  1. The Brewers may have considered him a throw in, but many were pretty upset to lose him before he got a chance in Milwaukee. Of course, just because he got sent down now doesn't mean he won't have a successful big league career.
  2. Cesar Izturis? You walk Cesar Izturis?
  3. Oh man. Please don't make this too interesting...?
  4. Didn't Damian Miller do it last year? It was on La Crosse Day.
  5. I'll say Torres, but don't care much either way.
  6. Ha, Tony just missed that. I couldn't believe it when Ludwick kept backing up.
  7. Yeah, we definitely agree on that play.
  8. Is this officially a Hardy sighting?
  9. Yep, but again, that's assuming a sac bunt is a sure thing. Suppan getting the bunt down in the first place is far from a guarantee. At this point I'm guessing we'll have to agree to disagree. I've never liked sac bunting with a runner already in scoring position.
  10. Clearly. But you won't get Hardy thrown out if he swings away, and you won't get an RBI if you bunt.
  11. That's as good as you can bunt, and it still isn't a hit. Gross.
  12. The thing that bothers me about sac bunts is that when people argue for them, they act as though a sac bunt is guaranteed to advance a runner. Bunts can be missed, popped up, hit too hard, etc. Neither bunting nor swinging away is a sure thing, so why not take a shot? Edit: Hey, Suppan settling down!
  13. Letting him swing away at least guarantees you won't get your lead runner thrown out, and with Hardy running that's a big concern for me. Suppan has a decent chance of grounding out to the right side anyway, and small chance of getting a hit.
  14. One out with a guy on third is less likely to score a run than no outs and a guy on second. A sac bunt isn't a guarantee to work, it has a decent chance of getting the runner gunned out at third. Why not let one of your better hitting pitchers take a shot at a single?
  15. BA surprised Suppan isn't bunting with a runner on second. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  16. Hooray for opponents using small ball!
  17. Anyone else think they might have had Kennedy? Can't complain with the results. Apparently Bill disagrees with me.
  18. And a great approach by that prototypical leadoff hitter. The guy walked the bases loaded, and you ground out to the pitcher on the first pitch.
  19. I'm not a fan of Gwynn's offense, and I don't have any problem with guys taking home run cuts. That doesn't go hand-in-hand with plate discipline, as I think everyone realizes the Brewers plate discipline in general has been awful this year.
  20. I think that makes sense. The Rockies are the one exception that I thought of. My main issue was with the premise that one exciting/impressive win should trigger a winning stretch of games.
