  1. It's cold and rainy in Milwaukee, feels like a good day to play armchair GM. It seems like Texas is one of the most popular landing spots for Lucroy. Would you/do you think both teams would do the following: Texas receives: Lucroy, Thornburg Milwaukee receives: Joey Gallo, Michael Matuella
  2. It's cold and rainy in Milwaukee, feels like a good day to play armchair GM. It seems like Washington is one of the most popular landing spots for Braun. Would you/do you think both teams would do the following: Washington receives: Ryan Braun + Blazek Milwaukee receives: Jayson Werth, Trea Turner, Joan Baez
  3. My dream is that Fox eventually makes a deal with Dish/Sling TV. If I could add FSW and Big Ten Network to a Sling TV subscription I would do it in an instant. Their offerings combined with an over the air receiver would give virtually all the major channels.
  4. I wouldn't make too many assumptions based on what is and isn't canon. I think the fans care much more about this than the actual writers/directors. Lawrence Kasdan who was a writer for The Force Awakens and Episodes 5 and 6 recently said in an interview that he doesn't even know what is and isn't canon. They're just trying to write good stories. I'm sure they want continuity with Episodes 1-6 but I don't expect anymore than that.
  5. Do we have room under the cap to take on salary? Rumor is that teams are trying to shed contracts to make a run at Lebron and Carmelo. I would be more than willing to take Steve Nash's contract and the number 7 pick from the Lakers (as I'm guessing a number of teams would). My guess is that the value of our 2nd round draft picks is on the rise for teams trying to gain cap space.
  6. Patton Oswalt's Star Wars Filibuster pretty much made my day
  7. Batted around and BRAUN was the one out. Who would have thought it.
  8. Have Sanders and Henson gotten any playing time together this year? Between the two's blocking and rebounding prowess they could dominate the paint if they are able to play effectively together.
  9. Looks like the corporate discounts site is up again. Are brewerfan members again eligible for the discounts?
  10. I'm thinking of switching from Time Warner to DISH Network and wanted to make sure I understand how Brewers/Bucks games work. From what I can tell, I would not get FS-WI full-time but I would receive just the Brewers/Bucks games? Is this correct?
  11. Assuming we sign him, what role does he take? Is he protection against a Braun suspension or does this mean that Nyjer or Gomez are going to be traded?
  12. I'm good with it because I see a 1 year opportunity for another shot at the World Series. Doesn't really matter if he's bad 3 years from now as we'll likely be either mediocre or in full out rebuilding mode. I know that the Brewers want to sign the pitching to extensions, but after seeing the free agent contracts the last few years it has become obvious that we're going to lose some serious talent. This gives us the best chance to win the division again in 2012. I'm actually pretty optimistic for next year, especially if Braun can somehow beat the suspension. I think Gamel + Ramirez in 2012 can match the production of Fielder + McGehee in 2011. Rest of team should be pretty similar, don't see why we can't take the NL Central again.
  13. I know that football talk is supposed to go to Lambeau Leap, but hopefully this is acceptable as the question regards travel plans. I'm hoping to travel to the Rose Bowl this year and was looking for advice from those who have gone before. My questions: 1) When/where are the best places to get tickets? I know UW's allotment sold out already and Stubhub is currently at a minimum of about $250 per ticket. I'm guessing that this will go down significantly as we get closer to the event, but I'd feel better knowing how prices have played out in the past. 2) Has anyone ever flown into Vegas and drove over? Plane tickets are about $200 a piece cheaper into Vegas than LA and it appears to be just a 5 hour drive between the two. Does the traffic get considerably worse around the Rose Bowl? I'm open to any other advice/suggestions as well. Thanks in advance!
  14. Does anyone know the projected dates/times for the games? I've got some conflicts and don't want to register for a game that I would not be able to attend. I'm guessing that the "typical" start times get thrown out the window for the playoffs. It looks like the NLDS first round may start Saturday Oct 1, which would interfere with the Wisconsin-Nebraska game if it is at night...would MLB schedule around this?
  15. Apparently Mark Attanasio has some interest in the Bucks if Kohl decides to sell the team. Not sure how I feel about it, I think Attanasio is a great owner for the Brewers and I worry that having other sporting financial interests might take some of his focus/money from the Brewers. As a casual Bucks fan I realize it would be great for them as Mark A would surely give the team some direction and probably has built up enough goodwill in Milwaukee to make some progress on replacing the Bradley Center. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/127776813.html
  16. The last two games have been frustrating, but the season is far from over. If we win 5 games in a row people will be declaring the Brewers the division champs. There are ups and downs in a 162 game season. That said, I do agree with those that want RRR to manage the bullpen differently. I don't get the anger at Melvin, I think given our resources he's given RRR as much talent as possible to work with.
  17. I'm as frustrated by the 8th inning Loe arrangement as anyone else, but those that are declaring "season over" need to relax a bit. We came into the day tied for first and it's not even the all star break. After following the Brewers through the 90's I'm enjoying these teams very much, puzzling bullpen decisions and all.
  18. Didn't Hawkins talk to RR about pitching in more high leverage situations? Maybe that will give him a chance of getting in the 8th in this one.
  19. What should be next for Hart? At this rate, I'd guess he's closer to the all-star game then he is to being platooned.
  20. Has anyone here ever tried the epic roadtrip? Some friends and I are thinking of trying it. Mapquest claims it'll take 26 hrs (La Crosse to Stadium). Anyone know if this is accurate from personal experience?
  21. I believe they've said that they've known in very general terms where the show would go/end, but they definitely didn't have the whole thing planned out. Plenty of things didn't go as planned such as Eko leaving the show to Ben becoming a major player (he was originally supposed to have a 3 episode arc).
  22. Are there any campgrounds in the area? Thinking of taking a trip down there with some friends, but we're on a pretty tight budget so any tips on going on the cheap would be appreciated.
  23. USA Men's Hockey is up 6-0 against Finland in the first period...they're playing unbelievably well
  24. Great episode tonight. Classic Hurley humor, a few "whoa" moments, and Claire totally creeping me out. What does everyone think of the whole appendix scene? Obviously, they were hinting at something huge there (merging storylines?)
