  1. That was bound to happen for someone. Get ahead in that count that many at-bats in a row and someone is going to square something up.
  2. Should have sent that belt high fastball far far away...dang it.
  3. The FS Wisconsin truck must be celebrating 4/20 today. He had the count as 1-0 when it was actually 2-1 then he had Milone pitching to Braun for 3 pitches.
  4. What an at-bat by Villar. Sealed the book on the starter not making it into the 6th inning.
  5. Not to mention possibly having to switch insurance providers and all that fun jazz.
  6. Victor has been on fire the past two days...6/8 at the plate.
  7. Except Riley Pint is 6-4 and with room to bulk up. Riley Pint looks more like a true starter vs. some other past HS flamethrowers similar to Jeffress. Pint already has a really good breaking ball and he also has a solid change-up he can improve on. The one huge concern with Pint is probably the injury risk. Too me it seems he has a lot of high effort in his delivery(notably his arm). I don't know I really question if he can survive and get to the majors healthy. Hard to predict injuries, but they do seem to hit guys like Pint a lot. Someone will take a chance on him since the potential is probably higher than anyone in the draft. If the dominos all fall right you probably end up with one of the great pitchers in the game. The floor is scary low too though...like Mark Rogers injury train low. I would be surprised if he wasn't taken in the Top 3 and I don't think there is any way(aside from an injury) he gets outside the Top 5. Hard to say what team that will be, but I just don't think 5 teams will pass on that arm.
  8. I think I mentioned this back when this (idiotic) idea was mentioned by Manfred that you can't really increase runs scored and shorten games. Causing more runs makes the games longer not shorter.
  9. Riley Pint hit 100mph today...high school...kid...100mph.
  10. I hope he got a baseball inspired name!
  11. Key stat for Peralta, 9 ground ball outs. Which is what a good Peralta does. It allows him to get out of all the jams he puts himself in.
  12. Baseball Logic Such a ridiculous stat, lol. While wins probably shouldn't be associated with a single pitcher regardless, if you really want it as a pitcher stat, I wonder if simply changing it to the first pitcher to leave the game with the lead (in a game where their team ends up winning) as the the criteria would cancel out the majority of these silly results. It would give the starter the best chance to receive it (who almost always is the pitcher with the most innings/greatest affect on the game) and won't discount him as much for all the scenarios that are out of his hands once he leaves. See at first I understand not to give it to Peralta because he didn't do enough to make the Brewers win, but then again if he only goes 4 2/3 the official scorer can give it to anyone. So why can't we give it to anyone we want if someone like Thornburg really just blows the lead? Why not just have no one win the game in that case!? Good thing they are meaningless and no one educated cares about them.
  13. What a crime against baseball that would be. Lets not reward people who fail to learn how to hit it to all fields. The DH is waaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of outlawing shifts and that is still well off ever happening.
  14. Wily Peralta with a 3.60 ERA on the day, take that haters!
  15. [sarcasm]Should have gone with Aaron Hill.[/sarcasm]
  16. Most people would agree...unfortunately there is a giant pile of money well entrenched there as he begins to get really old.
  17. What did he do? Thornburg gives up a bomb(OK), a single(umm...), then a HR to tie the game(oh great)...then he still leaves him in and nearly gives up a third HR. I mean I don't know what the goal is here. Clearly Thornburg was not doing well and not taking him out after the second HR is a bit ridiculous. Seemed like he was really set on Thornburg to go the entire inning even if he gave up 10 runs.
  18. Might as well give up another bomb so we don't waste the bullpen playing extra innings.
  19. Counsell fails to amaze me. I hope we can find a good manager once this team is on the upswing to competing.
  20. I get sad every time our CF comes up to the plate...wow.
  21. Nothing like a good ole December 31st baby.
  22. This is the best one...but I remember him actually getting some in the mid-60s for strikes.
