  1. Hopefully Chacin can keep it going tonight. He has been pretty solid of late after the rough start to the season.
  2. Knee high by July! Oh. It's July 18th... Haha...don't come to the northern portion of the DairyLand saying that. Unlike you southerners we got lots of rain early on and really don't need the latest rain either. Many fields are bare or just weeds, never could get planted. Of the ones planted a lot look really rough or have massive bare spots from flooding.
  3. Ha....these hot takes aren't aging to well it seems.
  4. Really? Taking Anderson out of the rotation cause he won't let him go deep into games? You think Counsell is going to give any longer of a leash to unproven Houser? Yah, I doubt it. This staff needs consistency over someone who is going to average 5.1 innings vs. 5.0 innings.
  5. I swear at like the AS Break media was preaching how the division was close, but the division's chances at grabbing a WC spot was fading because every team was struggling. All this to look up the standings today and see we hold the 2nd spot and the Cardinals are .5 a game out. I kept going back each week and every Wednesday it seems a team held a spot and another was the next team out.
  6. If people were trying to illegally bring guns into Miller Park it would create quite a large scene and I am sure we would hear about it.
  7. Is that Ron Roenicke out there in the Braves dugout? I like when the other manager just lets a starter sit out too long.
  8. Yah not the best location with that pitch. 88mph down the shoot to Yelich is not a good recipe for success.
  9. They would get a comp pick...wouldn't lose everything. Which then can turn into a Monte Harrison and be apart of the next package for a stud. I personally was sure glad they decided to let Prince Fielder walk in 2011 instead of being too scared of some risk. Was a good run.
  10. Travis Shaw is absolutely destroying AAA these days, for what it is worth.
  11. The only thing that is going to top 2018 is probably a World Series win. They won 9/10 of their last regular season games (including 8 in a row). They clinched a postseason spot in the Cards house and then trucked over Detroit at home to force Game 163 to crowds well over 40k. They then trotted into Wrigley Field, beat a shocked Cubs team, and then celebrated in front of them and their fans. The Brewers then got to watch the Cubs sink the rest of the way down losing to the Rockies at home crushing their fans two days in a row. The Brewers then swept the Rockies in the NLDS to up their winning streak to 13 games over the course of the regular season and postseason. Throw in the way Yelich ended the season and yah...doesn't get much more poetic than that.
  12. From my experiences at games most people realize their pocket knife when they get in line and then realize it. Possibly due to seeing the signs by the door. Then they either have to go back to their car or...and I quote...are told to throw it in the trash. Those are the options. Never seen someone realize they have their conceal carry on them though. I would question any surprisingly high number simply because getting to the point you are at the metal detector before realizing it is super unlikely to me. Usually dawns on people before then. Also mace is probably the most popular confiscation. Those little key chain maces are not allowed. Which sorry, seems a bit ridiculous to take that.
  13. I bet the number was pretty fiction in nature to make it seem like they are doing some valiant job protecting us. Now I am not saying they do or don't...just the fact usually people asking such a question likely think the entire process is a big waste of time. So naturally you want to make it sound good to them. This thread is definitely not going to go in a good direction though. haha
  14. Do fans really though? I mean we all obviously love Yelich A LOT...but doesn't seem he has the ungodly appeal Braun had before everything went down. Yelich is even more popular than Braun. Braun had Fielder to compete with, as many loved Fielder even more than Braun. Probably an argument for Braun being more popular. Braun was #8 in jersey sales at the end of the regular season in 2011 (ranked sales from opening day to the end of reg. season). Yelich didn't even rank Top 20 in the same timeframe for 2018. Which I find notable because not only was he arguably the favorite player on the team it was also his first year on the Brewers. You would expect an inflated amount of sales because no one had one before...as where with Braun he had been with us for years, thus, many already had a jersey. Not to mention, as you said, Braun heavily competed with Fielder for fan's hearts. Of course Yelich jumped up to #8 from January 1st to opening day sales for 2019...likely fueled by the MVP award. I am guessing Braun would have also increased on his position had he not tested positive because at that point more were being burned than bought. Now jersey sales aren't everything, but it is quite interesting Yelich wasn't even Top 20 despite being on a brand new team, playing like an All-Star, and then suddenly an MVP season come the end of the year.
  15. Ryan Braun was the same way...almost a spitting image at the same age as far as health and look. Then his health went down the tube. You just can’t predict it. On another note I think a fair extension would be 5/$150mil for him. If you look at how free agency is shifting against guys in their 30s I don’t think it is a given he is going to get blown away with some 8-10 year deal. Well, actually, I think it is pretty much assured he isn’t getting more than 8...and probably 7 best case. Mike Trout only got through his 38 season...Yelich isn’t going to fair any better (Machado and Harper also got to 38 I believe). Mind you all those contract start at an age less than the 31 Yelich will be. You could argue even that is too much. All Yelich would be risking is two years and maybe a little on the average salary. His DREAM scenario is probably managing a 7/$250mil contract or so. Assuming he continued to be one of the Top 5 players in the game every year. Any sort of decline and that number and amount of years is going to sharply decline. Not saying I would do it, but 5/$150mil is the sweet spot where both sides may consider it.
  16. I am more impressed with leading the NL in steals, than the HR count. NL is pretty empty on base stealers. Leading the league with a pace under 40 is kinda crazy.
  17. In a fantasy league with friends. Someone took Burnes, I then took Woodruff, and then Peralta went soon after. I think I won that decision.
  18. Saladino about to get hit by a spear and throws a strike...Hiura gets a perfect feed and can’t get within 20 feet of first base with his throw.
  19. I mean...yah he kind of is. All players go through highs and lows. Ignoring something just because they ended or started the year hot/poor is so popular, but so misleading. One could sit here and say, "Well after his hot streak in May his OPS has been merely average at .750."...now he doesn't look so impressive. His BA in his last 14 days is .227, but if you took 28 days it is .305. All about how you want to cut that pie.
  20. Okay so we get to ignore his horrid month, but then accept his 1.000+ OPS May? I don't think that is how it works.
