  1. I would have liked to get Cuthbert as well. He's been one of my favorite under-the-radar prospects for a few years now.
  2. Looks like Jurickson Profar might have a little cameo while Odor is suspended. Give me a Lucroy for Profar and two of Ariel Jurado/Ronald Guzman/Pedro Payano trade by the end of June.
  3. I like the Ball and Glove with the current colors. They need to use the barley to underline "Milwaukee" and Brewers" on the jerseys though.
  4. Please give me Profar. I wouldn't trade Maldonado for Gallo... Okay, I would for the tiniest of chances that Gallo learns how to hit pitches that he swings at. But I definitely would not trade anything of value for Gallo since I think it's almost a sure thing that he will never hit major league pitching.
  5. 1. Orlando Arcia 2. Trent Clark 3. Jorge Lopez 4. Josh Hader 5. Brett Phillips 6. Gilbert Lara 7. Isan Diaz 8. Cody Ponce 9. Jacob Nottingham 10. Kodi Medeiros 11. Zach Davies 12. Clint Coulter 13. Jake Gatewood 14. Nathan Kirby 15. Demi Orimoloye 16. Marcos Diplan 17. Monte Harrison 18. Devin Williams 19. Adrian Houser 20. Tyrone Taylor 21. Javier Betancourt 22. Rymer Liriano 23. Michael Reed 24. Victor Roache 25. Taylor Williams 26. Garin Cecchini 27. Nash Walters 28. Ramon Flores 29. Miguel Diaz 30. Jose Cuas
  6. To clarify, I didn't mean that Austin Hedges would be the Brewers catcher right when Lucroy leaves. Just that he's a guy I'd like in the system -- either in AAA to get at bats or as a young, defensive-minded reserve in the majors with the possibility of developing into more. With the Padres' acquisition of Bethancourt, it seemed that Hedges could be had for cheap.
  7. I'd like to take a shot on Austin Hedges from San Diego. They traded for Christian Bethancourt to handle the backup catching duties behind Norris so it appears that Hedges would be available. I know he hasn't hit mucch (he did have a nice small-sample showing in AAA last year) but he's only 23 and one of the best all-around defensive catchers there is.
  8. Yes. Outside of one of Profar/Mazara/Brinson/Tate for the main piece (I'd prefer Profar), Ariel Jurado is THE 2nd piece I need. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Rangers' Top 5 at mid-season. He seems like the kind of pitcher Stearns likes too: 90-93mph sinker, nice curve and change, great control/command for a 20-year old. I could go for a Pedro Payano (RHP) throw-in as the 3rd piece too.
  9. First, Joey Gallo is not a third baseman. Not a good one anyway. He'll almost surely be a corner outfielder because teams will want to use his arm at a position other than first base. Second, Joey Gallo will not be able to hit major league pitching with any consistency. The problem isn't all his approach as he's shown the ability to work counts and take walks. The problem is he has an incredibly difficult time making contact with pitches in the zone when he swings at them. I hate to hate on the guy but I just see him as the most overvalued "top" prospect in the game and I'm really hoping the Brewers stay away. And, trading for a position of need right now is exactly the type of thing I hope we shy away from. A lot of good third basemen are former shortstops who either outgrow the position or hit enough to move over for another shortstop in the system.
  10. I'd been wanting this guy to defect since watching him in the World Baseball Classic when he was a young, multi-position infielder with a big bat. That was like 10 years ago. Hopefully he has a few more good years in him.
  11. I don't want anything to do with Gallo. The only way I wouldn't be disappointed in acquiring him is if we flipped him to another team who values him more. We already had a Russell Branyan, we don't need another. Since Mazara appears to be off the table, I'm really hoping for one of Jurickson Profar or Lewis Brinson to be part of the package (or both as the whole package if that could be worked out). It will be a waste of a good trade chip if Gallo is the get. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Jairo Beras as a lower-level piece either.
  12. I really want a Rangers trade to happen. And I'd love for a package to come together that nets Jurickson Profar as part of the trade but not the centerpiece. This is a perfect time to take a chance on him fulfilling his promise as his value will never be lower (unless he gets injured again and it will be almost nothing). If he plays well in Spring, his price will go up tremendously. Mazara and Brinson would both be nice but I'm not sure what kind of package would be needed to get one of them and Profar. I agree with you about the Angels. There is not one player in their system I have the slightest interest in. That's gotta be the worst farm in baseball.
  13. I do not want Joey Branyan, err, Gallo. I think Nomar Mazara is clearly the best prospect in the Rangers system so he would be my preference of a centerpiece. Also, if there was ever a time to trade for Jurickson Profar, it's now. His value will never be lower -- unless he just can't stay healthy anymore -- but if he plays well in the Spring, his value will skyrocket. I'd love to take a shot at him now and take the chance he fulfills at least some, or most, of his promise. What would it take to get both of these guys? Lucroy + Will Smith with whatever fill-ins/low level prospects would be needed from either side to make it work?
  14. the only thing right now I'd feel good about gettin in a Prince deal is Jason Heyward... and that's not gonna happen
  15. bump. Let's get this kid. The Angels don't seem willing to give him everyday duties. And I'll bet everything I have he hits .320+ with 15-20 HR each season for the next handful given a full time gig. While we're at it, I'd like to snag Hank Conger as well. I know Milwaukee has a couple catchers but the more the merrier... and I just love that name for a catcher.
  16. I just heard that the Rays are looking to move Kazmir to free up some room to make a move. I think he'd be a nice fit in Milwaukee. He's always had good stuff and has gone through a few inconsistancies but a move to the NL would be good for him. The Brewers could also use a live lefty arm
  17. I have Cabrera, Granderson, and Fielder on my fantasy team. that's 6-8 with 3 HR and a ton of RBI
  18. With the Angels confidence in Kendrick down, I'm thinking a nice month by the replacement (Rodriquez) would make Kendrick expendable. I know the guy can, and will, hit well again. He could take over at second (with a sprinkle of third possibly) for the rest of this season and maybe allow Weeks to move to center at some point in the future.
  19. I'd take Prior. I think he'll turn it around and be the pitcher e was supposed to be sans the handful of years he already missed because of injury.
  20. i think brad nelson will be a brian daubach type player a few years from now. albeit for only a couple seasons, it'd be nice to see.
  21. Why don't we try to make a move for Lastings Milledge? ... and after reading the Baldelli trade idea. if we are dealing with TB, there are quite a few players in the upper minors who I think could be had for not too high a price: Elijah Dukes (I've heard some people say he was a bad influence on Delmon Young so I'm sure they'll be willing to trade), Wes Bankston, Reid Brignac, etc. School me. Edit: Please make Subjects specific...
  22. I, personally, would love to have Marcus Giles in Milwaukee. I've always been a fan of him so maybe that is clouding my judgement but I would think he'd add a lot to the lineup and wouldn't cost as much to resign as people think.
  23. correcting myself here: I meant to say Overbay already has two errors in his first game as a Blue Jay. (they are playing the Twins)
