  1. I know you love Braun, but I just hope we are competing by the end of Braun's contract. Not to mention he will decline and his nice string of health to start this season won't last. He did not just go from a body of glass to great health. If he goes into July healthy and hitting well it is probably best for the future of this team to trade him. Assuming we get a really solid deal. You want to hang onto Braun for 2.5years of garbage baseball so he can hopefully help us on a 2019/2020 winning team? I'm not confident he can last half the year healthy none the less 2.5 years and still compete after that wait. All while spending millions upon millions? Most realistic scenario is we get stuck with an above average hitter who kills the majority of that value with poor defense all while paying him big bucks. Not to mention he may block a guy like Trent Clark from playing. At which point most fans will wish we dumped him at the 2016 deadline.
  2. Yah there is no way the Angels could do it. Prospects just aren't there nor would they take on the money. Braun (if traded) will likely go to a team on his no-trade list, but will waive it for, at worst, his option year being picked up. Which at $11mil isn't that bad. Though the Brewers could either kick in that money or the deferred money to make it happen.
  3. I remember a few years ago someone like Rick Porcello threw a CGSO without a walk or strikeout.
  4. Any stat gurus out there know how many times in MLB history a starting pitcher has gone deep enough into a game to win and won without a single K? I can't imagine it is too many. I don't think that is all that rare.
  5. Feel free to bookmark it. I won't hold my breath.
  6. Are you kidding me Ed Sedar? Wow I am so sick of him over at 3rd. That is a joke.
  7. Catcher at the visit: "Dude this is the pitcher. Throw a strike."
  8. He has hit many bombs this year...off the end of the bat. I am scared to see what happens if he actually hits it on the sweet spot. Someone actually might win that car.
  9. What an at-bat. Just up there trying to make some solid contact. That is why he can hit well over .300
  10. Solid job Braun...man this team is something else. And sorry Schroeder that wasn't a good throw. It was about 5 feet towards the dugout. Strong throw yes...not a good one though.
  11. You can slide past the bag. You just have to stay on the base.
  12. ...Hey could have used that Friday Villar. Thanks a lot.
  13. Stupid defense takes away a perfect inning from Peralta. Nice job fellas.
  14. Sadly that is still a good 20-30 points higher than what Segura has put up the last two years. As someone else said if he could hit .250 over the course of a year he might be a decent player...however unlikely that happens.
  15. Guerra actually has some decent pitches. I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of scouting reports on him allows him to have a nice string of starts similar to what Jungmann did.
  16. Unfortunately we can only send down so many of these guys. The options on the farm aren't really better and Lopez/Hader are probably not options at all. I guess we could put Cappy in the rotation....
  17. This team is not going to lose 106 games...or even close to that unless we trade Lucroy/Braun and trot out the worst offense in history. We have pitchers with 7+ERAs and that isn't going to last. We are not well over 100 losses bad. The team has an ERA of 5.60 and a team batting average of 225. They are on pace for 100 losses and that's with Luc and a healthy Braun. 106 losses is a special kind of horrible, and even I'm not going there but don't count these guys out just yet. And that ERA is going to go down because guys aren't going to sustain 7+ERAs all year nor are we going to trot out Hill/Flores if they continue to hit sub .200. Those things just aren't going to continue.
  18. This team is not going to lose 106 games...or even close to that unless we trade Lucroy/Braun and trot out the worst offense in history. We have pitchers with 7+ERAs and that isn't going to last. We are not well over 100 losses bad.
  19. When Hader is suppose to pitch
  20. I don't envision any notable name to come up and pitch. Probably just someone at AAA and I also don't think Wang is ready. He has just started at AA.
  21. His stats would get a huge boost if his power gets going. Lucroy is historically pretty mediocre with little power in April. I am not concerned one bit yet.
  22. Between Harrison, Diaz, and Gatewood every day I am assured to look at the T-Rats box score and walk away depressed.
  23. End of story. Honestly nothing else matters when it comes to Hader.
