  1. Top 5 maybe...Number 1? I doubt it. Just my opinion.
  2. I'd go with this as likelyhood: 1. Ryan Braun(All Star) 2. Fransisco Rodriguez(All Star) 3.Carlos Gomez I think Ryan Braun will keep up the good hitting making him the main choice and I think K Rod has a pretty good chance so far too. Would not be surprised to see Gomez get hot and have a chance.
  3. I'd pick a lot of guys over Lucroy...no way he makes it with only one good month. Even if he mashes his stats will be pretty lackluster.
  4. Defense isn't as good and his arm is probably weaker. But his offense is a lot better. I think he will provide more power and his plate discipline is great. Easy to see him with a high average with a nice OBP along with it. Could be a fantastic lead off hitter.
  5. Great at bat for Ramirez. Sac fly to score one and move the other to third. Guy knows what he is doing. ....then a poor at bat to follow. Sigh...could have used that run. Difference between a veteran and a rookie right there.
  6. Had a feeling Braun was going to swing at the 3-0 pitch. Dangerous way to live when a guy is as hot as him.
  7. I feel like it was just yesterday everyone was excited by Clint Coulter's hot start...Now I hear a slow sad violin playing.
  8. I don't think it is really fair to say you missed on prospect if they had injury problems. Mat Gamel never got a chance and even a guy like Rickie Weeks went south because of injuries. I true miss would be a guy you thought was going to be amazing and they just flat out sucked. My pick would be Taylor Jungmann...man I thought he was going to get here fast and be a solid starter with nice strikeout numbers. Now it would be great if he could be a #5 starter.
  9. I think a team that doesn't really have prospects, on the fence about competing, or not motivated to move better prospects might be a good fit. Those types of teams might be open to giving up Mitch Haniger type prospect for Lohse/Garza since they don't want to spend on a big time pitcher, but still need that veteran pitcher. So tricky to predict what a player will eventually go for. You find the perfect match and you have a surprsing return. On the flip side sometimes you can't find a good match and you have to settle on a dissapointing return.
  10. Quite the jump for Arcia. Then again dominating the hardest level at a young age will do those kind of things to you. High contact swing with little strikeouts. Kid is going to be a solid SS at the big league level.
  11. How was that a bad return? What did we give the Royals? Jeffress...no lost value. Escobar...pretty comparable to Segura. Odorizzi...a nice asset lost. Cain...alright a little loss here, but he was still a big question mark. Most people I know thought they got a pretty good deal for half a season of a guy who couldn't get a QO. Royals traded 2 years and we only trade 2 months. We got a pretty good return all things considered. Actually most people think he does great in trades.
  12. Out of curiosity, other then Baseball America's reports of Ray Montgomery scouting Funkhouser in-person as well as other Brewers evaluators at the ACC tournament, what experts have you seen report the Brewers are likely to go for a low-risk college arm? I haven't seen other reports tying them specifically college arms, but would be interested in reading them. It was some lesser popular draft analysis. I'd probably have a hard time finding them...went on a draft reading binge a week ago. I guess the assumption is they will go for a low risk guy, probably pitcher, and someone they can get to the majors a little faster. Though I have seen one of the many prep outfielders being a target of the Brewers too. I think it is hard to even get a gauge on what the Brewers will be doing with a new scouting director. Still after making 3 high risk picks last year, two of which have been brutally bad this year, I can not fathom them taking a flyer on Aiken. They would have to have a lot of trust in that elbow to make that pick. Like every year it is a total crapshoot...this year is even worse. Every week I feel like everything is different. I think they might lean towards a college player after a prep heavy top of the draft last year. Seems like that would be a logical route.
  13. His ceiling is still really high, but I guess the risk must be really high on him. Most have him going to a team that could have him totally fail and not shed a tear(Dodgers). On the flip side a lot of "experts" see the Brewers go for a college arm that doesn't carry a lot of risk.
  14. I don't think either would be dealt in the next 10-15 days anyway.
  15. If I had to predict a landing spot that would be it. Nice veteran guy who should give some stability there. Duffy hopefully can be a decent back up to match with him.
  16. Since you think I am being so negative let me explain why I don't think either to the Royals make a whole lot of sense. I feel like with their struggles their eventual landing spot will be with a team that wants a veteran rotation guy despite some struggles. I don't see why a Royal's team already with some struggling vets wants another one. I just don't see them taking on another expensive guy who is struggling. Bottom line they both need to start pitching better. I don't think they are worthless, but right now I wouldn't expect much in return. But like I have said MANY times in the past they can change that very quickly over the course of a month. Also I tend to not throw names out this early that we may target. like other do. Actually I prefer not to throw out names until real rumors or interest from other teams comes about.
  17. I have to laugh every time I see a trade proposal regarding Lohse/Garza. We talk about other teams having a pitcher getting shelled or having bad peripherals, but we want them to trade for an expensive guy with the same garbage showings? I think we should put all this talk about Lohse/Garza on the backburner until they can pitch somewhat well. Until then any trade would be a salary dump at best no matter who we are trading with.
  18. I am going with Lohse...Gomez had an error, but it didn't really matter in the long run.
  19. Todd Rosiak of MJS said the Brewers might like to unload Ryan Braun, BUT probably not willing to provide money in any deal. I personally am really skeptical that they really want to trade him, but maybe hurting his marketability and image make him less enticing for the Brewers.
  20. That ball just LEFT the ballpark. Wow. That ball had to be 470-480 feet bomb...EDIT just said 474
  21. He and the Brewers as a whole need to do more situational running. Pick a good pitch and go.
  22. Thanks FS Wisconsin for covering up the replay...we can't see anything...
  23. It would be nice if we had 3 short stops but we have 1 below average SS, 1 utility guy and a prospect on the 2017 track. Hopefully Arcia does well and can push for a 2016 callup but I don't think it's early enough to worry about that. Segura's trade value is probably rising anyway, since he was pretty much worthless last year. Segura is at least average. He provides some offense and despite the errors is above average on defense. Which in today's time is painfully hard to find. Dodgers and Padres(two big contenders) are getting pathetic performance out of their SS. Sardinas should not be considered a utility guy, it is way to early for that title. He was a Top 10 SS prospect 2 years ago and has yet to get a true chance. He has very good contact skills and very good defense. Still has bright future.
  24. Seeing that Jimmy Rollins is being paid $11mil and probably a great clubhouse guy all year is very possible. That makes almost too much sense...I think they would prefer Segura though. A little more proven and will make benching Rollins look less bad. That being said I still can't see them benching Rollins. He at least plays some decent defense and the name recognition means something right or wrong.
