Honestly, I've reached the conclusion that it's best for the Brewers if Jed Bradley is pitching for one of the 29 other MLB systems. I think there are other pitchers who need the innings he's taking. Then just release him. He is worth nothing in a trade.

The Brewers must not feel too bad about this Gomez injury if they plan to still trade him.

Injured Gomez is a horrible sign. Unless teams don't see what the Mets see we are stuck with Gomez till at least the off season.

Makes complete sense. Wheeler is VERY damaged goods and you can't make a guy like that a centerpiece. But how did such a deal get leaked so badly? It was like any other deal. Some rumors before and once everything is set(besides medicals) the media runs with it like it is a done deal. In most cases medicals are fine, but here it wasn't.

The awkwardness of this whole thing will get a cherry on top if Gomez plays tomorrow...I think he will be traded before then, but wow would it be weird if he does play. Though it would be nice to say goodbye at home.

Cardinals just lost Holliday so they could use him even more. Would love to get Alex Reyes OR Piscotty (if the Brewers think he can play 3B) and some of the Cardinals second-tier pitching prospects. A trade like like within the division would be extremely unlikely...nearly impossible.

A deal with the Mets won't happen now. Sandy made that quite clear. Wheeler was the only guy of value they could really part with.

If the deal was agreed upon it would be horribly not right to back out if a better offer suddenly comes in. If that was the case and the Mets found out the Brewers would probably get in a lot of trouble. You can't just use his elbow as an excuse to back out to grab a better deal. I don't think that is the case. The physicals were truly the problem if you ask me.

Seems strange that they would be able to review a complex medical record that quickly though. Not if there was something extremely off. May have been something major.

Not a big deal. Teams aren't in control of the articles posted on there for the most part. Even MLB accounts will announce these trades before official. MLB Facebook and Twitter both announced the Gomez deal.
