  1. Don't really feel good about that statement.
  2. He doesn't need to know trigonometry to know how to play ball. I could care less about that haha.
  3. If we're going with an arm I like Speas and Muller. I also like Reed for selfish reasons...
  4. Unless we go overslot with Ray (which I don't see happening) we still have money to spend if we're frugal round 3-6 .
  5. Anyone surprised Dakota Hudson and Sheffield are still on the board? I feel like I'm a broken record right now... Gotta pay attention to earlier posts lol.
  6. Shot in the dark I think we take Speas if he's available
  7. Me too only because my grade school friend went to high school with him in R.I.
  8. Who are we hoping falls to the second round boys?
  9. Burdi is gonna be a hell of a closer/high leverage reliever. Dude has NASTY stuff.
  10. Even though Reynolds is a moron... He is not off-base with this one.
  11. Groome had a questionable attitude and the wrong mindset if you wanted an ace pitcher. Like Yogi Berra said "baseball is 90% mental, and the other half is physical.
  12. Well...bye... Some of these guys act like they're the second coming of Theo Epstein... Trust the executives and let the kid play before making rash judgements.
  13. That is his ceiling sadly imo. He is a better version of Michael Reed..... Ughhhhh Reed was a 5th pick, not #5 overall! All Stearns BS talk about upside & ceiling....then he does this, come on! I have been the biggest Stearns & Montgomery homer around....I am thank you'd with a kick to the "boys" Sorry rant over.... I'll move on from this disappointment. Just need to stop posting, rationalize & accept what just happened, and pretend like drafting a .270-.280 average 10-15 HR LF at #5 is fine Seriously don't understand you knocking him like he didn't belong in the top 5. The kid has yet to play an inning of pro ball for **** sakes.
  14. Yup I will never blame the Brewers for passing on him. He has the pitches, but man is he a massive risk. Groome was also a massive risk. I want an ace like the rest of you, but taking a huge risk like Puk/Groome could blow up in your face really fast. I understand some risk, but in my opinion those two might have been just too much of one. Also Corey Ray won't sign for that much underslot because he was a Top 5 talent. From what I've read Groome didn't really have an "ace" mindset. Puk was also way too inconsistent for this high in the draft. I'm happy we didn't take an arm this high. In my heart though I wish Pint fell...
  15. What organization do you scout for? I mean you can have your opinions, but respected guys in the industry have said this is a great pick. I liked Rutherford more, but I'm not gonna act like I have a better eye for talent than DS and RM.
  16. Hopefully we at least get an underslot deal
  17. My first preference is Moniak, but I doubt he'll get to us based on what Joel Sherman has said. Otherwise I'd be cool with Pint, Rutherford, Lewis, or Lowe.
  18. Second this...with the Brewers rebuilding, I think a lottery pick at #5 like Groome or Pint is the way to go. I will be upset if we take Perez if for no other reason than the Brewers always seem to find hitting and will never be able to acquire impact pitching via FA. The draft is the only way they can truly rebuild the staff. If Groome or Pint don't pan out and Perez becomes the next Correa, then so be it. You go BPA regardless of position when in the midst of a rebuild.
  19. Must be a miracle coming from that douche nozzle. He did say it would be hard for us to trade him with his contract though, which I don't really buy for a second.
  20. Call me crazy, but that package is underwhelming as hell given what we know about Swihart, and I'm not all that certain Devers is as big of stud he's projected as. I've watched him more than a few times, and I don't think he's the blue chip prospect the mainstream says he is. His numbers in advanced A ball are God awful too. Not real surprising for a guy his age, but also not someone I want as a center piece in a Luc deal. I'd still do that deal because it's probably the best we could do and Devers is the perfect match of upside and need for us, but I can understand your skepticism. I'm nervous about any deal with the Red Sox. Their prospects are notoriously overrated. Hopefully DS keeps his poker face up till the last minute and a team caves into his demands. He's played his cards right so far, so we shall see...
  21. Could he play 3B? Because if he can he's even more interesting for the Brewers. That's where I believe Boston moves him to get his bat in the lineup. Here (hypothetically) he definitely plays 2B.

  23. They would laugh if you wanted Moncada just for Lucroy. You would need to trade a good haul of talent to get back Moncada. Then hang up the phone, low-minors prospects are not that valuable. Lucroy is a huge trade asset and there are no prospects that are "hands off". Granted, Moncada is a more complicated situation because Boston already has sunk $$ in him. I have no problem with Moncada being off limits. They sunk a friggin ton of money on him. While he would get me insanely excited it's alright to say he's not a realistic option. Boston can still put together an elite package with out him.
