  1. Dude has been pretty good after being a total after thought before the season. Way too early to tell. Yeah, making that type of call on a 22-year-old with 144 major league ABs to his name is pretty much the ultimate overreaction. He has been consistently solid the entire time he has been up. 8 RBI the last week, only 3 Ks, 6 BBS, about a .950 OPS. I don’t know...hard to complain with that. Not every prospect comes up and has a .950 OPS. Coming up and almost hitting to a .800 OPS is pretty respectable.

  3. Better than St. Louis winning... we have a more realistic chance at the division if they lose tonight. I’m not disagreeing with that, but we came in today against an inferior team starting a pitcher with a near 7 ERA and find a way to get pounded ourselves. Said pitcher had a solid game against us. Really disappointing to say the least. Hopefully we find a way to force a Game 163. We still got a chance...but we royally failed on a day that would have pulled us even with them.
  4. What a punch in the groin. St Louis set to lose? Dang...missed opportunity.
  5. Today was the most sensible day to use the big guns in the bullpen. They would get two days rest before Monday if needed. I don’t know...I would have pitched them today under the circumstances of a close game.
  6. Well, looks like this game will save me about $90 next Tuesday.
  7. Their only hope to catch the Cardinals is for their offense to go quite. The Cubs aren’t going to be scoring a ton with the line ups they throw around.
  8. Come on Hiura, wake up. Amazing he can hit so well (so far), but be little league bad at anything else.
  9. This pitcher sucks, hopefully we make him look like his stats. Jump on him early now.
  10. Max Scherzer is the Nationals WC game starter. Kind of surprised to be honest, but I don’t know his stats against the Cardinals either.
  11. Don’t think Yelich has a chance, even with Bellinger having a good, but not elite month. The second he got injured he was in second place and will not be considered any higher for people considering him such when he went down...for the most part. Playing to an .850 OPS is still better than repping zero games played. Somewhat relevant in my opinion. Not sure why someone is mentioning Yelich’s 130 games versus 134 games for someone else. Not sure who that guy is, but it isn’t Cody Bellinger.
  12. Their poor 1 run record and walk off results aren’t bad luck. It is called trash pen. And unless Kimbrel becomes his old self I doubt it see ls massive improvement. Can only waste so much money on the pen.
  13. I said it last night, but you could probably find a penalty on almost any play. For all the off the ball/play penalties they call think about how many away from the ball/play they miss. I think they overreacted to that play last year. In all reality there really wasn't that big of an outcry over it. To instill a rule that allows you to challenge a play, but only 'blatant' ones will be overturned is pretty much creating a disaster. That is like if MLB would have started challenges at 1B, but is had to be by a complete step (blatant). If you are going to go through the time of allowing challenges you gotta take the good with the bad. Big or small mistake you should be overturning it. Why go to the monitor, know it is a PI, but because it is moderate we will keep the call on the field...it wasn't excessive. I mean come on NFL. When will you learn?
  14. Maddon is just saying he doesn't care what the Brewers think of how he manages his team for the series....it isn't like he said he was going to play his B squad to screw the Brewers.
  15. The penalty challenge rule has officially become a complete disaster/joke. Yesterday pretty much summed it up. Call happens, Mr.Expert chimes in saying it is textbook like the recent video they were all shown, and it is 100% a penalty that should be called. Referee comes back in "Call Stands". Another challenge happens and basically the same is said that is definitely a penalty they should be have been called...but since the one before wasn't called this one won't be. The cherry on the top was the last play. The entire purpose of the rule was because of a late miss call. So in real time the INT play looks like it could have been a missed penalty (lots of contact). Do they go to make sure it was indeed a clean play? No, of course not. They aren't even going to use this review rule inside 2 minutes...at least very very rarely. If Rodgers is marching down the field, no timeouts, and 50 seconds left do you think they are going to stop the game to go check a offensive PI? Yah right...so what is the point? The challenge is being used for all the wrong reasons and is very unlikely to be used for its intention in the specific time it becomes so important.
  16. I may nail the standings (we hope).
  17. Still sounds better than $0
  18. End of the day Theo Epstein built a winner, a World Series winner and a team that went to the NLCS 3 years. He has three World Series rings to his name. He rebuild of the Chicago Cubs was nothing short of impressive regardless of how much they tanked for high picks....you still have to hit with those picks. The Brewers will tell you how hard that is. Everyone will mention how anyone can run a high payroll to success/World Series, but that simply is just wrong. It may be easier and allow more room for error, but it still takes a lot Did he kind of ruin the "dynasty"? No, I don't think so. Looking at it I don't think he could have done things differently to keep the predicted dynasty going. HOWEVER, I do think he did a pretty solid job ruining their sustainability of success/being a yearly force. I think they got a bit too focused on trying to 'win now' and getting that second championship. Jose Quintana just started a downward spiral of iffy moves, their success started to decline, and they just pressed more. Their downfall can be summarized very simply: They refused to have an off/down year and quickly started making too many poor moves. They should be glad the end of this year is ending in complete disaster instead of ending up one game out of the postseason. If that had happened they probably would have just kept pressing poor and risky moves this winter. They need to take a step back and think more logically.
  19. 7:10 7:00 7:15 Something like that.
  20. Sigh, would you look at that. Tackling him before he even got a chance at the ball.
  21. Davante Adams might be healthy by the time this is done with.
  22. Wow that Eagles player just took a serious shot....
  23. I’m excited for my fantasy win next week with Zeke
