  1. Did Aaron Hill pick #9 because he wanted to make it a tradition for the worst positional player to wear #9?
  2. Nothing to do with Lind...just the return it got. It was a very weak return(for any trade). On a value scale it was probably a 2/10. Not saying Lind was worth more than that, but one can't deny the return was very little. So do you trade Carter for some total unknowns or do you hold off hoping for better? Pretty low risk to take that gamble.
  3. Doubt they will trade him at the deadline just because teams will try to call his performance a fluke. I doubt they get much in a trade. If I am the Brewers if he is hitting well I keep him all year. A full year of performance would give him some solid value. There is no rush to trade him if you ask me. We have nothing in the minors pushing him out so might as well hold out for something good. Why rush and get some Lind type deal or worse?
  4. I think the powder blue really works with the Brewers' 80's set, much like it does the Royals' current unis, as long as it's updated and modernized a bit. I think it looks great when done right, and really like the Royals' and Rays' looks with it. That said, I can totally understand those that don't feel the same way, and totally agree that most of the old, clashing powder blue set (Twins, Cards, Phillies, etc) were hideous. I think it would be a really weird change to go to powder blue. The biggest problem is the yellow...Brewers would have to get rid of the yellow it once had because honestly contrasting colors don't work well with the powder blue. Dark blues and white work well though(see Rays/Royals). It will never happen...but I nice retro thought not related to the ball logo.
  5. How so? His stat line is horrid. 10 for 22 with 2BB, 2 2B,2 SB in last 6 games.... Now .333 average with .755 OPS for season... His Ks are not much... Didn't say he was having career performance however, from looks of it, he's starting to come on. Needs more Ks & power but season is FAR from horrid. Look at his stat line before yesterday. It was a joke. If one game can change his stats that much might as well take it with a grain of salt. Probably can't make any judgement after so little games because two 0-4 days and he is back to a bad stat line.
  6. How so? His stat line is horrid.
  7. You think the best prospect in our system is a left-handed Mike Fiers?
  8. Powder Blue...is never...ever...coming back.
  9. Not trying to be negative, but it should be pointed out MadBum and Locke were both awful when they faced Gennett and were handing out walks like candy on Halloween. Regardless for Gennett it is pretty impressive so far considering how bad he has been historically vs. LHP.
  10. On a serious note the fact Lucroy has that extra year makes it a little more plausible a trade could happen early, but even then it is a serious stretch. Most trades don't happen early because most are rentals. You don't want to trade for a rental in May and proceed to go like 5-20 in June. That would look really stupid so that is why most teams wait till last minute. You want to make sure you are truly in/out of the race. The other reason is most teams like exhausting internal options first before making a trade.
  11. So the real questions is if the Brewers would sign a 4 year contract with the Sky Sox to lock up a move into a brand new facility. A 4 year contract likely gets them 2 years in Colorado and then 2 years in San Antonio...potentially longer. This would avoid a Nashville type scenario. Thinking probably not since Colorado is so bad, but then again getting a brand new facility is really attractive for teams.
  12. At the end of the day if Tyrone Taylor ever wants to be anything useful he will have to improve his OBP skills and throwing him at MLB pitching will only get you Keon Broxton results.
  13. Tyrone Taylor doesn't deserve a shot. He has done nothing above A+. His OBP skills are awful, he has no power, and doesn't offer much on the base paths. The guy would have to hit .300 just to be worth anything. If he was hitting well I'd say go for it, but he isn't. I am not concerned with sending him down after so much experience because after Brett Phillips hits the majors we may never see Taylor for an extended time at the MLB level. If he was deserving of a shot I would be all for it.
  14. Wow that is some dumb baseball right there. Scooter Gennett showing some horrid defense today.
  15. I support walkking him because he is still a MLB player. He isn't totally incompetent. However the pitching change was an interesting choice.
  16. Why are they walking Gennett to get to a better hitter? And Jimmy Nelson forces a pitching change!
  17. Not sure about pinch running, but the answer is "Hurricane" Herb Washington, 31 SB 0 H Plus these Brewers: Mel Stocker, 4 SB 0 H Greg Martinez, 2 SB 0 H Broxton, now up to 3 SB 0 H Wow Washington never even had 1 PA, so all 31 were as a pinch runner. Some of the others on the list at least have some PAs And the dude has a World Series ring. He has more rings than plate appearances. His postseason stats...2 caught stealings
  18. Sure there are. Two. Carlos and Gomez. Not even sure Gomez would have gone on that.
  19. See I have always thought of Gennett as a pretty selective guy at the plate. He has always shown to have long at-bats and watch pitches from time to time. For whatever reason that just never translated into any walks. Probably too much swinging on first pitches. Clearly something in his head has clicked because he already has 5 walks and last year he only had 12.
