  1. he has to say that in case Wheeler medicals don;t please Milw. Most GMs will just be mum on the subject...He just came out and flat out said it won't happen. There might be something to this.
  2. The other thing pulling me off the ledge is the fact that Carlos Gomez hasn't been all the great this season, let's be honest. If he were having another MVP campaign, might be a different story. Agreed. If he was having a huge healthy season the entire league would be bulldozing the front doors of Miller Park down. Sadly he isn't and we took a fair trade. We could have waited, but a major injury or continued average play and we could have really gone south in trade talks.
  3. Or maybe the Mets were the only team to submit a serious offer. I get why fans are pessimistic given Attanasio is our owner and a full out rebuilding plan is something he seems to loathe the idea of, but for now at least, we can only guess if other teams made an offer for Carlos and if so, who were the players offered. I am not being pessimistic myself, but I do think the fact both guys are MLB experienced means something. It could mean nothing, but quite the coincidence don't you think?
  4. This trade definitely showed they preferred proven MLB ready guys. One guy will quickly become our #1 pitcher when he is healthy and another guy will immediately be our 3B(I would guess). Will be interesting to see if this is a trend in other deadline deals we make in the next 2 days. Signs are pointing to a slight rebuild, but in theory a quicker turnaround.
  5. Who replaces Lucroy? Right now, it's Maldonado (.523 OPS), Centeno (.589 OPS - in COLORADO SPRINGS), or Weisenburger (decent OBP at AA, but getting older) in-house, meaning the Brewers go on the free-agent market for... who? Well you sign a free agent this off season or next offseason...you could trade for one. I mean there are many ways. We don't need to get Yadier Molina in his prime to play there.
  6. I am afraid the Brewers are trying to compete in 2017. That's great and all except that would mean we take Lucroy into his final year here and risk losing him for a comp pick...which I am no fan of.I hope they trade him, but this makes me a little worried they might not now.
  7. Wilmer Flores should not be playing SS. No one thinks he can play there...Mets did it out of complete need. He really needs to be at 3B or possibly 2B. Clancy doesn't value defense. At all. Wait is Clancy the guy who wants Braun back at third?
  8. Wilmer Flores should not be playing SS. No one thinks he can play there...Mets did it out of complete need. He really needs to be at 3B or possibly 2B.
  9. I swear you people will complain no matter what. Everyone cries for a high upside pitcher and we finally find out how to get one and all you people can do is complain about some negatives. Yup he isn't Syndergaard and we had no chance of getting someone that perfect. If we want a front line starter we had to take a guy with some baggage. Unless of course you want to trust our garbage scouting department on finding guys in the low minors. No thanks. Hopefully you guys can realize what reality is like and not this perfect world where teams throw around Syndergaard type players. .
  10. Parra in CF every day? That would end up not so great. Parra should/will/hopefully be traded too.
  11. Thus deal is actually far from over. At the least the Mets have to check out a nagging injured Gomez and the Brewers have to accept an injured player who is out all year. Lots of issues could come up.
  12. I imagine Flores will stay in the whole game. Remember the Mets are trying to win a game. It would be weird if we kept Gomez in after a trade mid game...Flores not so much. Though that would be risky...so maybe deal isn't done?
  13. Segura is about as close to worthless as you can get at this point...he isn't good and teams know that.
  14. A player of energy I wish more had. He truly loves the game and goes 110%. He will be missed.
  15. Zach Wheeler has tremendous upside. More upside than any Milwaukee pitcher could dream of. Easily their best pitcher.
  16. Sounds like Segura is on borrowed time to me, and Scooter. Flores has a ton of pop and plays SS/2B. Wilmer Flores is NOT going to play SS.
