  1. Which is why I find it hilarious when many posters blindly demand one of Zimmer/Frazier and are upset at the return when none of them were included in the previous Indians package.
  2. Indians can't be serious in their catching situation, can they? I could see them doing something to get Luc again but I can't wrap my mind around what. Wonder if a money bonus would do it for that second year.
  3. Hate to rain on your parade but Zimmer was never traded. Clint Frazier was.
  4. Okay. Rosenthal just tweeted Rangers haven't had contact with Brewers on Luc since last night. Possible another team (HOU? DET?) is jumping into mix. Hmm. Also says to me that Rangers are still actively poking around on our pitching.
  5. A man can dream, can't he? Jeffress to the Indians for Mejia and Cheng/McKenzie The more I think about losing Mejia the more I want him somehow, someway in our system.
  6. Which goes to show you..That prospects aren't jack..I will bet you anything that this "rebuild" won't even start for 5 more years...What I find interesting is that some of you that are slamming acquiring "major league ready" talent, are also advocating for Derek Norris. I'd like that move, but you can't have it both ways. Troll level on infinity, Eugene. For as close as you appear to be with Haudricourt on Twitter it's sounding more and more like you don't know what's going on in Milwaukee, or more specifically, throughout their minor league teams.
  7. Hold that thought, we have to explain again to BrewCrew07 why a potential Gallo deal could have too many risks involved. In a couple hours we'll get back to this once he finally starts to get that Gallo isn't a sure fire prospect.
  8. This would be more like it to me. Definitely makes me more in favor of one of these moves. I'm not interested in Gallo and I don't value Brinson as the same value as a main centerpiece, eating up most of that value.
  9. Looking at the market would a fair return for Luc and Guerra to Texas be Brinson, Taveras, Guzman, Jurado, and maybe a low level guy? I'd definitely be more comfortable with a package like this over centerpiece Gallo and Ortiz.
  10. I don't know why but I'm not interested at all in dealing with the Rangers, that's just my hunch. I was way more excited to pick from the Indians players than I am any package offered by Texas. Gallo doesn't do it for me, and even if he bats to his peak of .250 I think that isn't the centerpiece that I'd want back for Luc alone, let alone Jeffress and Nelson along with it. I do like Brinson but moving up to AA he hasn't really been the player everyone was expecting. Hope I'm wrong though. In Stearns I trust.
  11. No, Eugene, that Ivy League 30 year old MLB General Manager just doesn't get it.
  12. Hi hello say the Rangers: Rosenthal says they're strongly in the mix for Lucroy. May be looking to package a reliever with him.

  14. For the life of me, I don't understand this mindset to somehow punish Luc. First, the Brewers included the NTC in the contract. They knew it was there, and it's there for a reason. Secondly, he likely has 1 solid contract in his career, and trying to get to that contract sooner is exactly what he should be thinking about. And lastly, at some point if you do want to get something of value for him, sending him down to AAA or sitting him only hurts the Brewers. You're still paying him, you get nothing from him, and you're further eroding what you can get. I understand emotional responses, but some of these are just short sighted and silly. This is wisdom from Fido McCokefiend--who sports a paint huffing avatar Quoted by someone with the name OXY
  15. If a GM knows that a player has veto rights, the GM should talk to the player before making any deal. He should of known that before getting on the phone with any team. It's a business, talk to your employee. He has a contract with the Brewers not anyone else. I agree with you on this 100%, it makes Stearns look bad. What a wast of time too. If he makes a deal with a non veto team then so be it, Lucroy has no say. For all we know Stearns did approach Lucroy last week and told him the Indians were a big player for him and asked if he'd approve a trade. He says yes and all is fine and dandy. Last night he is notified by the Indians that they plan to use him every day next year but not necessarily as their starting catcher. Then he rethinks his decision. Long story short, we never know how these negotiations went, but we do know Luc's final decision regarding the matter.
  16. What a depression set of threads these are now. I can't even muster up the strength the talk about other interested teams.
  17. Crazy. What are the Indians thinking not letting him catch in 2017? Can't blame Luc. Can definitely see why in that case why he wanted his option thrown out the window.
  18. Luc wanted the club option ripped up essentially from the Indians side, making him a free agent after this season. Hmm. No wonder it didn't happen.
  19. Here's some fun: Only tweeted "Effort to convince Lucroy to change his mind and accept CLE trade will continue."
  20. I'll address it now, again. What happens if he gets hurt after the deadline, or hits .265 here on out, or the offers in the offseason aren't as significant because it's only a year of control, or teams would rather sign Wilson Ramos/Matt Wieters than package together a bundle of prospects? With the Indians off the board which team is going to step up and unload the appropriate prospects to satisfy you? Not dealing him is an extreme risk. To be upset at every deal Stearns has done is hilarious. Once again, it seems as if no matter what the return the internet troll in you comes out and bashes it. Name calling aside, and quite classy, btw, we had 70 pages of wish lists for Luc and I'd challenge you to find one that was as light as this one. Mejia we all like. No question. Allen is a 23 year old just starting AA and his skill set is very redundant. Chang. Whatever. Another middle infielder which is the one area we have covered. But please continue with the name calling. Never called you a name. If "trolling" is your definition of that, I guess we'll agree to disagree. If it offended you I apologize, but to hate each move including those which are currently paying dividends on the Major League field not including all the minor league moves made on a wait and see basis is a little silly to me. I don't know how you can not like what Stearns has done in finding Guerra and Villar for almost nothing, as well as the numerous other prospects I listed in my other post. Not to mention his draft and international spending.

  22. Per Haudricort, Luc veto'd the trade. Wow.
  23. Man, any second Hauricourt should be tweeting the Brewers are talking to the Indians involving catcher Johnathan Lucroy.
  24. And what happens if Luc gets injured or hits .265 from here on out with us? Then trading him in the offseason for a better package isn't that easy. Plus with free agent catchers like Wilson Ramos and Matt Wieters available so teams won't have to part with their minor league talent. Easy to say he'd fetch a better haul then but that's pure speculation in a perfect world.
