  1. We are not getting Kopech and Anderson for Santana and taking $23mil off their hands. Fun dream, but I don’t see why the Sox would dump two of their premium pieces for the future like that for one guy who isn’t a difference maker bat. Santana is good, but not All Star starter good. Using surplus value that trade could be close, but I don’t see it for the White Sox.
  2. I don’t think there is a conspiracy, but I do think that game was terribly lopsided when it came to referee calls. I do think it is taken to another level sometimes though. The Miles Jack fumble recovery I have seen many think they were robbed of a TD. However if I am not mistaken he got control of the ball and then rolled over the Patriot to the ground. Therefor making him down by contact.
  3. I don’t mind it...until they get something “right” and expect some kind of praise etc. There was that guy last year or the year before where his attitude wasn’t worth any information.
  4. Aggressiveness would probably hint the Brewers are that lone 5 year offer. That would give them a little power because if they drop out he may get stuck with all 4 year offers.
  5. If we acquired Jose Abreu and Yu Darvish there would be so much brown in my pants.... Don’t see Jose Abreu happening though.
  6. Yah, cause it would be pretty darn dumb to judge a player on 2 games. Do we ignore his NLCS and NLDS performances or his stellar 2012 Wild Care game? For a franchise that hasn’t seen a World Series since 1982 day I don’t think we should concern ourselves with World Series performance when we struggle to make the playoffs more than once every half decade.
  7. Wonder how much he cares about being “the man” in Milwaukee. He would almost essentially become the face of the franchise. Brewer fans have been dying for a TOR guy, he would have the potential to be a savior of sorts.
  8. Are you wetbutt23? No, he can’t be. HighHeat did seem to be right once and did not essentially request to be crowned King Brewerfan.net.
  9. Maybe we found a taker for Ryan Braun and we are about to trade Santana for a haul, sign Cain, and then sign Darvish!!!!!!!! Heard it here first folks.
  10. Something is just destined to happen this week. Attanasio almost seems to love for these things to happen before Fan Fest. And I can most certainly promise we aren’t trying to invest $100mil+ in Darvish to trade him next year. That is just an idiotic gamble that probably has a 75% chance of not working out. You would burn the most valuable year of control and assuming he plays well you would need the perfect market to trade that big of a contract. That kind of thought process is not happening at MP right now.
  11. When the rumor sn die down so we resort our time to investigating twitter profiles. This is what makes this site so amazing.
  12. No. It is not. A shame, but hardly surprising... Why it could mean a trade and Darvish? And to Clancy: It was reported a trade was getting serious/close. It was specific to a trade.
  13. Seems like I maybe know something. Not a lot according to my wife though. Well it only matters what the wife thinks. Haha
  14. No doubt.
  15. It is very peculiar we are getting close to a trade at the same time it gets reported we are offering Yu Darvish a contract. Seems like there is some connection to the two or quite a coincidence.
  16. I think we can stop talking about Braun. I don’t know who brought up that idea, but it doesn’t even make sense.
  17. In case some aren’t aware every single rumor being linked is from a highly questionable source(including HighHeat). I’d venture to guess MAYBE one person actually said something accurate and most are making stuff up.
  18. I already covered this at the start. Though I went with a Keon Broxton trade. Haha
  19. He does that to a lot of articles posted about him. I thought that emoji was more often used when it was something maybe not so accurate, but I can’t remember.
  20. And he will be 200x more likely to win a ring in NY and has about 3 years left to do so. How much does he care about playing time? I don’t think we eat a bunch of Ellsbury’s contract and sign a major FA, especially in the OF. That is a lot of money tied up in old OFers.
  21. So maybe this means we deal Santana first and then turn around and trade for Ellsbury And we plan to play Ellsbury over a guy like Brinson/Phillips? Hmmm...seems like a stretch. Ellsbury would not accept a trade without a promise of playing time. And I doubt we are trading two of our three young OFers and roll with two grandpas.
  22. The Ellsbury thing seems really hard to believe. Thinking about it more no way we would start him. Even if we trade any of Santana/Brinson/Phillips the other two are starting over old Ellsbury. That means we are either flat out releasing him or trading him(we just being a middle man). That would be purely a trade to gain prospects by using our payroll. Plausible idea, but seems doubtful to me. Anything around Ellsbury would be a serious flurry of moves and they would have to go perfectly.
  23. No if you buy 10 items at $20 a piece or 5 items at $20 a piece the price doesn't come down same concept here. Not the same concept. The right concept would be 5 good items at $20 a piece or 5 good items and 5 rotten items for $20 a piece. After you throw out the 5 bad pieces the 5 good pieces really just costed you $100 while option one it costs $50. If the amount of years comes down the price is much better and allows the Brewers a chance to enter the race or at the very least a better chance. Lesser chance of rotten years. You are assuming all pieces are created equal and we know as you add more pieces(years) they become worthless.
  24. The yankees writer who reported the rumor claims that Albert Abreu would be coming to Milwaukee. He was signed when Stearns was still in Houston. No, that is not what he said. The writer was doing pure speculation like any of us saying if Ellsbury was coming here we would get prospect(s) back for eating salary. Abreu was simply an example. EDIT: I see he made an updated tweet saying Abreu was the rumored piece.
