  1. Ahmed Rosario has a similar profile as Orlando Arcia but with a worst hit tool. TDA is replacement level and Dominic Smith is James Loney, Pt.2. NO THANK YOU! (click)
  2. This proposal rides the fine line between wishful thinking and delusional. Braun has far less trade value than Puig alone. Why would the Dodgers also give us Grant Holmes?
  3. My guess is that either Joey Gallo or Clint Frazier are the highest ranked prospects the Brewers could get back in a Lucroy deal. With that said I'd rather have an Indians deeper package without Frazier or Zimmer. 1b Bobby Bradley C Francisco Mejia LHP Brady Aiken RHP Triston Mckenzie LHP Juan Hillman I think we will get 3 of these players for Lucroy, possibly 4-5 of them if Will Smith is included.
  4. Braun has a market value contract. That's why no team will give us anything via trade for him, because they could simply land a free agent in the off-season without as many warts.
  5. I'd be on board with Lucroy for Gallo and a couple of the lower level arms the Brewers scouting department likes from the Rangers. The Rangers have done a great job signing International Free Agents over the past decade. The Brewers scouting department already poached a great player in RHP Marcos Diplan from the Rangers system in the Gallardo trade.
  6. Patience? He is striking out over 30% of the time. Although I respect the power potential, I would much rather have Zimmer/Aiken/Mejia for Lucroy and then perhaps one of Sheffield/Clevinger (if we threw in Jeffress) than anything involving Bradley. Bradley Zimmer has almost the exact same strikeout as Bobby Bradley this year. The difference is Bradley Zimmer is 3 years older and only one level higher than Bobby Bradley. Also, Bradley has a higher OPS. To each his own, I guess. I simply believe in Bobby Bradley's bat more and prefer him.
  7. Looking at the numbers on Indians 1B prospect Bobby Bradley, and it makes me prefer him as the main offensive piece coming back to the Brewers in a deal. He has a .880 OPS and is on pace for 30 hr and 35 doubles in the Carolina League(High-A). Really like the patience and power. He's a lefty and seems like a future middle of the order hitter with 30+ home run power. If Cleveland's package would include Bradley, and two of Aiken, McKenzie and Hillman, I'd be a Happy Camper.
  8. What about... Rangers receive: C Jonathan Lucroy RHP Jimmy Nelson Brewers receive: 3B Joey Gallo RHP Luis Ortiz OF Leody Taveras RHP Michael Matuella LHP Yohander Mendez RHP Ariel Jurado
  9. I agree with this assessment. My guess is that Stearns would still prefer a package that the Indians would put together, even if it means he'd have to include Will Smith in the deal from the Brewers end. I'd also guess that if the Rangers were willing to part with Gallo as the headliner along with a couple of their lower level arms with upside, it could trump the Indians offer.
  10. Scott Bartell is reporting that, besides the Indians and Rangers, the Atlanta Braves are still very much hot after Jonathan Lucroy, and may be willing to part with any prospect not named Dansby Swanson in order to land him. Stay tuned.
  11. Many here are advocating for trading our assests in separate deals to get full value. However, even though this was a Melvin trade, last years trade of Carlos Gomez was likely only going to net us Phillips, Santana, and Houser. We were able to land Josh Hader because we included Mike Fiers. Mike Fiers in a separate deal alone would not have netted us a player with Hader's ceiling, IMO. So there is some advantage to a package deal of Lucroy and a reliever to the Indians to increase quality of the return.
  12. Personally, I'd love to see either or both of 1B Bobby Bradley or LHP Brady Aiken included in a potential Brewers/Indians swap. Despite their current prospect rankings, I like their potential upside better than most of the other top 10 Indians prospects. I'm also really like the talent ceilings of RHP Triston McKenzie and LHP Juan Hillman. If we could land 3 of those 4 in a package, I'd do a cartwheel. A pathetic cartwheel...but a cartwheel nonetheless.
  13. Let's get a full on bidding war between Indians and Rangers!!!! Whoever includes Gallo or Frazier in their offer first gets an All-Star catcher!
  14. This was likely before the Gomes and Brantley injury news and the Indians came to to forefront
  15. Your packages make me very excited!!!!
  16. For Nelson, I'd look to net a player like 2B Willie Calhoun or RHP Brock Stewart. For Guerra, I'd look to net a player like OF Jacob Scavuzzo or RHP Chase De Jong. If you are talking realistic targets. I just don't think other clubs value either of those two pitchers like Brewer fans do, I'm afraid.
