  1. Yikes, what an awful waste of money. After the great Bobby Portis news, this offseason took a nose dive with the New York billionaire owners lowballing PJ Tucker, and now signing George Hill to anything other than a vet min deal (though bringing him back at all is bad enough).
  2. Even if he has a bounce back year next year and regains value, I still think he should be traded. Honestly I think back at the deadline in 2018 he should've been traded. There just isn't that much value to most guys who can't play anywhere in the field unless they absolutely hit a ton. It just doesn't seem to be hard to find a 1B who hits (Vogelbach last year was had for nothing, and Rowdy this year didn't cost much, Jesus was stuck in the minors and never even got a shot until Milwaukee, Thames was cheap too).
  3. I'm sorry, maybe it's my complete lack of respect for Keith Law, but that answer is complete horse apples. Mod edit: that word ain't allowed even with the asterisk. I've replaced it. Sorry!
  4. I like calls that go the Brewers way but that was pretty ridiculous that that isn't an out. I mean you can't tell me Lauer didn't give himself up long before that ball even got to 2nd.
  5. I would actually assume its Boxberger as he's been the emergency closer so far when Hader has already been used or is unavailable. Makes sense given his experience.
  6. Nothing like a lipper during the postgame press conference. That's a gritty veteran!
  7. You wouldn’t have been able to tell this from Gute’s presser this morning. I suggest watching or listening to his remarks once they’re posted online to get the full impact, but his comments in response to the Cobb question had about as much genuine enthusiasm as a coerced message in a hostage situation. And he flat out said they wouldn’t have made the move except for Aaron Rodgers. My goodness. Guess we’re all just letting it hang out now. Any doubt I had about 12 being gone next year has just been erased. I think everyone suspected that but it was hilarious that he actually said that. This is gonna go so bad.
  8. And even if they take massive pay cuts, the backups (especially at WR) have to play special teams. Would those guys have played special teams, and if they were slow/injured, would they have even been effective at special teams? (Although, an argument could be made that the special teams play couldn't have been any worse.) Curious how much Brady is consulted in personnel matters. The other issue too is making trades like they just did for Randall Cobb. Now the team has to pay more money to a washed up old receiver who likely will not make it through the entire season healthy while the younger, cheaper, quicker guy may ride the bench. (Amari Rodgers)
  9. It's much easier to make the financials work if said franchise QB has no qualms about taking huge pay cuts and contract restructuring to provide salary cap space to make that happen - Brady has done that repeatedly throughout his career in both New England and in Tampa. Rodgers most definitely hasn't. And what's the point of taking input/getting roster recommendationsabout about retaining aging veterans if the guy making the case for them doesn't want to rework his deal and the team is salary cap-strapped with obvious younger all pro-caliber players they need to extend very soon before risking losing them? Would I rather have a handful of aging wideouts and offensive lineman Rodgers is friends with on the roster next year, or would I rather give Jaire Alexander franchise CB money to play corner through his prime years in Green Bay? Not really a tough decision as a GM in my book.... We have a bingo!
  10. I like how nearly every name Rodgers rattled off would've been a bad idea to bring back. You can't afford to overpay veteran free agents when you already have over 20mil in cap eaten up every year by your QB. Sustained success requires a front office to look to the future.
  11. Whether Yelich was vaccinated or not, he would very likely experience mild symptoms and nothing worse.
  12. Well, Super Bowl or bust. You will never find another season where this is more true of a statement.
  13. I mean I would think a bigger driving factor to being a fan of a team is how far away from them you are located, not as much state lines. If I live one hour away from Milwaukee it's easier to be a fan of Milwaukee teams as I can reasonably go attend a game when I want to. When it's a 4 to 5 hours away it's much tougher.
  14. That was the first championship won in the state of Wisconsin by a major pro team since the 1965 Packers who beat the Cleveland Browns at Lambeau Field. This was the first championship won in the Milwaukee metropolitan area since 1939 when the Packers beat the Giants at State Fair Park in West Allis.
  15. Definitely a candidate to be the most forgettable Brewer to pitch in a game this season.
  16. Except for Game 5, Game 6, and Game 7, Game 4 is the most pivotal game of a seven game series.
  17. A lot of Bucks fans thought the same thing on the opposite end in 2019 when the Raptors won the crazy OT game. Other than in the first round when a heavy favorite takes the first two games, I don't think much is really decided until a road team wins. It would not surprise me to see the Bucks storm back and take Game 3 and Game 4.
  18. This game is a good example of how bad it used to be. The corners were wide open sometimes. I remember once Charlie Hayes nearly got hit in the leg by a pitch about a foot inside, called strike. People say they have no accountability today, back then there was actually none. I imagine for those around in the 70's or 80's they'd say it was even worse then.
  19. There was a start many years ago, against Houston I think without looking it up, where Claudio Vargas pitched 5 scoreless innings and got out of a bases loaded jam every single inning.
