  1. Might be in the minority, but I'd rather have a comp pick instead of Nimmo.
  2. Puts pressure on the Mets to get a reliever.
  3. "You have to know when to walk away from a bad deal." -Donald Trump
  4. Wow what garbage. A perpetually injured C, a fourth outfielder, and I assume someone other than Szapucki because "he's too valuable" (/s) **** the Mets. I pray we're smart enough not to accept that ****. Nimmo's own mother doesn't love Nimmo.
  5. If TDA is our best offer (which I don't buy for a second) I'm holding onto Luc.
  6. Buster Olney is so full of **** it's ridiculous. The fact that he's saying this means we'll get at great package for Lucroy. Seriously this is the guy that praises the Cubs for their roster construction yet wants to end teams "tanking" or in other words rebuilding. The guy is a moron just look at what he wants to do to change baseball. ESPN is a joke for baseball coverage outside of Ravech and Kurkjian. I find it unbelievable people still hang onto this "insiders" word. He's a hypocritical, spineless, pandering ****. When's the last time he broke a story before Rosenthal... I'll wait.
  7. No way no how do I do a deal without Rosario. I will be livid if Dom "James Loney" Smith is the centerpiece in a deal.
  8. It's the way they went about it publicly that has people upset.
  9. With the new Trea Turner rule I believe they cannot until after the World Series.
  10. I actually proposed this about 600 posts ago. Probably a coincidence because that's all the MiLB value they have to offer. Still gross.
  11. The more I look at d'Arnaud's value, the more "less crazy" this offer seems. Yes, it is a lowball offer. But you get a guy who, without injury is projected to put up all star numbers, all while under arbitration level salary. I would put his surplus value at a bottom of around $20 million. And this is a very conservative estimate, and it doesnt factor in what you get from him for the last two months of the season which could really be in the neighborhood of $11 million. D'Arnaud and a guy like Robert Gsellman, and a throw in from low A ball would not be a horrible trade. Does ignore the rebuild timeline though. Just stop. The Mets must have gotten to you too.
  12. When in reality Stearns is 5 years ahead of Sandy.
  13. New Rosenthal piece states that the "Mets believe the Brewers are overreaching in their asks for Lucroy." Lol because of course they do, ffs they offered d'Arnaud straight up. If I'm the Brewers Sandy Alderson is getting on my last nerve.

  15. I'm gonna stay out of these player development hot takes because it's just gonna raise my blood pressure, but I will say some of y'all belong on the Bill Michaels show.
  16. While I'm not sure it's a valid rumor I was flipping through Twitter, and saw someone "connected" say the Brewers asked the Mets for Thomas Szapucki and Max Wotell in exchange for Jeffress. I'll link the tweet when I get chance to. We are soooo lucky to have DS...
  17. If true that means Stearns does not want to trade Jeffress at all because that's a ridiculous asking price. I have no problem with that, Jeffress may be better as a hold rather than a sell. I also question the report. If Stearns asked for RHP-Chris Paddack and two more players from the Marlins, who were those other two players? 1B-Josh Naylor and RHP-Tyler Kolek? More likely Paddack was the centerpiece of that deal and while his stock has risen dramatically since the beginning of the year he's not a top 100 guy and would probably be considered borderline as a top 10 organizational guy for teams that have an above average minor league system. Also as a side note, it looks like Paddack has come down with some type of arm problem and is out pending an evaluation by the team doctor. Could be a non-serious forearm strain type injury, could be a more serious elbow problem. Not ridiculous at all when you consider what Chapman got and couple that with 3 years of control. RP is at a premium right now and DS knows that.
  18. Strongly disagree, while no prospect is lighting it up statistically that doesn't mean there isn't a ton of potential.
  19. Wow did he look good right there.
  20. I'm leaning against dealing Smith unless proper value can be attained. Hes got 3 more years of control, and I think a lot of teams will be looking to buy low with his velocity and K rate down. I say you hold onto him hoping he returns to form next year. All other relievers should be had for the right deal.
  21. 100% agree with you. This is our best trade chip for the next few years. Do not bend.
  22. Good thing we have the leverage and they have the need.
  23. Tip of the cap to Brandon for a real gutsy and inspiring performance tonight. Kind of reminds me of the game Brett Favre had against the Raiders when his dad passed.
  24. Thomas Szapucki, from the Mets system, is a guy that I would target that also seems to fit Stearns blueprint.
