  1. Just say this show is called "Hank the Dog and the Frosty Boys" Sounds fun? Well the show is about dogs and a bunch of boys. Could work.
  2. Cain and Yelich ruining most of the happiness I had about their regular seasons at this point. Absolutely just blowing it when it matters.
  3. My 2 year old is not buying any excuse I give him for turning off Puppy Pals.
  4. You aren’t spiking anything against the pitcher so that is pretty irrelevant. I think I will take risking spiking a pitch to let in a run (incredibly unlikely in that situation...like less than 5%) instead of pitching to a legit hitter with a guy on second. Counsell was either oblivious to the pitcher being 2 guys away OR he was to divulged in his gamble to have Grandal/Pitcher be the first two guys up the next inning...which is just terrible logic with the winning run on second. Can’t do that and definitely not in the postseason.
  5. The bigger blunder was failing to walk the bases loaded to get to a pitcher in the inning we ended up losing the game in. There just is not excuse for that big of a managerial blunder. Counsell has done great in the postseason, but that was a big ole fail that is pretty hard to debate. In addition to that, there were a few on the IGT thread who mentioned they would rather pitch to Grandal than Bellinger. Inference being that some were not looking 2 batters ahead. I can't believe CC failed to do that, but still wonder why Guerra did not execute the "plan" of extending the zone so as to not give him a pitch to hit. Seemed that perhaps a lack of clearly communicating the plan was the problem. Yup it was like a double whammy. I just don't understand why you go after him there...it just did not make sense.

  7. Not saying he hasn't earned them, but a lot are easy walks when a pitcher obviously has no interest pitching to him. The most concerning thing to me is he has started to just look like he wants a walk. Has his bat on the shoulder in 3-1 counts talking it all the way. Just doesn't look comfortable. Hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think he is busting out of that slump the rest of this series.
  8. How ironic for him to carry us into the postseason to pretty much be a dumpster fire to knock us out. That’s postseason baseball for you. The whole opinion of a player changes by how they perform in postseason. Yup, that is why players like Alcides Escobar are still on their teams well longer than they should. Was the ALCS MVP and now they resigned him for no apparent reason even though he doesn't really fit the roster. They keep him around because it keeps the happy thoughts of 2015 going.

  10. There you go ... just keep walking towards the light. Must be on his third cup of coffee. Waking up a bit.
  11. uhhh... what? Basically he isn't optimistic regardless. haha I found no correalation between home/road and his implosions. They happen either or. I will say he doesn't usually have two huge blow ups in a row...but also doesn't necessarily have huge success after one either. The key is getting ahead in counts. He gets smashed when he is behind in a count and is unhittable ahead in the count.
  12. I would take some interest in their displeasure with Machado if it actually translated to something on the field because the offense is pretty dead these days.
  13. We got it man, you think we are going to lose the next two games. I do. And I am free to say that as much as I want. This isn't the optimism thread. Sure, but you could make it not seem likes god miracle for us to win when that is pretty far from the truth. You talk about Kershaw being the best pitcher in baseball, which really he isn't, but fail to mention how we just rocked him a few days ago and he has a history of being a turd in the postseason. I get being a little less than optimistic going into today. If I was betting I would probably pick the Dodgers today, but man I don't think we are just laying down for them today.
  14. Yah now I can sob in my bed and get over it by my actual bedtime if we lose.
  15. We got it man, you think we are going to lose the next two games.
  16. Do you give him a start, or just make him another multi-inning pen option? Not sure it really matters. I don't think we see anyone really pitch that long from here on out. Miley today is probably the longest leash anyone will get for the remainder of the NLCS. The bullpen will be fresh for Milwaukee and it will be all hands on deck. Someone will have to be flat our dominating to go much more than once through the order.
  17. The bullpen is fine. Our pitching has been amazing...the offense has wet the bed, they are the real problem. That is the bigger problem moving forward for next year too. Moustakas is likely gone, Schoop is likely gone, and Arcia still sucks. Yelich won't be a god and Cain may see regression and who knows about Braun. Don't forget we probably won't get another AS half season from Aguilar and our catching situation is still sad offensively. But that is for November conversations.
  18. Yeah, you're probably right. This offense sure could use a shot in the arm, though I just don't know who that would be. I mean at this point you gotta just role with the guys you know can do it. I don't know what adding some minor league guy is going to do...you wouldn't dare start them and a measly AB or two probably isn't going to make magic happen. Gio going down is a gift in my opinion. Now we get another arm in what surely will be a crazy two games in Milwaukee hitting the pen hard for all it can give.
  19. I would rather hope an offense with offensive firepower has a good day vs. hoping trash pitching puts up zeros. So at least we got that going for us.
  20. Counsell already said pitcher. Davies is pretty much a given.
  21. It isn't like we are trotting out Marcum in a Game 6 situation. I remember when Roenicke announced he was sticking with Marcum I opted to not even turn on the game...and that was the first postseason team for me watching the Brewers religiously (started in 2009). It ended up so predictable. This is a lot different than that though.
  22. Why not? In Game 6 we can bullpen it and that has proven to be better than any starter we face. To be honest we could turn around and do exactly the same in Game 7 if we want. It is a three game series at this point...total crapshoot. We get to see the same pitchers we just faced recently. Could help the offense do something. Whoever wins tonight might have a slight edge, but winning two games in a row against anyone really isn't much of a feat to overcome, especially if at home. I have watched the Brewers beat Kershaw, Bumgarner, and Kluber in person. Suter hit a homer off Kluber, garbage Schoop hit a grand slam off Bumgarner, and Woodruff took Kershaw deep. I think anything can happen at this point. At some point you look at this team and realize it is good and can hang with anybody. And in three games? The worst team in the league could best the Dodgers 2/3. Pretty sure we can think about that and not have it be unrealistic especially at home.
  23. No reason they can’t knock around Kershaw again. While it would be nice to win I hope we can avoid 2,000 “must-win” posts before and “the world is ending” is we lose. We can beat them two games in a row...it would just be nicer to not necessarily have to do so.
