  1. Keon Broxton needs to go to the minors. He is not an MLB player right now...not even remotely close.
  2. Who's bucket list is it not on? Great ballpark and also can't wait to visit it someday.
  3. That is what Scooter Gennett needs to do if we are going to play him vs. lefties. He is never going to hit them well, but if you can get 5+ pitches and draw a walk occasionally that is perfectly fine.
  4. Jimmy Nelson that inning... Fastballs- 13 Knuckle Curves- 3 2 of the off speed pitches were way off the plate and the other was McCutchen's hit.
  5. I would be pretty patient to when I know I am not going to get a strike. Kind of obvious he was going to get nothing to hit with the pitch...I mean Hill behind him.
  6. I wonder who holds the record for most steals without recording a hit(not including pinch running). Broxton might have a shot.
  7. Nelson has done really good at getting in on the hands of the Pirates and getting soft contact with his off speed stuff.
  8. Aaron Hill got on due to catcher's interference...hit his glove with the bat. Prior to that Carter got on after he smoked it right back at Locke hitting his foot and it went flying over towards the 1st/2nd base hole. Ended up as nice race to the bag which ended in a virtual tie.
  9. No one thinks the sky is falling, but it could really quick and I don't think anyone would be surprised if Lucroy got some bad injury. He has a pretty good list of injuries so far. If Lucroy gets injured before the deadline we could be in big trouble. What if Lucroy gets injured and returns, but just doesn't hit well? Then no one will be too excited about him in the off season. There is a ton of risk and people see that.
  10. Surgery for what? The Red Sox made up a phantom injury to put him on the DL. They're on the way to releasing him. I propose acquiring him cheap, then spinning him off next year. Might be able to get prospects out of both deals, assuming he commits himself. People are just assuming that because he's gained weight, that he won't commit himself to the sport. That's like saying that once people become wealthy, they just get lazy...no, they usually keep working their asses off He has a shoulder injury and is seeing a second doctor for it. I don't know how serious it is, but I don't think it is fake. This also just isn't a guy who got a little fat. He supposedly gained 21 pound in 21 days! That is a serious issue and not just a "Go eat a salad Pablo" type fix. I see little to no upside even if his weight goes to a manageable side. He would still be very overweight and about to go on the wrong side of 30. Honestly he wasn't even that good before going to Boston. 2/3 of his last years in SF he had a WAR of about 2.
  11. Brewers have swung at the least amount of pitches in baseball this year. The last two years they were the team to swing at the most. Even better they have swung at the least amount of pitches out of the strike zone. Though they have also swung at the least amount in the zone too. I hope it becomes one of those things that can rub off on players and become an organizational thing. The results are pretty bad because our hitters are pretty crummy right now, but if it can rub off on the likes of Arcia/Phillips/etc. it will be a success in the end. http://www.fangraphs.com/community/the-brewers-arent-swinging-anymore/
  12. Alright which one of you did this: http://inningseaters.sportsblog.com/posts/15892782/milwaukee-brewers-fan-licks-puke-in-the-bleachers.html
  13. Pablo likely headed toward surgery. More likely he retires before ever getting traded.
  14. Not saying Gallardo was an ace, but he was a heck of a lot closer to one than Nelson is showing right now. I don't see the pure dominance some are hinting at here. When I watch Nelson(right now) I think solid #3 starter. There is nothing about him that just jumps out at you when watching him. He does have the potential to be a little flashier though. i think we are all just so used to boring pitchers Nelson seems a little more exciting than he actually is.
  15. Except Peralta was never that good and even in his one decent season the issues he has now were apparent. However those issues have now been exponentially worse leading to total ineffectiveness.
  16. Already forget about Yovani Gallardo? Nelson has had two good starts, but no need to jump the gun here. Gallardo was painful to watch. Im not just saying Nelson is a good pitcher, I said he is enjoyable to watch. Gallardo was the king of the 20 pitch 1-2-3 inning and that just isnt fun to watch on TV. I guess everyone can have their opinion, but 2009-2011 Gallardo was pretty fun to watch...especially that first half of 2010 that sent him to the All Star game.
  17. This argument doesn't make much sense. People buy the "barley M" uniform because they want to own what the brewers wear on the field. These people would switch to the new logo and probably replace all of their old merchandise over time. I don't think if the brewers went "retro" full time their uniforms would look just like they did in 1992, so it would still be the best of both worlds. The brewers know that the average fan has only so much they can spend on merchandise, so even though the brewers do a great job on capping it with new and special uniforms and merchandise each season, the best way to get people to buy new stuff is a full change.
  18. Already forget about Yovani Gallardo? Nelson has had two good starts, but no need to jump the gun here.
  19. A lot of it has to do with people not wanting to think about floors. Nottingham(could easily not end up at C) and Hader(could end up in the bullpen) have pretty sizable floors compared to their ceilings. People like drooling over Nottingham becoming 2008 Geovany Soto and Josh Hader becoming a borderline ace. Which there is nothing wrong with that. Just the way a lot of members like going with when ranking guys. Many frown upon guys with not so great stats, but the tools(Medeiros, Taylor, Williams, Gatewood, Harrison).
  20. Peralta is probably another few disaster starts from hitting the DL for something.
  21. I think most of us can at least agree that the current font they use HAS to go. It just has to. It isn't horrible by any means, but I feel it is so easy to make something better. Personally I like the glove logo as an alternate and would want to keep it that way. I know most are really welcoming of the glove logo on the navy uniform, but I am just not feeling it. It just does not look right to me. I also do not like the yellow either and prefer the gold. In all honesty I really don't like the navy jerseys in general though.
  22. Reed needs to stay at AAA unless they want to give him full time at-bats.
