  1. Arcia being 23 years old helps me with it but yes, he flails away quite a bit still. Only in his second full season, but even then I think it is apart of who he is. He really is good at putting together terrible ABs...strikeouts and not working counts.
  2. People who find Villar frustrating at the plate must have never seen Arcia bat. Come on Arcia....
  3. [sarcasm]Good thing our #5 is looking good for when we insert him.[/sarcasm]
  4. Seems crazy aggressive, but I suppose there's a chance they could consider a midseason promotion for Hiura. Mid-2019 more likely. Sure, one could dream on that. That isn’t coming any time soon even if it is this year. Though he has yet to prove he can play defense...so I don’t see this year possible at all.
  5. I just don’t get the constant talk about Villar’s leash. Our other options are trash too with no more potential ceiling. Why would you not want Villar to play when he has a near AS ceiling that could make this offense miles more dynamic. Sogard/Perez are cruddy #8 hitters that have zero SB speed and not so much power(Perez has speed, I correct my mistake). The improvement they would give over .240 hitting Villar is essentially nothing.
  6. Villar’s basement is equivalent to Sogard’s ceiling. His leash is long as it should. A drag bunt is a part of his game like HRs are apart of Thames game. Don’t try to downplay it.
  7. They should make it so Davies never pitches in April too.
  8. Needs to hit and reduce errors. Errors aren't everything, but being first in the league certainly is a bad title to have. His 20 were 8 more than third place. While looking that up I saw we had the most errors "leaders" at three positions: Broxton, Arcia, Villar.
  9. True injuries probably killed that possibility. Which could be in direct relation to his PED use.
  10. Braun got into this situation for two reasons. Half because of it coming out, which should have never happened. Secondly, because Braun did this to himself. I bet a lot of other players would go down a similar road if they had their test leaked. The sample collector didn’t do his job correctly and should lose his job. However for Braun to go after the guy, say terrible things, and claim the man tampered with it is downright pathetic. Typical rich guy with a big ego destroying the little man to stay on top. He saw a way to get out of his failed test that he knew he rightfully failed. It’s a grown man that can’t take responsibility and instead would rather try and hurt others for his greater good. Once again he isn’t alone in this. Other athletes would do the same in his situation. Melky Cabrera tried to make a fake website to get out of his. However Ryan Braun was at the top of the league and decided to be a terrible person. He was already under a microscope and unfortunately deserves everything he gets. It sucks. He would have went down as the greatest Milwaukee Brewer ever. A beloved guy who lives on for decades. Now he probably ruined that. Some of the best memories in 2011 towards the end of the season were likely aided by Ryan Braun cheating. That’s more irritating than anything. Personally I don’t really care about it all these years later. If other people want to hate on him fine, he deserves that. I’m not going to put him on a pedestal and love him for non baseball production though. When it comes to Braun I’m more frustrated with his crippled body than any else.
  11. Yes but then Thames faces a lefty, which he actually did well so oops Pina could have hit for Thames then. The order of the two doesn’t matter.
  12. Why? I was thinking you could use him for Thames and leave him for defense, assuming we never want Thames to face a lefty and seems like they are trying to rest Braun totally tonight. Could have used Pina to hit for the pitcher Aguilar can PH for the pitcher and shift to 1B for defense after the inning. It is done all the time. Who he pinch hits for doesn’t matter for his defensive placement the next inning.
  13. It isn’t whether Brinson is really good or not...it’s when he gets there. If he is a huge sensation this year or as early as next then the trade can look pretty bad for us. If he never becomes special or takes years it’s way different.
  14. Not even close LOL He was way behind on two of them and the way he ended his career I am shocked his career AVG is as high as it was.
  15. Santana can watch that every time. Not even close.
  16. MLB.com had to overlap Uecks call with FSWI so they could have his classic call without the utter fail.
  17. A sweep to start off the season? I think Suter has a big day in spacious Petco today.
