this point. But if there can be a positive impact to the economy from it I guess that is better than nothing.
  23. It is actually still an ‘m’ and a ‘b’. Connecting them does nothing to change that. It is just two letters connected with a line. Did the old logo not bother you? Because the ball wasn’t actually a ball, the seam wasn’t a real looking seam. To me that would be way more bothersome that they couldn’t even make a ball look like a ball.

lol Home Run Inn? That’s the best and no room for improvement? Must have been paid off to write that.
  25. They get a food stipend and their housing paid during season, that bumps up the value a bit. So it isn’t really just $1,600. It isn’t great, but then again the opportunity is a luxury in itself. I wish they would pay them more, but why would they when the demand to play is much higher than the number of spots.
