  1. I think the key in all of this was "compared to Khris Davis" Many have been praising his defense here with no comparison to Khris Davis.
  2. I don't care what anyone says Domingo Santana does not have this oh so great defense everyone likes to think he has. Strong arm? Sure. Everything else in his defensive game is pretty questionable though. It isn't bad by any means, but it doesn't really stand out as something notable.
  3. I highly doubt either Davies or Lopez get the call unless it is for extended time. Calling one up for a start or two would be extremely pointless. Just let someone spot start. We have Cravy and Capuano just to name a few.
  4. Islan Diaz was mostly because of picking up Aaron Hill. All up to Chase Anderson really.
  5. I would support sending Villar there. Most would with one out.
  6. It is accurate. I think whoever made the rule likes punishing players for what is a really really bad good play. I am not sure of the exact reason though. It might be related to the fact they are "letting him score" much like when you steal second and no one tries to cover the bag.
  7. Nelson looking good through...one inning. Nice command, kept the ball down, and his slider looked nice. Now if that can happen the next 200 or so innings...
  8. Probably two reason Peralta started opening day: 1. Veteran...more experience. Honestly if there is no clear best pitcher this is usually how it shakes out. 2. Peralta is a trade chip and saying he was your opening day starter is probably the equivalent of a couple sprinkles on a cupcake.
  9. Ahh Ed Sedar...I see you still haven't learned how to be a decent 3B coach.
  10. Record: 71-91 4th Team MVP: Jonathan Lucroy Home Runs: Chris Carter; 29 Wins: Wily Peralta, 13 Bold Predictions: 1. Ryan Braun fails to play 130 games. 2. Lucroy stays the entire season. 3. Someone establishes them as a decent CFer at some point during the season,
  11. Honestly I find that lot where they put all the buses in to be the easiest to get out of and it also has a nice shot back to the highway. It's a smaller lot and a huge chunk is buses.
  12. Monte Harrison should not be considered in the same sentence as Taylor, Reed, or other expandable players. He may have the highest ceiling of any OF in our system and very well could be Lewis Brinson in 2 years. He is a guy you would be kicking yourself for, can't give up on him because he struggled with his first advanced placement at 19 in A ball. Monte Harrison could be put on a bus and out of town real quick if it got a player the Brewers really like. Monte Harrison has a ceiling, but also has a pretty good floor too. He is no guarantee. I don't think Stearns would hesitate to ship him out of it got him a player he really wanted. Is Trevor Bauer that kind of guy? Probably not, but don't act like Harrison is untouchable. The big thing is such a situation where it makes sense for both teams is unlikely. So for that reason Harrison is unlikely to go anywhere for a long time.
  13. Not saying I am a Bauer fan or supporter of this idea, but why can't we give up prospects at this point in the rebuild? If we are adding another young controllable player it can be a good move. Let's pretend the Brewers love Bauer, think they can fix him, and few him as a potential ace. If the package to get him consisted of guys like Tyrone Taylor, Michael Reed, Devin Williams, maybe Monte Harrison, or other good yet expendable prospects why not? It isn't like Trevor Bauer is 28 years old or only is controllable for a few more seasons. He is young, controllable, and lots of potential. A move like that could make total sense for the right player. Not saying it is Bauer, but the idea isn't bad just because we would have to give up prospects.
  14. For whatever reason I decided to watch the soccer match when I flipped on ESPN and then I realized why I never watch soccer: 1.The only US goal wasn't scored by the US 2.The flopping is a total joke
  15. I think what a lot fail to realize is the revenue generated by these extremely rich athletes playing in Wisconsin. The numbers I saw had Wisconsin Taxpayers footing $400mil in the Bucks deal(includes interest). The state revenue off the Bucks state income tax will pay out $300mil just in the next 20years. Mind you that doesn't account for any yearly increases to what they collect so that number will likely end up higher. That is before any other benefit is considered. These franchises do bring in many nice jobs. Not only that, but think of all the other businesses benefitting from the Brewers. Hotels, bars, food establishments, Milwaukee tourism etc. etc. etc. Then let's think of who provides all their concession items. That must be a pretty big get for that company. There are tons of other local companies that get to provide something to Miller Park/the Brewers. Running a stadium takes a whole lot of man power and money. So yes to an extent using taxpayer money makes a lot of sense. These franchises bring in a lot of tax money so they are essentially paying for themselves. Assuming you do similar to what the Bucks did. If you do a Miller Park type funding you kind of screw 5 counties into paying for it. The state is probably already turning a healthy profit on Miller Park from all the income tax because that money doesn't have to go to the stadium.
  16. If you think Gennett has any chance to be even close to average vs. LHP you have clearly never watched him face LHPs. It is beyond bad and even with vast improvements it is still a giant joke. It is never ever going to happen. He is a platoon bat period. That is where his value is. I think he can be an amazing hitter facing RHP and valuable to a team, but that is where the line is drawn. Facing LHP is probably a reason he started off so badly. It can really screw with a hitter.
  17. Reffing in general is pretty inconsistent. Every officiating crew is going to call it a different way. Sometimes you are going to be on the good end and sometimes on the bad end. I feel most conferences have refs who are all pretty similar, but once you get into tourney play good luck. It is going to be a whole different ball game. There were questionable calls that entire game for both sides we just remember the last ones that unfortunately went against Wisconsin. It surely isn't the only game this tourney ending a bit questionable.Actually most games recently have has some questionable things happen at the end of the game. The ref that came screaming from half court to say he stepped out of bounds(Syracuse in the Sweet 16) and then the Kansas game last night was a bit messy at the end. I mean I could go on for days. The officiating is not consistent in CBB. This game doesn't stand out one bit.
  18. Jonathan Lucroy is arguably #2 in the entire MLB if we are looking at the next 2 years only. Would anyone be shocked if he put up 4 WAR each of the next two years? I sure wouldn't and only Posey managed that last year. I mean jeez people 2 years ago Jonathan Lucroy was the best catcher(statistically) in all of baseball. I am no huge Lucroy lover, but the guy is one of the best at a horribly thin position.
  19. Here is my view: Lets pretend there is no contact on that steal and the Wisconsin player doesn't fall/flop. Who is getting that loose ball? Notre Dame easily and the same result ensues. It isn't like the Wisconsin player was going to get that and instead was shoved out of the way. Really you guys are mad your team wasn't saved by the refs.
  20. Haha steamer projections...you cannot be serious, right?
  21. Don't forget Doug Melvin getting stung by a scorpion trying to pick it up with a tissue.
  22. Ryan Braun is a good reason why we need a 5th outfielder. Soon enough Chevy will have an advertisement featuring a truck taking Braun out to left field so he doesn't get injured or aggravate an injury. Looks to be another year of nagging injuries where he needs rest, but not enough to go on the DL. So basically we need a back up for Braun and then another one to cover the other two spots.
