  1. Not even remotely close. Peralta had one decent year and Jungmann like half a year. Miller has three great years and was an elite prospect.
  2. No and because he wouldn't be as cheap as you are hoping. One would probably have to pony up a decent prospect to pry him loose. Has beens Taylor/Roache/or Coulter aren't going to get him. Why do I think this? Because this is the same team trotting out a mediocre Greinke on a horrible team and say they will not pick up a penny of the contract while also needing a huge haul to trade him. This when any sane person would probably pay money to get rid of him for a bag of balls.
  3. The Indians may get Champman which could end their pursuit of Lucroy. If that happens and the Rangers get the big time starter they want we could be in trouble.
  4. Frazier has more RAW power by a good margin. However who knows if he will ever fully tap into it.
  5. We are talking about the same team that may not trade for a catcher when they currently trot out guys worse than some pitchers when it comes to hitting. They want to stick with the veteran. Just my guess as many teams do that every year.
  6. I don't think I would have a preference. If they want the better athlete/talent you go Zimmer. Amazing set of tools at a premium position that he defends well. However looking at the Brewers overall needs in the system Frazier and his raw power would look incredibly well down on the farm. We could use a power corner outfielder like him. Also thanks for the Diaz article..would love to get him from the Indians in a trade.
  7. Yes that helps with Smith. If Chapman was also off the market and others like McGee & Abad are taken off market or get dealt, it would also help the value.. The big thing is Miller was also a controllable elite lefty reliever. With him likely off the board that may make Smith the best lefty on the market(unless I am missing someone). There are some teams specifically looking for lefty relief help and the Brewers may have the best thing on the market.
  8. Yankees are not looking to trade Miller which is good for Smith's value.
  9. Well they want five top prospects. Lucroy is worth two, Arcia is another, Phillips is a third, and I guess you need Clark to get it to five. I guess in my mind someone flips Lucroy for two prospects. Whether we do that prior to a trade of if the White Sox do it themselves. I understand those guys have downsides, but all prospects do. They are all still highly rated just like other teams prospects. I don't know if that offer truly wins it, but it would be a competitive offer. This is all just for fun though.
  10. So Lucroy and a bunch of garbage? Yah not happening. More like Lucroy, Arcia, and Phillips/Clark. That could probably get you in the running. Sale is ridiculously good, cheap, and controllable for a long time. Trading for him and flipping him doesn't make any sense unless the White Sox wanted MLB players which it doesn't sound like the do. If they did then it would take Lucroy, Braun after eat a ton of salary, Nelson, and Jeffress. Maybe less, but who even knows. Trading MLB players for Sale just to trade him would go down as the greatest transaction in eternity. Which then doesn't make any sense because we would get more prospects and more overall value trading them separately than trying to trade Sale alone. Though I guess we could get a Moncada if we were trading Sale...but again I'd rather have a good 15+ prospects than 5 or so we could get for Sale. Honestly I don't know why I am still typing. This idea is crazy since Sale is at the peak of value a player could possibly have. It's like paying $50,000 for a car worth $50,000 and say you are going to flip it. All you would do is flip it for the same amount or less. There is no potential for growth.
  11. Yes still done except on days with a specific uniform. That is why it seems we wear the blue BIG uniforms 5 days a week. If they're on the road, they also have to consider the home team's choice of jersey. If the home team chooses something close to navy blue (e.g. black), the Brewers will need to wear gray. Yah I think that is the only time they wear gray.
  12. I think it is more than what it appears. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a fued brewing with the White Sox and Sale. Sale was probably out to make a statement.
  13. Do the Brewers still let the starting pitcher select the game uniform? I know that used to be a thing (with exception of special uniforms on specifically scheduled dates). Yes still done except on days with a specific uniform. That is why it seems we wear the blue BIG uniforms 5 days a week.
  14. Well...that's one way to say you don't like a uniform. Guessing Sale tried to bring this up prior only to be told to live with it. Because I highly doubt he would go to such lengths without requesting not to wear them.
  15. If that is the best offers we get you suck it up and take the Red Sox offers. Lucroy can be worth whatever what we think is fair, but at the end of the day the offers we get are our options. Holding onto him is not going to make the offers better at this point and a ridiculous gamble. Sometimes players just don't have the market form and don't get what all the experts think they can get.
  16. Something tells me there weren't a lot of hugs going on in the clubhouse.
  17. I had a search for Chris Sale because I wasn't signed in and I saw the verified check mark next to his name. Maybe I just saw the check mark of someone else right above or below the fake Olney account though. The part about living with his mom is probably what got you. That sounds pretty accurate.
  18. Those parody accounts get people every year.
  19. Wonder if he blew up over the team planning to sell and/or because his name is on the block?
  20. Though the good news is that two of those teams would be without a big move and when you get oh so close to getting a high impact guy you likely turn to find another. That's when you hold out Lucroy and smile
  21. I saw it could just be the flu. Which would be quite a coincidence.
  22. Sale to Rangers would be a huge dagger for us trading Lucroy. Likely would take away a major team in the Lucroy chase.
  23. Yah I gotta temper expectations until he gets to A+ and even AA. Not like 21 is young at rookie ball and A-. In his short sample size he has been pretty horrid over at 3B. Currently sporting a fielding percentage near .850. I know errors aren't everything, but that is not acceptable. Nice to actually have a guy hit the ground running though.
  24. 70% is likely 2/3rds rounded up. So I am guessing he is saying the chances are more than 50/50, but not 100%.
