  1. Well it's because of his religion and his religion ONLY that he is an absolute media darling. I realize this is more the media's fault and not Tim's but please answer me this DocLuna 7... Why should Tebow get to ride the Son of God's coat tails while everyone else has to actually perform on the field in order to even get a 10th of the attention this guy gets?
  2. Gomez will be a Free Agent in 6 weeks anyway. I don't see the point in signing him at all. Unless there is some strategy in place for the Brewers to lose as many remaining games as possible to pick higher in next June's draft???? This script could write itself... Counsell "Carlos, you know how you were dropping fly balls, left and right, as an Astro? Well, keep that up Big Guy." Go Go "Sure thing Coach" Counsell "Also, when you get on base, regardless of the situation, just keep running until you are either tagged out or you reach home plate." Go Go "I know Craig, you don't have to tell me that. That's exactly what I've been doing for years!"
  3. At the very least, Carlos would be a valuable mentor and maybe teach Jonathan Villar a thing or two about the fundamentals of baserunning... ...oh wait....
  4. Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball. (I'll show myself out.)
  5. I just hope he doesn't get thrown out before he reaches the waiver wire. (I'll show myself out.)
  6. Please leave our sport alone and go away Mr. Tebow. Thank you. Good day.
  7. I agree. And it will not be Yohander Mendez.
  8. Lol. The Milwaukee Brewers already traded Jed Bradley to the Atlanta Braves for "cash". Without knowing the amount, I'm still not willing to trade said amount of "cash" for Yasiel Puig.
  9. The Mets can trip over a blade of grass and let a chicken kick them in the head!
  10. I still think it's Matuella. The Brewers could simply want to see updated medicals on him in a few months to see how his injury is progressing. If it's not something they are not comfortable with at that time, they could simply pick someone else from the list provided by the Rangers. I'm hoping it's Leodys Taveras, but I don't understand why they'd need to wait on him if he was being offered.
  11. My guess is it's Michael Matuella. Since he's returning from injury it seems logical. Plus it could be argued that he has a higher ceiling than Ortiz.
  12. At some point in the next few years if Ryan Braun remains a Brewer, he will be blocking the development of our future outfielders. Since Steans is collecting toolsy centerfielders without much power at an alarming rate, they will have to play somewhere. Ranking and age of Brewers OF prospects MLB Domingo Santana Minors 1. OF Lewis Brinson, Age 22 2. OF Corey Ray, Age 21 3. OF Trent Clark, Age 19 4. OF Brett Phillips, Age 22 5. OF Monte Harrison, Age 20 6. OF Demi Orimoloye, Age 19 7. OF Clint Coulter, Age 23 8. OF Tyrone Taylor, Age 22 9. OF Michael Reed, Age 23 10. OF Kyle Wren, Age 25 Interesting....is there anyone on this list that can't play CF besides Clint Coulter? IMO, the Brewers will need to do one of two things: A. Trade Carter by end of next season and move Braun to 1B. B. Trade Braun and his contract as soon as you can get something of value in return. Thoughts?
  13. Total PR move. Isn't adding Andrew Susac to the Brew Crew exciting enough? lol
  14. I think we actually got as much for Will friggin Smith as we did for Lucroy and Jeffress combined!!! In fact, I'd take Bickford first out of the 4 prospects acquired today.
  15. Getting something in return for Braun was just a pipe dream...
  16. LOVED THIS POST!!!! I want my puppy dogs and sunshine dammit!!! How about: C Jonathan Lucroy LHP Will Smith RHP Junior Guerra Puppy Dog (they can HAVE Hank the dog) for 3B Joey Gallo RHP Yohander Mendez RHP Pedro Payano SS Yenson Yrizarri Sunshine (we'll swap Wisconsin February for Texas February) Who says no?
  17. Question for Brewers fans??? Would you have traded Ryan Braun to the Dodgers like the Padres did with Kemp just for salary relief? If Braun's production tails off, not only will we be saddled with his contract like the Reds have been with Brandon Phillips, but we also won't get anything in return for him.
  18. Total guess: Rangers are still trying to land LHP Matt Moore from the Rays (or possibly even Odorizzi) as priority #1. If they can do that, they turn and settle for trading a low-level prospect for Padres C Derek Norris as priority #2. If they fail at that in the next few hours, they go after Lucroy, Will Smith (or possibly Jeffress), and Junior Guerra for a package that is headlined by Joey Gallo. Brewers have to root for a team like the Cubs to offer more for LHP Matt Moore and beat out the Rangers for him. Otherwise Lucroy could be boarding a plane to join the Brewers in San Diego tonight.
  19. And it's quite obvious that one team really wants Braun. At least not enough to give up ANYTHING of value.
  20. So a catcher prospect who has a chance to be very good is significantly worse than a Comp Pick? It's about equal value but we will get more value for Lucroy if we trade him ... 1. to another team before tomorrow. 2. During the offseason 3. Next trade deadline 4. year and a half of Lucroy and comp pick.
  21. This is good news. I would rather keep Lucroy for next year and a half and take the Comp Pick then take the crap package the Indians offered anyway.
  22. Carter Capps is also a nice piece to this deal and a MAJOR OVERPAY for 2 mediocre SP by the desperate Marlins. I guess they want to "go for it" before Jose Fernandez hits FA.
