  1. Well I can promise you that is not going to happen. Something else has to fall. Santana is not going to be some 4th OFer/1B. They will have to either trade Braun(lol), Santana(bet my life on it), or Thames.
  2. I don't know. The owner has already been willing to dole out for the right player at the right time. That player at this time would certainly fill that bill. Well he just tossed $80mil at Lorenzo Cain which if my memory is correct is the largest FA deal in Brewers history. Of course they could have an absolutely insane offseason including a Santana trade plus a big time starting pitcher addition through free agency...but even I would have a hard time pulling that off in a video game. That would just be unreal.
  3. I do agree with this. I think Arietta is more likely. I would be skeptical we can afford to sign Darvish. I heard rumblings Darvish still might garner upwards of $150...we won't be in the running at that.
  4. Absolutely, I think the two are independent since (1) we have payroll to spend, and (2) Santana seemingly has to be traded at this point. My dream scenario would be adding both Darvish and Salazar. (I don't think Archer is realistically available at this point, certainly not for Santana who gives Tampa Bay 0 extra years of team control) Oh of course they are independent...though while we could work Santana in the line up somehow I definitely feel a trade is lined up somewhere. It would put a lot of pressure on the payroll though unless it is front loaded. I guess it helps the Braun money will come off the payroll in the not so distant future so years 4/5 would be all that bad on the Cain and Darvish/Arrieta combination.
  5. Would anyone dare to propose them trading Santana for say Salazar/Archer and then STILL getting Darvish/Arrieta. Think I would wet myself for hours. I mean...it could be done especially if the free agency deal for the starter gets frontloaded. What a team that would make. Yu Darvish supposably wanted to know the Brewers could compete.....just saying.
  6. I am going to bet we are very aware of what we can get value wise for Santana if we made this move. I wouldn't be surprised if they are in the late stages of a trade involving him. We don't create a logjam involving a good player needing to be moved out unless we know already what he is going to fetch.
  7. Brewers want to minimize Ks. The motive here is that obvious...
  8. PLease age well, amazing deal if he does.
  9. Trying to cut down on Ks it seems. Good. Wish we could add a nice starter some way though.
  10. So we traded to high risk OBP guys for a assures OBP guy? Sweet. How is that a concern?
  11. I wore my Brewers/Marlins shirt from the special away series at home games. I guess I am a fortune teller.
  12. It isn't even just that. Players like Yelish controllable for 5 years being shopped? That just does not happen. Getting the chance to add a player like that giving up high risk prospects(outside of Brinson) is pretty hard to pass up.
  13. I definitely expect some other type of major move. Whether that is a SP signing or trading Santana to recoup prospects and sign a Cain. Everyone everyone complains we don’t have that special bat in our order and we lacked “special” guys. Well here you guys go. We still have a solid farm to boot.
  14. I honestly really really like this deal for the Brewers. We just got an All Star caliber player for Brinson and a pair of high risk bats. They have potential, but a lot working against them. I love Harrison and wish him the best of luck. He puts it all on the field and deserves success. He was my favorite prospect and Diaz was another big time favorite for me. What a nice birthday present for me!
  15. So they made 2x the product(spend more on supplies/inventory etc.) to increase sales 16%. Is that actually that good? Do they have more attendance in there new stadium making the numbers misleading? Would this increase ticket sales in a MLB stadium(since football will sell out regardless). Also it was a new stadium and they went in early to see it and may have led to extra food sales that won’t happen in future years. That number alone is meaningless without more details.
  16. Lorenzo Cain’s stat line last year is such a tease because it is exactly what we could use on this team. That being said I can’t help but think how terrible a 4+ year deal with him would likely end up being. His game depends on his speed and defense which is going the wrong way. I don’t really want a long term OF featuring two poor defenders and an average one in CF.
  17. I know a close friend from SP and they always talk about Ski's. I may have to try it one of these days.
  18. Johnsonville has announced themselves as the official sausage of the Milwaukee Brewers. https://brewers.mlblogs.com/johnsonville-steps-up-to-the-plate-as-official-sausage-of-milwaukee-brewers-miller-park-3dc41d961563
  19. Those names are not getting changed, no way.
  20. I find it a bit odd to dub him untouchable and then leave him in relief. Not really. Late inning relief is becoming the preference across MLB in a lot of cases. Indians/Cubs made a World Series on the backs of elite closers in a sense. They are garnering big time returns and contracts because bullpens rule in the postseason. I know someone wrote an article about the importance of a good bullpen and elite arms...and teams are starting to notice this. Josh Hader is so valuable in the bullpen. Unless he could be a #2 starter or better he is best in the bullpen.
  21. TELl me when they start making fresh like the Chicago stadiums...til other all the sausages at Miller Park suck regardless.
  22. I am sure you could had time to put together a post that big with your 6000 posts. Haha that is true. I guess it is more the type of post. Not my cup of tea to invest time in. Nothing personal against the poster just so things are clear.
  23. With our small market we should be blessed to have two pro teams and another in this state. The support is no where near there to support NHL.
  24. Welcome to the forum. I wish I had time to dream that big and put together such a post that is (no offense) pretty unrealistic. Videos game dreams are fun.
  25. Should be noted the Giants don’t seem to be in the market for Lorenzo Cain anymore...so his price probably isn’t not trending up at this stage. Should we trade an OFer that could be a real possibility.
