  1. I don't if I would. Segura could be a decent 2B, while Sardinas is too much of a light hitter. He really needs that SS defensive value to be valuable to a team. Though I guess something at 2B is better than nothing. So maybe Sardinas and his more years of control become a factor. Because come 2016/2017 whoever is sitting at SS is moving regardless. Seems pretty obvious Arcia is hitting the bigs over at SS. Segura can not hit well enough to play anywhere but SS. He could play 2B if his hitting improved a touch. Will that ever happen?...maybe, maybe not. Maybe trade Segura now and let Sardinas try to prove himself at the MLB level. Then just trade him when Arcia is ready. I just don't think either is really all that attractive to move over to 2B. Either guy would have to hit a good .280/.320 to be even average on the other side.

  3. What? You mean you don't like him joking about how much he sucked as a catcher/MLB player EVERY SINGLE GAME? Seriously someone needs to tell him to stop talking about himself all the time. He compares stuff to his experiences way too much. It is the same stories every time.
  4. First this thread starts about hating BA and then I saw something about liking Rock!? All this losing has made people delusional. BA is one of the best announcers in sports. There is a reason he calls playoff games and all those basketball games on top of his duties with the Brewers. BA is quite neutral which is very relieving as announcers usually are extremely bias. The day BA leaves the Brewers is going to be a really sad day. I don't think I would want BA to sit there and sound excited about a garbage team. That would get old really fast. The last thing I want to see is BA sit there and being Mr. Optimistic while we get smashed 14-1. You are probably not going to like any style of announcing while the Brewers play like crap...just my thoughts. All you have to do is listen to a Coshun or Lepay game and understand how much better BA is. The rest of the team is total garbage though...Rock is whatever...but the rest should just not exist. It's like we had a $35mil payroll and spent $30mil on Trout. One great guy and then puke.
  5. There was a little speculation by a writer that they could move Segura to 3B next year. Though if Gennett can't figure it out I think move to 2B is more likely. I don't see the point to putting him at 3B. He would kill nearly all his value and isn't like we will be competing. Either keep him up the middle or trade him.
  6. Frias' line looks a whole lot like someone you want them to unload legitimate prospects for. You do bring up a good point though. His innings are going to rack up really quick as the season progresses. I think they need to add a vet, but is Garza that guy? Lohse? Either of them at the price you are floating? Maybe...I have seen crazier things. I don't know if I really see the concern with Greinke leaving though. It isn't like he was a cheap homegrown guy...they are paying him $25mil this year. They could easily just get a new ace off a deep FA market.
  7. That is true, but letting go of prospect like him after a year is very uncommon. It does happen as I recall a first rounder being a PTBNL not too many years ago...but still very uncommon. Either pitcher would really have to get it going to be valuable enough to command such a young highly touted guy. Sadly both have been quite inconsistent and dissapointing.
  8. Time to search for all those people complaining he wouldn't play the OF.
  9. Very very doubtful. He is only a borderline Top 100 prospect, but he is just starting out and has huge potential. I am guessing they put a lot of value on him. I think it is hard to really gauge the value of Garza/Lohse right now though. Their value could change dramatically between now and July 31. Right now Holmes for the two would be laughable...but July maybe it is less crazy.
  10. I think MA's involvement in team construction is not as significant as some believe. That said, for the man who rescued us from Wendy Selig and brought us a couple of playoff appearances, he can do whatever he pleases with his money without complaint from me. Oh I think it is. First of all it is Attanasio's choice whether we go for it or reload/rebuild. He also fields waaaay too many calls from agents. He was a big part in the Lohse signing and always a big reason why K-Rod returns.
  11. Padres eyeballing Sardinas and Fiers is drawing interest too according to Ken Rosenthal.
  12. Not to defend Kintzler, but I think you guys are being a tad harsh. I don't see how he is playing a role...he has appeared in just 6 games. Not only that but of his 6 innings pitched 3 innings were in blowouts.
  13. I disagree. I think he is a decent pitcher. Unfortunately for whatever reason he just can't seem to perform in close games. At least that is how it feels because he manages to put up respectable stats...not great, but not bad.
  14. I like what I have seen from Sardinas. Has a very smooth contact swing and has look very nice at SS. Unlike Segura who seems really choppy out on the diamond sometimes. I just don't know if he will ever hit enough to be a decent starter.
  15. Had Centeno and Gomez on the bench. No real 1B option left in the game if you make the switch. I guess theoretically you could have PH Centeno and moved Maldonado to 1B...but I would rather have Lind hit in that scenario.
  16. Exactly why Lind isn't worth a lot. Great stats, but a lot of liability towards the end of a game.
  17. I'm sorry but your hindsight is a bit baffling. You have now resorted to talking about mock drafts having us pick a certain player. How many mock drafts had us picking Medeiros last year? Pretty comfortable that number is 0%. Assuming no other team was on him and wouldn't have signed him before June is a bit silly. No proof to that. Sure there were no reports of other teams being interested, but there was no rumors the Brewers had any interest till it happened. Sorry I am not a big fan of looking back at things and making countless assumptions and pretending like if we had that pick we would draft some great pitcher. I could easily assume that if we had that pick we would have drafted a guy who would never be anything and instead we would sign some garbage Suppan like pitcher the next off-season with the money we saved not signing Lohse. Sure this route looks like it didn't work out. I would say it is a bad deal, but not a good deal either. Regardless there is no proof that the other path would have been any better. You don't know who they would have drafted or what they would have done with the money they saved on Lohse. All you are doing is looking back YEARS later finding out the perfect way to do it. I bet teams are knocking on your door to be their GM.
  18. I'm sorry but saying the Lohse signing was bad over a lost draft pick is wrong. Maybe questionable, but no one will ever know if it was bad because of the draft pick loss. *Comparing us to the Cardinals in a draft is way off base. Especially the way they churn out pitchers. *No way to ever know if they would have drafted some of those guys around where their pick was. You could look at every bad 1st round pick they have had the last decade and see about 5+ players around that pick that were Top 100 prospects at one point. Anyone want to guess the last time one of our first round picks was ranked in the top 100 AFTER actually having some pro experience? 2008! And outside of Jake Odorizzi we haven't drafted an impact player since we drafted Braun in 2005!
  19. I want to know the last time a pitcher intentionally walked someone to get to the opposing pitcher, just to walk to pitcher to plate a run WITH two outs.
  20. I don't think he lost anything in his thighs/legs. That would likely be detrimental to his power as that is where he generates it. Seeing he is on pace for well over 30homers that seems unlikely. My guess..seriously. When he got married his wife said no more tight pants. So baggy pants equals smaller legs.
