  1. I’d be happy about that drive, but Richard Sherman gifted us twice with really strange decisions to just shove a guy for zero reason. That drive was dead in the water otherwise at the end.
  2. The 49ers are sooooooo much better than us. Their defense is light years better and their offense is better.
  3. I buy the best product for myself. If it ain’t American, sorry not sorry. Not an American product hater, but I won’t seek it out to get something worse.
  4. Cowboys-Patriots game: Cowboys robbed of a chance to win the game. Two tripping fouls called against them and both were hysterically pathetic calls. The second was a 3 and 1 play with under two minutes to go, down 4. For the game to end on that, what an absolute joke.
  5. What a crazy pile of assumptions that have absolutely nothing to back them up. Way to assume how things effect a guy and how it does years later.
  6. A few voters have taken players off their ballot from last year because they think Jeter should go in alone. So they are solely voting for Jeter.
  7. This is somewhat shockingly the biggest contract in White Sox history.
  8. I don't see Segura as an option at all. He is due $15M each year for the next 3 years. Way too much money for Stearns. You know...teams can offer money in a deal.
  9. Say what you want about being financially efficient, but the White Sox are throwing their money around. That is a ton of money invested in a couple older free agents over the last couple days, though. High, high risk. Jose Abreu isn't even that good either. I am still trying to figure out how he won a Silver Slugger in 2018.
  10. TESLA is such a joke and that pickup truck is the biggest one yet. When will people realize the products suck, all he does is disappoint on promises, and just keep churning out idea after idea with no successes.
  11. So you prefer to cheer for cheaters that aren't getting caught?
  12. I would still look into it. Getting a rate quote doesn't ding your credit score and very often you can get the same loan length with a lower interest rate. After searching options for quite a bit I did find one that would give a generous drop in interest rate. Id have to go into a shorter repayment, but it only increases the monthly payment $80 or so. Took me awhile to find one even worth the time though. Most places were actually worse or the same rate. It was somewhat annoying as many places won't do a soft credit pull so if you have really good credit the quote wasn't really accurate. Next up refinance the car loan.
  13. Why do people act like the Brewers only go for good deals? Ryan Braun? That didn't make sense at the time and it ended up predictably poor. Lorenzo Cain? Everyone pretty much was on the same page that likely would go down as a bad deal where the last 3 years or so would be bad. Matt Garza? They took a risk there trying to get an impact pitcher. The Brewers overpaid to go get Lorenzo Cain and get into a contract that they knew would eventually turn sour before the end. It may be going south after just the second year of it. To me that contract already being on the books pretty much assured they weren't going to empty the money truck for Grandal. I just don't think they have the payroll to have two terrible contracts like that. Not in a time period where we are competing and have to pay a lot of younger players.
  14. Highest payroll in team history and 4th in the division. https://www.usatoday.com/sports/mlb/salaries/2019/team/all/ Dang the Reds had a higher payroll? Sure got them far didn't it.
  15. The increase in team valuation is mostly based purely on the fact owning a sports team is like the holy grail of ways to spend insane money you don’t know what to do with. It isn’t heavily tied to actual profitability...without selling the team of course. The Brewers outpace similar market sized teams in spending, draw well, treat the fans amazing etc. and yet people are upset they don’t treat the team like a video game.
  16. Ahhh the classic complaining about the payroll, not spending money, and not making big moves before the winter meetings. I remember that the last two years lol. Didn’t end up being that way in the end both times. If a guy is getting signed before December someone massively overpaid.
  17. To me he should have been eligible a year after the date he left the OSU team. That just seems logical to me.
  18. Grandal to Pina = -.124 OPS Arcia to Didi = +.085 Mind you Didi+Pina means there isn’t an additional pitcher in the line up which probably has value in itself. You also have to take into consideration Grandal is likely to only go downhill from this point on where Didi probably improves on last year. If you took a 3 year average Arcia to Didi is probably a bigger difference. Point being Grandal is not the end all be all for our offense. He isn’t essential. They can make big offensive improvements others ways IF they choose to. On another note I think it is even more tiresome when people, who have zero clue what the Brewers finances actually look like and probably couldn’t manage a Taco Bell, act like the Brewers can do (insert payroll demands). Dodgers can’t win with a $200mil+ payroll. I bet Attanasio would skyrocket payroll if it assured a ring. It does not, it would not even move the needle that much.
  19. Yah, we could have afforded him...doesn’t mean we should have done it. Signing someone like Yaz to that kind of deal is about as risky of a signing one could do as a small market. Actually I’d argue we can’t afford it. We can afford 4/$73mil contracts...but to a catcher? Debatable. I think this is a horrid deal for the White Sox. They will get 0-2 years of elite production and they haven’t even proven to be near a .500 ball club yet.
  20. Yup, at that price it just is not worth it. There are definitely a plethora of ways to spend that much money and/or type of commitment to a player in likely better ways. White Sox could easily get a near average catcher right from the start. If not it probably won't take long. If he somehow is elite for 2+ years good for him. I personally always though he was a bit overrated by people and I would argue he was even slightly disappointing. I was expecting a lot more for a guy coming from Dodgers stadium to Miller Park.
  21. Alright shut the thread down, we have a winner.
  22. You are unqualified to tell me what should and should not bother me. Yah, I totally agree. Lucky for you I didn't say that
  23. The fact the Rays and Marlins fail to draw has way more to do with things outside of the state of Florida. Rays stadium is a dump and in a horrid location. Marlins have been a horridly run franchise for a long time and it has hit an impressive low the last 5 years. I also think their stadium is known to be in a poor spot. I don't think those two teams reflect how a team in Orlando would draw. I don't think they would draw incredibly well, but it would probably be better than those teams. The reason this won't happen (or any expansion) is because there are currently multiple teams with dumps for stadiums that can't get new ones. Until they get new stadiums (or relocate) a team simply isn't getting added. I will agree there seem to be better locations for a new team, not sure why Orlando would be selected.
  24. Y'all are getting past "Yelling at a cloud" level. I mean come on...complaining about how they explained changes? That should not bother you. I wouldn't be surprised if some of it is partially true. They put some incredible thought in the logos...most notably the bricks in the road logo and the royal ring in the official logo.
