  1. I don't think a package led by Rosario would be fantastic at all. He's an Arcia clone. Why do the Brewers need two? I know you say best player available, but that's more of a draft mantra. Why use your best trade asset to acquire a player who plays the least needed position in your entire system?
  2. Time for Boston or Cleveland to swoop in. Please.
  3. That would be pretty disappointing. No pitching, wasting value on TDA, and best prospect in the deal doesn't fill a hole.
  4. If TDA is part of this deal, I will be furious.
  5. Pretty strong disagree here. Braun has a 2.2 WAR this year. Puig has a 0.3. Sure contract comes into play, but not enough to make teams want a bad player over a good one.
  6. He does still have five years left though, but he'd basically eat up most, if not all of Lucroy's trade value. I'm sure they'd prefer to get multiple players instead.
  7. Man, the Mets and Tigers just do not have nearly the appeal as the other teams who have been interested. I'm not sure why the Brewers are still talking to the Mets. D'Arnaud should incite zero interest from Milwaukee.
  8. From Cleveland, I'd want McKenzie as much as anyone else they have. I'd be disappointed if Lucroy went to Cleveland and McKenzie wasn't part of the package.
  9. But how can they have a big piece on the table when Sandy Alderson said they were asking for too much??
  10. Also, I'm about to the point where I don't want Lucroy playing anymore until he's traded, mainly for my own nerves.
  11. A #mysteryteam you guys! I feel so alive!
  12. Yeah, even if the Cubs do sign Chapman to an extension, it doesn't mean it was because of that trade. They could have just as easily signed him this off-season.
  13. Yes, I am fine leaving Frazier and Zimmer. McKenzie, Mejia, and two other younger kids for Lucroy. Works just fine for me. Would be an exciting influx of talent.
  14. Those were with two different front offices. The only common denominator there is Alderson.
  15. Exactly. The point isn't that they shouldn't have traded Torres, the point is they should have traded him for something more impactful than a reliever. He could have headlined a deal for Matt Moore or even Chris Sale.
  16. Wishful thinking on your part. What future did they mortgage? Their current SS is 22. They also still have Baez who's 23. McKinney's doesn't project to be a core player if he makes any impact whatsoever at the big league level. Warren's 4-5 starter material that can't crack their present rotation. Crawford's just a warm body. They have plenty of money to fill in any gaps. Continue to mortgage the future. Are you implying trading Vogelbach was mortgaging the future? Rizzo's under control through 2021. Even if they wanted to keep Vogelbach, he will have exhausted all his minor league options long before Rizzo would be gone. I think the Cubs got off light here. I'm not saying they shouldn't have traded their number one prospect. They're in win-now mode, so that's what you do. I'm saying they should have used him for someone who would give them more than 40 innings for the rest of the season and postseason combined. They could have used this package to get a more impactful player than a closer for 2-3 months. You seem the hate every Brewers move and love every Cubs move. Why aren't you a Cubs fan?
  17. This is great. Hopefully the Cubs continue to mortgage their future for a WS shot this year.
  18. The Mets' front office continues to be a joke.
  19. I don't even understand why D'Arnaud would even be considered by the Brewers? Even as a secondary piece. Why would they eat up some of Lucroy's value with multi-concussed 27 year-old catcher with only three years of control left?
  20. This is probably the type of creativity it would take to pull off a Braun trade. I'd either add more with Braun to get a good prospect or two back with Puig (and then try to flip Puig), or try to work a three team trade with Puig going elsewhere.
  21. I know he's quite old for a prospect, but those are some impressive numbers, particularly the k/bb ratio. Might as well bring him up soon.
  22. I am also baffled by the continued love of Jimmy Nelson. His k rate, bb rate, and hr/fly ball rate are all well below average. He's been basically a number 5 starter this year who has destroyed his trade value.
  23. If they pass up Puk and Groome to pick Ray.... http://gifsec.com/wp-content/uploads/GIF/2014/03/Reaction-GIF-Angry.gif
  24. I could say the same thing about Corey Ray. I do not understand how they could be considering him with the other players who will be available. I am going crazy with all these reports linking him to the Brewers at 5. Why take an outfielder without star potential when they have 6-8 of those in their system already?
  25. Crazy that they could have a choice between Puk and Groome. Rutherford and Lowe are exciting, but I don't see how they could choose one of those two with both of those pitchers available.
