  1. Com'on Bow...need that K right here. Crush the Cub's will!
  2. Still a stupid low% play that will get you beat more than it wins. If CC wasn't so gritty Yost might have gotten fired tomorrow.
  3. Are we letting Gross hit again?!?
  4. About 30% I'd guess...isn't Mench a .300ish hitter against LHP's?
  5. Nice work by Wise there BTW...that is what high leverage relievers do...
  6. *Sigh* Yost http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif Spurling http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  7. Was that supposed to be in blue? 1st and 2nd with 1 out in the 6th? Is there a better time to use a PH? I can't think of too many.
  8. Wow...Ned made a questionable call...stop the presses! I swear he was asleep on the bench and Sveum forgot to wake him up until after 2 lefties hit against a LH. I just don't get what he was thinking there. Either Gabe's parents were in the stands or...that's all I got. Makes absolutely no sense not to use Mench/Hart and Graffy there. Maybe he's saving them so they're not tired later in the year? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  9. You really think that Aquino is so much more effective a defensive player than Matt Wise that it mitigates the fact that he struggles to throw strikes? I'm not buying that bridge... If that's the case I've got some nice "lake access" property I'd like to sell you.
  10. If this were true then Aquino should have started the inning with no men on. Why run Wise out there, have him give up a bunt single, and them pull him before a hitter that's up there to do nothing but bunt? He's not so fragile that 2/3 more pitches would have killed him. That's all it would have taken to let the next batter sac bunt. Instead Ned brings in Aquino for his "better defense", who promptly walks the batter who is attempting to bunt on 4 straight pitches. Nice...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  11. Already did... Let Matt Wise pitch to the guy who was going to bunt 100%. Your suggestion that he was "at his pitch limit" is laughable. Why have him start the inning? Not to mention Ned explained his removal for Aquino as being for "defensive reasons"...you seem to completely ignore this point. Now with a runner on 2nd base and 1 out go and get T-Bow or Cordero...both were available...Yost used neither but chose Aquino instead. The fact the T-bow was a little tired was a direct result of a poor decision the day before (4 run lead remember). Why have 2 long men if you're going to treat 1 of them like a 1 inning guy? Bad choice...we lost the game. It's certainly not baseless criticism and shows more logic than your "defense" of Yost. My main criticism with Yost is his inconsistency in the way he uses his bullpen. He did the right thing in letting Bush start the 9th yesterday...rest the pen when you can. Problem is he did the exact opposite 3 days prior.
  12. Anderson was the HS pitcher who was most ready to pitch in pro ball. By that I mean he's so polished and has such good command that he's going to have a lot of success right away. When you can get a guy like that in round 2 you should jump all over him IMO. The Brewers chose to go with the very raw but athletic guy in Brent Brewer. I hope it doesn't come back to bite them.
  13. Wow...that's the biggest copout/ rationalization of the week?you win the weekly Yost apologist award! #1- No reason you don't let Wise pitch to the guy who was going to surely sacrifice bunt. Now you have 1 out runner on 2B. Go get T-bow or Cordero. Oh that's right Yost already used them the day before in a game we had a freaking 4 run lead in...Whoops. Seriously though, yesterday was beyond the call of duty of the Ned Yost bullpen mismanaging train. Simply the worst I've seen from Ned in the last few years. (And that's saying a lot considering the library of Ned's sucktitude)
  14. Wow...that was mostly me ranting but...Wow. It wasn't me I swear.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. I heard that too. ??? Ned's gotten so bad he doesn't even have plausible excuses. That was absolutely indefensible even for the Ned apologists. Why not let Wise throw to the guy who was 100% going to bunt? Then go get your closer to get the last 2 outs...or Turnbow...or Villy...or Shouse. And to those who say Turnbow or Cordero wasn't available...that's Ned's fault too. Turnbow had no business being in that game yesterday. You're up 4 and have your long man (Villy) in the damn game...leave him in to finish up. You don't need that 5th run...he shouldn't have pinch hit for him. Otherwise what's the flipping point of having 2 long relievers? Anyone want to sponsor www.firenedyost.com ? I know I've got a new signature for the rest of the year: Ned Yost: turning wins into losses...
  16. Yeah but he was hitting the ball on the screws just right at people. Sometimes you just need to get a few to fall.
  17. Well he got the 1B...just needs the 3 bagger for the Harley
  18. Now JJ...the hottest Brewer of all 3B?
