  1. And wasn't Weigel the names of one of the officers in RENO 911?
  2. That is usually what I would think when you have a trade like this at this time of the season, especially if the return ends up being a couple of low level minor leaguers.
  3. The book is out on Huira, groove fastballs out over the plate all day. It's unbelievable.
  4. LOL!!!!! That wasted challenge could not have come back to bite them any quicker
  5. I was trying to figure out if I was missing something, that looked like one of the more obvious outs you'll see. Do teams maybe not have video crews to review things anymore, like due to covid or something?
  6. Without looking it up my gut feeling is not a chance. I mean they've only had a winning record in like half those seasons.
  7. Yup, but actually, it's a choice you are making. I'll see all the games with Spectrum cable, no way I can go without, so I keep forking over the cash. A summer without Brewers baseball just isn't in the cards. I'm with you, back on cable now. Streaming services aren't really a big savings anymore either.
  8. I'm sure all giveaways are cancelled do to "safety protocols" or something.
  9. to your first point, so what? I'm concerned with the here and now. The Brewers team that we will be fielding in 2021 is almost like a AAA team in comparison to LA and SD. I don't care that we have made the playoffs 4 times to SD 1. Let's see where that shakes out in the next 10 years... The deck is stacked against us, obviously, it just gets frustrating. I am thankful that we have had success recently, but looking at the LA and SD teams, it is deflating to see what we are up against both financially and physically. Staying competitive is great, and far better than not being competitive, but if we can't have real World Series aspirations, it takes some of the air out. They were literally one game away from a pennant in 2018. There isn't some huge barrier between them and getting to a WS.
  10. Not really under-rating their season it is just that majority of the time a team like Marquette is going to be not included in the tournament because of their under .500 record. They have some impressive wins on the road at UNC and at home against WI. They also beat Creighton on the road which consists of their 2nd ranked team win. I believe Creighton was in the top 10 when they beat them and WI was ranked in the top 5 at the time I think? They have a nice resume with the three wins against Creighton, WI and UNC but I think they had to win at least one game in the Big East conference tournament to get in. They had one route to get in the big dance and that involved winning the conference tournament. I say next year we stop worrying about the 2nd best mid major in Milwaukee and all jump on board the UWM bandwagon once they land Patrick Baldwin Jr!
  11. Thanks, I was not sure how to state that without blowing up. I say it as someone who does buy into the optics. My work involves traveling to meet on location with various business owners and executives all day. I wear a mask. I bring sanitizer and use it as I often touch paper records provided by them along with desks, chairs i sit in, etc. I make sure to always use the sanitizer in front of them. In today's world, optics are everything. The "intelligent and educated" are among us and ready to report you if they don't feel safe.
  12. No way. If there's any truth to the amount of money that's been lost over the last year, they need to allow as many fans as possible. Throw whatever meaningless restrictions on for optics for a little while but we should be full go within a few months.
  13. You greatly underestimate both the percentage of the population that is willing to get vaccinated and the percentage required to achieve the level of herd immunity to “tie a bow on this whole damn thing”. Too many of us are educated and understand the risks and will not attend mass gatherings without appropriate restrictions in place. So those restrictions will continue in some fashion for the rest of the year most likely. Masks will be the last to go because they don’t impede anyone making money. We’ll have games at 100% capacity with masks still required, guaranteed. The Brewers make more money in that situation than not requiring masks but having most of us stay home. It’s the same reason nearly all the stores and businesses here still require masks despite no legal requirement to do so. They don’t want to lose their best customers. The Brewers (and anyone in the sports/entertainment business) knows that the key to recovery is making those of us who’ve taken this seriously feel safe. If we don’t, we won’t show up and as the past year has shown, these businesses lose big $ when their only clientele is the anti-masker anti-vaccine minority. There is no greater pandemic in this country than the mental pandemic of those who think they are intelligent and educated. If no tailgating and cloth or paper masks worn sometimes but not while not eating or drinking makes the "educated" feel warm and fuzzy inside, I guess that's what will have to be done for a while.
  14. Sweet jimmy, Toronto didn't let Blue Jay's play in Toronto this summer?? That's ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. I've always said Trump was worried about building the wall at the wrong border
  15. Yup, does not get much worse than Tom or Adam. Not that 80% of Brewers twitter can see what Tom posts anyway.
  16. Everything is cyclical with the Bucks. Every two years they need to fire the coach and it usually takes them an extra two years to figure it out.
  17. Reggie was an end. Dotson and Brown were the interior linemen. By today's standards, Reggie White was most definitely an interior lineman. He was not an edge rusher. That would be like saying Aaron Donald is not an interior lineman because he technically plays DE in a 3-4 defense. No he isn't. A 3-4 DE is considered an interior DL, a 4-3 DE is an edge rusher
  18. I'm pretty sure tackle stats around that time were based on coaches film review so you actually had more of an accurate representation of who was in on the play, today it's done on the fly during the games so you actually have a lot lower numbers since they'll just credit the tackle to whoever they see jump off the pile first.
