  1. hopefully he gets called up soon, at the same time Manny Parra gets called up to Nashville.
  2. wasnt there talk of him possibly making the big league club out of spring?
  3. As for televising the actual process (as someone posted in the other thread) that would be quite dull because you'd have to sit through umpteen re-draws as a team's pingpong ball pops up for the umpteenth time after they've already been slotted thats not how it works. they dont put a whole bunch of ping pong balls in with team names on there and keep having to pick again if they pick the same team. it works some way with 4 digit combinations on the balls and each team being given a combination
  4. what if the system went like this. the teams that dont make the playoffs are in the lotterty, as it is now. But then best of those teams gets the best chance at number one and the worst team gets the lowest chance of all the lottery teams. That way a team will have to play well in order to improve their chances, and might just play their way into the playoffs.
  5. my only thing is this.....i am not a conspiracy theorist, but now i know how it works, why cant they jsut show it live as the ping pong balls come out?
  6. Trade the #1 pick from two years ago for the 12th pick in the draft. That logic doesnt make any sense. In this draft, Andrew Bogut would be lucky to go top 5. Who cares if he was the #1 pick. Michael Olawakandi was the #1 pick once. Having said that, a lot of people have pretty much already defended what i said the same way I am about to here, but i want to reiterate. I am certainly not advocating trading Bogut. I only say trade him IF we take Oden because I see absolutely no way Bogut and Oden play together. whichever one plays 4 will get beaten constantly by smaller, faster power forwards. If you can get higher than 12, of course do it. I only mentioned Philly because they may be more willing to part with a first rounder since they have 3 of them. I personally would take Durant at #1 because i think hes going to end up being the better player, but we arent going to do that. Who knows, maybe we'll get the #6 pick and this whole conversation will be moot. Thats the fun of the draft lottery i guess. Heres one other thought to debate. If the Bucks get #2, would you be willing to trade it? Oden/Durant are far and away the two best players, so perhaps you could pull a San Diego Charger-esk trade, and get a fortune in return. Maybe a later first rounder this year, and first rounders the next 2 seasons? Could it be worth it?
  7. I would love to add Mike Conley. I dont think there is any hate for Mo, but he is a free agent so there's no guarentee he'll be back. If they somehow get Oden, perhaps they could trade Bogut to a team like Philly for the #12 pick, since Philly has 3 first rounders, then draft a guy like like Conley. Conley to me seems like a guy who would be very solid and dependable. A pass first PG who could eventually turn into a Mike Bibby type player at 15 points, 7 assists a game. If he's not around maybe a Julian Wright or Al Thornton to shore up the front court. If they dont get Oden and stay at 3, maybe they could trade down with Portland and the #6 pick (assuming they also stay put), and then maybe swap second rounders with the Bucks picking up #37 overall and Portland getting #56 overall. In this case, the Bucks could maybe grab Corey Brewer or Roy Hibbert and #6 and then a guy like Nick Fazekus or Sean Williams from BC at #37. Adding Brewer and Williams could really help defensively. On a side note, in my opinion, talking about the NBA draft is far more exciting for local fans than the NFL draft, because Ted Thompson seems to always come up with some pick out of the middle of nowhere, whereas the Bucks seem to grab a guy that all of us are actually rooting for.
  8. Thet are not alike at all they are both centers. Bogut has already made it clear he has no intention of playing power forward, so unless Oden does, they cant play together
  9. so lets say they get number 1. what do you think they could trade Bogut for? You think they get another top 10 pick for him, then draft a guy like Julian Wright? After seeing Bogut and Maglore fail miserably, I just cant see Oden and Bogut playing together.
  10. That's a pretty pessimistic attitude. i dont think its a pessimistic attitude, i think its the truth. We all know Gallardo is going to be good, but we dont know hes going to be good right away. Everyone thought Alex Gordon would be killing MLB pitching but he hasnt done anything. Lets hold onto Vargas until he stops pitching as well as he is. You couldnt ask for anything better from a 5th starter. We are 6-0 in his starts so why trade him? not to mention, what happens if a starter or two goes down? if we trade vargas we are two injuries away from having elmer dessens starting games.
  11. I was wondering when Lou Palmisano and Manny Parra would be considered for promotions to Nashville. Palmisano is tearing it up at the plate and Manny Parra has been solid all season and if he succeeds in Nashville could be considered as a LOOGY later this season possibly
  12. his postseason experience could also come in handy. Lets not overlook that. If we dont have to give away an arm and a leg to get him, I'd be all for it, especially if we could offer him arby and get some picks after he walks
  13. i actualyl already found a buyer...sorry....but i might be going to a lot of these friday games so if you're interested in all the blue ones, i can let you know if i get anymore
  14. PrinceFielder28 i have a blue cooper i will sell to you if you thought $30 was too expensive....or anyone else for that matter
  15. im a little worried about those 5-8 guys....3 high schoolers of the 4 right about where the Brewers pick. C'mon Jack.....anything but a high school pitcher
  16. And if you're worried about carrying two pitchers with health concerns, we have some depth in Villanueva, Gallardo, Jackson and Parra Dont forget about Mark Rogers and Jeremy Jeffress;)
  17. i like that idea, but isnt Cleveland in first place right now? As long as we dont give up Braun, Inman, or Gallardo, im for it
  18. theres a chance he could be up this year, if he keeps hitting like he has. with no real backup to Fielder and Nelson back at first, I wouldnt be surprised to see a september callup
  19. if he was called up who got sent down?
  20. I dont have the trade our best players for prospect mentality. In cases like Carlos Lee, though, it became fairly obvious he wasnt going to re-sign, so rather than letting him go for 2 extra picks, we traded him. Sheets' value is probably twice that of Lee's was, so think about the return we could get for him, especially if a team is desperate. If he expresses a willingness to re-sign and we can afford him, I am all for that. But we cant rule out the possibility of doing it just so we dont come off as a development team.
  21. We need to be a contender first before we start making astute trades with the future in mind. i dont think trading Greg Vaugh for Mark Nuefield, Ron Villone and Bryce Florie counts as trading for the future. I think we've done some poor jobs with trading for "prospects", especially with Taylor and Bando. it takes a lot of time to completely turn around an MLB francise, not like in football where 2 good drafts can do it for you. player development takes 4 times as long, and lets face it, financing isnt exactly geared towards small market teams like it is in football and basketball. so as far as sheets goes, if it is let him go or trade him for prospects, the responsible thing to do is trade him. you can get some really good prospects for him, which could hopefully turn into 2 more ben sheets in a few years.
  22. I dont think the idea should be completely ruled out. Right now we have 5 solid starters, with Villanueva able to fill in now and Gallardo to fill in after that. Both look capable of being able to succeed, and cannot be fairly compared to Hendrickson. Its a good possibility Will Inman will be in Huntsville by the end of the year, meaning hes only currently 2 to 3 years away. Lets face it, after Braun, Inman, and Gallardo, we arent exactly loaded with stud prospects. The Marlins have shown what kind of talent a good major leaguer can bring in. I bet we could get 3 really good prospects for Sheets, including 2 pitchers, if we trade him at the end of the season. Next seasons rotation could be something like Cappy, Suppan, Bush, Gallardo and Villanueva. Vargas as the long man, with 2 new pitching prospects at Nashville
  23. oh my....i glanced at them real quick before and thought the face was $18, so i thought i was selling them for under. the face is $13 each, so what...$20 total for 2...anyone interested?
