  1. Unfortunately this issue will never fix itself until either a) A lot of players come out together or b) if a big time player comes out. Because let's be honest one guy here or there doesn't really help nor does a bunch of scrubs coming out. Until they make themselves noticeable in the big picture we will still have these issues. I wish it wasn't like this because I find it annoying and I simply don't care. Gay? Cool, go play baseball. I really wonder what would happen if these gay players just let it go. Tell people close and not make a big media announcment. What is the media honestly going to do if you just refuse to talk about it and not make it a big deal yourself? Regardless I don't really care. If this makes him feel better that is all that matters.
  2. So when we are competing everyone's arm falls off because no one has pitched 200innings in the prior year? Fantastic idea... Odds are these pitchers are long gone before innings start effecting them. Taylor Jungmann is the only concern for the future in that sense. Peralta and Nelson are both workhorses.
  3. First of all Shane Peterson should not really be playing CF. Not saying he is bad or anything, but probably not a good example. He would be at a corner position if he could get ABs there. Let's remember LF is 344ft. while CF is 400ft. That is a BIG difference. You can pretty much hide Davis' arm in LF, but in CF anything over his head and to the wall will score anyone from 1st. His poor arm would be very noticeable in CF.
  4. Between Arcia, Lara, Rivera, and Iskenderian, why not deal Gatewood? The Brewers are still getting a SS/3B in return (Cordell), and if Gatewood and some package (Cotts? K-Rod?) nets Kepler... that gives the Brewers a first baseman and left-handed bat. Because out of all those players Gatewood is one of the better possibilities at 3B. Lara could be a possibility too, but he has to add power which is a total mystery at this point...could come and might never materialize. We don't have a big logjam at SS like many tend to think. Rivera is not a starter while Iskenderian is a college hitter doing well in rookie ball as would be expected. The other two are likely to end up at 3B so I would say we are balanced not to mention a lot of these guys are in the low minors. Why rush to trade away depth? Why not wait to see if Arcia is actually good and if these guys can actually stick at SS? EDIT: Just saw Iskenderian is a 2B so add that to another reason why this doesn't sound like a good idea. Iskenderian is the only one with a future at 2B(Rivera could...but he doesn't seem like a future starter).
  5. That is not very good value for Khris Davis...and that is before considering you are throwing Gatewood away too.
  6. I live in the northern/central area of Wisconsin in a rural area and I don't even know a single person with US Cellular. So either that statement isn't true or we are all doing it wrong. Majority up here have Verizon and some have AT&T...As someone who moves around Wisconsin quite a bit Verizon works almost everywhere I go.
  7. Despite popular belief the GPS Navigation shouldn't use very much data. On my Android Google Maps uses little to no data. I think you can actually use virtually no data if you load your plans while on Wi-Fi. The biggest burner is loading the maps right at the start. It could add up if you are using it all day on the job which I have no experience with. Now I would assume it is the same for IPhone's, but I could be wrong. Like stated start with the smallest plan. You can always increase it if need be and your provider will be quite fine.
  8. "Occasionally" and "quite a bit" are kind of vague as far as quantifying purposes go. I used mine what I'd consider to be less than "quite a bit" last month and still used 6GB. I guess it depends on what you do too. If you start listening to Pandora(music app) or start watching baseball videos/YouTube you will burn data fast. Just to use it for internet browsing and things like that will use it much slower.
  9. It's hard to really predict how other teams will look compared to us in 2018 and beyound. Maybe the Cardinals won't be a powerhouse, maybe the Cubs have some pitching struggles, maybe Pittsburg is average, and maybe the Reds flop. All you can worry about is your team and the Brewers are giving themselves a bright future. Make yourself a 90win potential team and hope to strike some luck...that is what every team does every year. Coming into the season a lot of people were handing the Nationals the NL East and claiming them a 100win type team. Now they are just hovering over .500. No team ever goes into the season confident they can win the division. It takes a lot of hard work and luck. Many times the standings don't end up close to what preseason predictions looked like.
  10. If all these big markets are getting giant TV deals it means the Brewers one will go up too. In theory there should just be more money and the gap between small and large markets shouldn't change. The Brewers will get a new TV deal soon too.
  11. For a single person 1GB is good if you only use it occassionally. I use it quite a bit and won't ever go over two. As far as trying not to go over Apple doesn't have a setting for that? On my phone(HTC One M8) you can get warnings and even force it to stop once it hits a certain point.
  12. So to have trade value we must ignore MLB production and worry about how he was rated as a prospect? I have never heard, after 1,000 MLB plate appearances, a players trade value be effected by his prospect ranking. Unless of course you are a big time prospect that still has potential to grow. But to have your prospect ranking negatively effect you well into your MLB career? That just seems unreal. I think in a way, it does. Many feel that lower-end prospects that made it are a fluke, or don't have the pedigree. Look at the way people looked at Fiers, or Podsednik, or Brady Clark. These weren't "prospects", they were guys who had arguably successful careers, but we were waiting for the other shoe to drop. They never had the blue chip label. I think that's why many casual fans aren't surprised by Jungmann. They knew he was a #1 pick, so his success was assumed...while Cravy was a lower pick, who will revert back to expectations. I'm not sure this reasoning is logical, but it is somewhat prevalent. It does in the short term...like the examples of Jungmann/Cravy, but I think Khris Davis is past that point. I think there is a good idea of what Khris Davis is and can be.