  17. HAHAHA AS Catcher+ LH RP that is exceptional for a team's #7 and #10 ranked prospects? Wow what are the Red Sox thinking having given up One of the Best SP prospects for a guy who made the AS team this season after a 1/2 season of good starts and 0 history of being a SP for a full season? That offer would quickly be countered by about 28 teams in MLB with a better Prospect alone offered than those 2 value combined. White Sox would just say here's Carson Fullmer. Done vastly better than this ******** idea. Personally, I'd rather have Clevinger and Hillman than Fulmer. Carson Fulmer is walking WAY too many guys to end up as an effective starting pitcher in the Big Leagues. He's probably ticketed for the bullpen, long term. The rest of their farm system is terrible. Count me as NOT interested in the White Sox as a trading partner.
  18. I agree with quality over quantity. However, there is zero chance Lucroy would land either Yoan Moncada or Lucas Giolito. Doesn't look like Joey Gallo is even a possibility. With that said, I think we need to get one prospect in the 25-50 range and 2-3 players in the lower levels of the minors with high ceilings (example: Leodys Tavares, Rangers or Juan Hillman, Indians) Players that could either flame out completely or be a top 50 prospect in two years. This way you are spreading out your risk but increasing your chances of one of them panning out. The Sabathia/LaPorta trade is a great example. LaPorta was a top 50 prospect at the time but he was a bust. The Indians also got LHP Zach Jackson, RHP Rob Bryson and OF Michael Brantley as the backend of the deal. Two busts and one borderline MLB star.
  19. There really is no stand out team in the AL this season. The AL gets to host possible games 6 and 7 in the World Series this year with home field advantage. The Indians have a 5.5 game lead in the AL central on July 19th. They have a stacked, young starting rotation that could carry them in the playoffs. They haven't won a World Series since 1948. Very few of their fans were alive then. It's quite obvious to everyone they need to go all in and go for it. Hopefully their front office wakes up and makes a play for Lucroy and/or Will Smith. BTW, a Cubs/Indians World Series would be EPIC! I can envision Jonathon Lucroy hitting a walk off homer to beat the Cubs in game 7 at Jacobs Field.
  20. Rumor has it that teams are targeting 2B Jurickson Profar from the Rangers via trade. Maybe Stearns is targeting Profar as the headliner in a potential Lucroy trade. C Jonathan Lucroy RP Tyler Thornburg or Will Smith for 2B Jurickson Profar OF Leodys Taveras RHP Ariel Jurado or RHP Pedro Payano ??? I'd prefer targeting a higher upside SP in a deal, personally.
  21. Getting a future star in a Lucroy trade is very important to our rebuild, IMO. Also the next few June drafts, especially our 1st round picks near the top of the draft will be another huge key to our rebuild. The Brewers need to finish with a bad enough record to land a Top 5 pick this season and next, and possibly the season after that. With the 1st round picks, the Brewers need to land a franchise type player (a la Kris Bryant) and/or a future Ace (a la Stephen Strasburg). Those are the type of franchise cornerstone players you just can't obtain via trade very often. The Astros were able to turn around their rebuild quickly this way and I think we need to follow that blueprint. The sad reality is that I just don't see many franchise cornerstone players currently in our farm system, but I hope I'm wrong. What I do see is some nice depth of role players, league average offensive starters and #3-5 type starting pitchers. This can be valuable to a small market team like the Brewers as long as they can add those star-type players to the mix. (like Fielder and Braun from our last true re-building phase)
  22. Hader has the ceiling of a #1 -2 starter, which is exciting. McKenzie does as well, IMHO. Clevinger, Nelson, Guerra and Davies all have ceilings in the #3-5 range. Not only would I say we don't need to target acquiring Clevinger for this reason, but we need to consider trading the other 3 near their peak value before we contend again.
  23. I'd be completely fine not getting either Frazier or Zimmer from the Indians. Would love to land two of these 3 to headline a Lucroy to Cleveland deal: LHP Brady Aiken 1B Bobby Bradley RHP Triston McKenzie Also intrigued by these arms LHP Justus Sheffield LHP Juan Hillman LHP Rob Kaminsky RHP Adam Plutko I just hope San Diego doesn't beat us to the punch and offer C Derek Norris for far less.
  24. Indians really need to pony up the prospects for Lucroy now. They are in first place and need to make a run at it while they have the opportunity. Even if Lucroy ends up only being a playoff run rental, they could still turn around and trade him this offseason or at next years deadline to re-coup whatever hit their farm might take.
