  1. The Mets are bordering on Cardinals level hate for me.
  2. Yea, Torres has been on the Yankees radar for some time now. Damn if it's true the Cubs just shortened the game to 7 innings.
  3. Good possibility he signs again with them in the offseason as well.
  4. They're stupid if they do. The same front office that threw 104 million at Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher stupid?! No way.
  5. Luckily we already capitalized on that with Isan Diaz.
  6. Clint Coulter needs a change of scenery. I'd imagine Miller could be had for him and another C prospect.
  7. Lol based on what fans say? Listen, at the end of the day none of us are inside any major league FO, and none of us know what's being thrown out there. I understand being nervous, but going to a fan board and taking it as gospel is frankly ridiculous. We're all just throwing **** at a wall and speculating. And here's a newsflash fans generally don't know the real market value of the prospects in their system. Let alone a major league player they don't see everyday, or the trade market as a whole for that matter. They're are so many variables that go into a trade, so naturally they are going to want a deal that's in the best interest for them, and vice versa for us. My goodness.
  8. IMO if it's a trade with Texas I'd go for Gallo and lottery tickets. If it's a trade with Cleveland I go for depth and youth.
  9. You raise good points, but I'm really not a fan of Clevinger or Sheffield as the arms coming back. If I had to I'd probably go for Option 2 just for Mckenzie and Mejia, but I wouldn't be happy about the other two.
  10. I always laugh hearing about Clevelands "untouchables". We have been told now that their top 4(!!!) prospects are untouchable, and now were adding another. You are trying to trade for an all star player, under control for a year and half, cheap as hell, in a spot where you have a black hole in your lineup. If you think you are getting that player without giving up at least 2 of those untouchables, you are simply wrong. If somehow Lucroy ends up in Cleveland within the next week, they will have given some of these "untouchables". I think some of them took that Dan O'Dowd proposal and ran with it.
  11. My goodness Cleveland everyone cannot be untouchable. The goal of a trade is not to "fleece" one another, but to get equal value for different needs and organizational outlooks. Being realistic, Cleveland would be getting an all star catcher that when inserted into the lineup would be 2nd on the team in OPS & batting. Not to mention his inexpensive salary and TO for next season. I know everyone likes Yan from seasons past, but he's been an absolute detriment at the plate contributing a oWAR of -1.2. Couple that with injuries and the outlook looks bleak for him. So that brings me to my point that when you have a shot at winning a World Series you take it! Nothing is a given... especially in baseball. Personally I am in the realistic camp that thinks Cleveland should hold onto both Zimmer and Fraizer because their OF figures to need them both in the near future depending on Brantley's recovery and Naquin's very possible regression. So that brings us to a realistic proposal that fits both teams. Based on Stearns' blueprint I figure him to target low level, young talent. Francisco Mejia is a name that comes up a lot on this forum, but I think it would be foolish for Cleveland to get rid of him. Their catcher cupboard is about as bare as ours was 2 years ago. So Cleveland's organizational strength is obviously pitching, and that is where the Brewers' weakness lies. My proposal would target. Bradley 19 Aiken 19 Mckenzie 18 Two top 100 guys and an interesting projectable arm for Lucroy and Smith. The beauty of this is that all of these kids are low level and far away for the majors which won't impact the immediate future for the Indians by any means. There also still LOADED with arms after a deal like this is completed. Curious to hear any of your thoughts.
  12. I remember previously that is what the Brewers were looking for from Texas. And here I thought Gallo was exactly the type of player we wanted to avoid rebuilding around. Chicks dig the long ball, I'll take obp and athleticism. He really is a remarkable player. Excellent OBP with only with only a career .257 avg. Couple that with elite power, and he might just be too unique to pass up.
  13. I say this with only wild speculation, but I get the feeling Stearns covets Joey Gallo.
  14. Ironically both got popped. Aldaberto only once though.
  15. 2 for 2 with two singles so far for Erceg. I really like his approach!
  16. Uhh Aldaberto is just so incredibly meh.
  17. I really don't think the Indians give up any of their top four unless it turns to a bidding war. I would think something like Lucroy and Smith for Sheffield, McKenzie, Mejia, Hillman, Diaz would be more likely to get done. Indians may have to offer up even more even they want both and aren't willing to give up Frazier/Zimmer/Bradley/Aiken. Well then they don't get Lucroy. Pretty simple stuff.
  18. Brady Aiken centerpiece? They've been pretty adamant about keeping their OF's, and DS was part of the Houston group that picked him 1.1. Idk I'm starting to get nervous.
  19. That was Jim Duquette, but these guys are essentially cut from the the same cloth and are absolutely clueless.
  20. I was taking into account a bidding war erupting...I should have specified.
  21. I feel like Boston made the right choice, but man what if that Nelson deal went down... We'd be kissing DS's feet.
  22. Words cannot describe how much I love DS and our new front office. Thank you splitter this is fantastic, and only reinforces my trust in our guys!