  14. Khris Davis is worth that. It obviously takes the right team though too. The Brewers would not make sense as a fit for Davis as they would want the player with more control. If you are a power starved team with a painfully bad corner outfielder you would be drooling over a guy like Davis. I don't really like the Santana example though. He is also a corner outfielder and MLB ready. Maybe a guy at a different position that is blocked makes more sense as an example. A lot of people would want to role the dice on the prospect, but if you have a 3B prospect and Khris Bryant is your starter it is a totally different story.
  15. If he was so scared of his image being ruined he wouldn't have used PEDs in the first place so I am not really buying that argument. It was actually probably less of a risk after that because everyone outside of Milwaukee already hated him so what was there to lose? Not too much. The first test already killed everything outside of Milwaukee.
  16. I can almost bet he was not tested more in 2012 as his failed test was thrown out...So really the failed test just dissapears. MLBPA would not allow such extra testing on Braun in 2012. You can't just test him more due to a test that was thrown out...at least not quietly. And why not keep using? It is quite clear it isn't very hard to not test positive. When Biogenesis came out I believe there were only 3 players to ever test positive. Not to mention A-Rod has been a career user and has never tested positive(or was he before they were enforcing it?). Regardless many players used them and many still do while passing their tests. Claiming Braun didn't use them in 2012 or at any point prior to 2011 just because he didn't have a positive test is foolish.
  17. It's easy to blame him for drafting, but it takes a good 5+ years to even accurately gauge how good/bad of a job they did in any given year. So if you start drafting poorly in 2009 you won't know till just last year. Then suddenly you have a string of 5 poor years and you had no chance to change it. It is partially his fault, but it is an easy thing to just fail at since you need so many years to figure out how well it went. As far as giving garbage players too many PAs I think that comes to Attanasio's need to compete every year in the past. The payroll was getting maxed out with so many bigger contracts that they were forced to take scrap heap players to fill out the roster. The philosophy to compete every year really forced this issue. On the topic of someone not wanting to leave a top powerhouse(St.Louis) that is total BS and false. These guys all started at the bottom of the ladder and dream of being at the top. The example given (UWM vs. Harvard) is a joke. That is like comparing the Brewers to a high school baseball team. MLB team prestige is not that great of a difference from team to team. Everyone not a GM on another team would love to have the Brewer's GM job unless they don't want to be a GM in the first place.
  18. The way he keeps pitching I wouldn't be surprised to see him sneak in there. I think the inability to develop pitching is a bit overblown. We have developed a lot of solid mid-rotation guys, but just have not struck gold with an ace. Lopez should become another solid #3
  19. Well if he was truly taking PEDs for injury problems maybe it is a major part of his game. So then PEDs would be a huge help to him and make a big difference. He has been a crippled mess since biogenesis unfolded.
  20. Honestly I would stay away from the IPhone if you don't have a bunch of Apple products in your house. As far as what phone you don't seem like someone who needs the new thing so it would make sense to just go with a phone you get free with plan. That is assuming you are getting a plan.
  21. That's is the thing: Melvin wasn't great, but he also wasn't bad. How many of these great GMs are there? I think I could count them on one hand. So yeah Melvin didn't end up being the great savior, but those are hard to come by and I wouldn't ever hold my breath on it ever happening. Teams win the WS with normal GMs like Melvin. On another note I am surprised no one on here has mentioned Attanasio actually talk about his planned rebuild. He would like it to be done in 2-3 years, BUT would not try to force it too quickly. So it is nice to see Attanasio commit to a rebuild.
  22. Probably a good idea. I know people want Melvin gone outright, but if you want a young GM it wouldn't hurt to have a guy with experience helping you out. Avoid rookie mistakes.
  23. That is the problem though. There isn't a Tulo package on the other end and that is what people should assume. We could pay money or take a iffy Reyes like contract and still not get an elite prospect. Tulowitzki has a lot more value on and off the field compared to Braun. Not to mention trading Braun would be incredibly difficult unless it happens before the end of the year. He can either exercise his no trade clause or demand something like that 2021 option being picked up after the year finishes.
  24. Way way down? No Way down? No Down? Maybe One down year is not going to tank value. Greinke sported a 4.17ERA with drastically worse numbers than his prior year, but yet we still coughed up a package like he was a Cy Young. Also important to note before 2010 Greinke really was not that good. So despite only one stellar year he still garnered that mega deal. Lucroy has a good track record and it won't tank his price like he is a .240 1 WAR hitter. Maybe teams don't think he is a 6 WAR hitter, but he still is a solid 3.5 WAR type guy. Probably better to trade him now before he starts turning in another sub par season.
