It just gets too confusing when you try to do a magic number for a WC spot especially with today's postseason rules allowing so many teams in. Better to worry about winning something. Winning the division means you're champions and is worthy of a magic number. Making the postseason isn't winning anything.

No what it means is this guy has thrown 446.2 innings in his career with a 3.45 era. This year in AZ he thre 34.1 innings with a 4.19 era. He has been around a while and had plenty of success. 11.2 not so great innings in Milwaukee doesn't mean he's useless and can't get anyone out. And what do ya know? He pitched a scoreless inning tonight to finish off a win. -
He was good in '03 and '04. I'd take a Keith Ginter or two on this year's team.

Actually it would be their second experience with the three game wild card round format as that was how the postseason was done in 2020 where the Brewers lost to the Dodgers 2-0 in the series.
