  1. Biggest Dissapointment - Corey Knebel Can't say I didn't hit the nail on the head with that one.
  2. Well since Thames doesn't play LF....and NO Braun would not shift over to RF.
  3. I can almost bet the will bullpen a Wild Card game exactly how teams treat Game 7 of the World Series. Get 4 innings from our starter(heck even less and use a different starter). Ride Hader/Jeffress for 5 innings combined and have Soria if anyone struggles to pick up the slack. I doubt they start with the bullpen guys, but they could. Hopefully get a lead and feed off of it. Punt Game 1 of the NLDS if you have to, so what. Better to get there first.
  4. Who is giving up higher end MLB pitching for a good, but not elite bat? Easier said than done to be honest. We tried that with Santana and flat out failed.
  5. No...I don’t think the order of his streaks are going to make it any better when he is OPS+ing Arcia levels.
  6. Great decision...not signing Darvish was a great decision. Not trading a bunch of good prospects for Archer was just common sense. Not sure we went after him at the deadline, but surely did in the offseason. Glad we avoided this trap.
  7. “My Prius” Yah, that would bug me too man.
  8. Out of curiosity, why would you hate the slide rule? I can't see any reason to allow take-out slides, especially if the player isn't even aiming for the base. I could be wrong but it used to be if you could touch the base you could try to take someone out. Now you have to slide directly to the base. Do I have this wrong? No. You can’t deviate from your path towards second to slide into a runner. So basically if you start running inside or outside of second you can slide off the base. BUT if you do that you have to be able to get your hand on the base. You also can overslide the base as long as you can keep your hand on the base.
  9. Did the Braun saga, injury, and decline teach us nothing about unnecessary premature extensions?
  10. Since beginning of June: 279/329/397 Since beginning of July: 304/329/392 Which is inflated by his numbers this month. He was horrid in both June and July.
  11. The funny thing is half this forum wanted him cause of those big strikeout numbers...still getting those today if anyone is interested! Haha His FIP isn’t too bad either, maybe best on our team!
  12. Archer helping us out today and we gave up no prospects!
  13. Archer, they rarely if ever will call blocking the plate. They leave it up to review.
  14. Thank you Jesus, I couldn’t handle another strikeout from Aguilar.
  15. The way they are playing these days being in contention when the Tigers come visiting is going to be quite the feat.
  16. What did he do last summer that was so bad? Swarzak was a good addition. Walker was a good addition. Also way too early to say this season left a lot to be desired. Moustakas has been a good addition. Soria has been a good addition when healthy. Schoop not so much, but he still has time to salvage his time here. Well this year it seemed pretty given we needed a nice solid starter, he didn’t get that. If the pitching continues to just bomb thats going to look really bad at the end of the year. He just hasn’t done anything to take this team from fringe, to solid contender. Next year will be huge for him. If he turns in another fringe team in 2019 I’m going to be a bit concerned. I’m pretty neutral on Stearns so far. 2019-2021 is his time to shine in my opinion. He has to put an elite team on the field.
  17. Well everyone became a huge fan of Stearns when he turned us around so fast, which in his defense he had some nice moves to do so (Shaw and now Chacin). However he has left A LOT to be desired two July trading seasons in a row. He has traded/dumped many players (Segura, Davis, Gennett, and Villar(short sample)) who have all done better elsewhere making our returns look less than stellar. That is pretty brutal for only being here a short time. Maybe the difference is the people Theo puts under him vs. Stearns. They have drafted well with their top picks, have a good coach, and develop fairly well. You gotta get good people under you to be a great GM. The GM needs to get a good farm director and ways to find great players. The GM just makes the philosophy and final decision making. Regardless it is way too early to know how good or bad Stearns is. We won’t know that for years. He has done a lot of good and not so good.
  18. Stearns is well on his way of having just as many second half collapses as Theo has World Series rings. Pretty sure if he can win 3 World Series rings he is smart enough to manage a smaller market to success too if he wanted. How about Stearns put a World Series contender on the field first, that’s a good first step.
  19. And once again, runner on 3rd should have never been there. Chacin threw a strike on a 3-2 count. What else can he do on that? You count how many calls are incorrect in a game, it’s terrifying. That’s just a poor excuse. Happens all day long. Blame who you want. However the bases got loaded, that is the problem.
  20. I mean realistically you expect to score at least two runs after loading the bases with no outs...one hit or two sac flies. Jennings has been bad in certain situation of late, but hard to get mad there. If the bases were empty that would have been a nice inning.
  21. So a single, double play, and then a fly ball. That’s a clean 3 batter inning for Jennings. The real problem is loading the bases with no outs.
