  1. I agree 100%. This is professional baseball. All are professionals from the grounds crew, to the umps, and to the front office. You act as a professional at this level. Not some kid playing fantasy baseball or some video game.
  2. Here's how bad the catching situation is in Cleveland. The Indians just pinch hit Almonte for Gimenez in the bottom of the 7th with 2 runners on. This is 3rd time I have seen the Indians pinch hit for their catcher in the last 2 weeks. The Indians have no faith in their catchers whatsoever. Cleveland HAS to be hard up for Lucroy.
  3. Now if Jr. can pitch a lights out game tonight and then package him with Lucroy and a reliever of Smith or Jeffress. You should be able to request almost anything you would want.
  4. Cleveland's and Detroit's starting catchers tonight are both 1 bat away from hitting under the Mendoza line for the year.
  5. Gallo's don't win world series. Gallo's of the world go .085 in playoffs when the pitching is at it's best. Give me a 5 or 4 tool player who can hit for a scenario of given situations.
  6. We already have a Gallo. It's called Chris Carter.
  7. On a side note. Every Detroit Tiger has a hit tonight EXCEPT their catcher!!!!
  8. Like I said earlier, sitting him will make teams think that he is hurt. Also, it's telling teams that we are weak. That we want something for Lucroy so bad, that we are willing to pull him for a whole weekend series so he doesn't get hurt. So give us any offer and we will take it. Instead, play him like he's a Brewer forever. And send the message that if you don't pay up........he stays.
  9. Because if he doesn't start, teams will think that he is "hurt".
  10. T. Walker is not a Stearns type as he has already burned up some service time.
  11. I'd take Reid-Foley or Harris straight up for Smith in a heartbeat. I like Pentecost a lot as well, but he's barely caught this year - mostly just DH'd while he comes back from last year's surgery. I'd have to feel pretty comfortable that he could catch down the road because while I really like his bat, I don't know if it sticks at 1B. I really liked Pentecost coming out of college, so perhaps there's a bias in my perception of him at this time. Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Reid Foley or Harris and Vlad Jr.
  12. Me thinks the Mystery team is.............Seattle.
  13. So what happens when the Mets set up the trade with an awesome offer, include Will Smith. And then pull back at the last minute due to some made up B.S. that Will Smith has a lingering injury. And then the clock strikes 12. Meanwhile Cleveland had a Great offer on the table. For Some reason, I could see the Mets pulling this crap.
  14. I see desperate posters. And if these are the kind of packages that come along, you keep Lucroy. You don't just trade to trade. If your trading a dollar today, you need a buck fifty back tommorrow. Not 90 cents.
  15. Just because Burrows is listed at #1 on the top 30 list means nothing to me. Here is what I would need to pull off a trade from Detroit for Lucroy. 1. Joe Jimenez 2. Christian Stewart 3. Jose Azocar (A true centerfielder) 4. Gerson Moreno 5. Arvicent Perez (Great defensive Catcher with awesome arm strength) 6. Matt Hall 7. Paul Voelker Yes, Detroit would need to surrender 7 guys. Surefire's are absent in Detroit's farm.
  16. Strongly disagree, while no prospect is lighting it up statistically that doesn't mean there isn't a ton of potential. I see Hader as an ace and Arcia more as a defensive All star but short on the bat (reminds me of Indians SS Omar Vizquel). Lucas Erceg, also looks to be an all star in the making. I like the looks of Freddy Peralta and Ponce. I just don't see Phillips, Clark, Lara, Coulter, Medioros, Nottingham, Roach, Rijo being anything special. And these latter guys were high picks or high trades. I hope I'm wrong. But I would like to see another Hader type and a Moncada type to get really excited about the Brewers system. I'm even questioning the pick of Corey Ray.
  17. Smith just shat the bed tonight.
  18. Jeffress pitching in non save situation................ SHOWCASE. As they used to preach when I worked at Menards years ago. SELL, SELL SELL. AND he K's the GREAT GOLDSCHMIDT to end the GAME!!!! SELL SELL SELL
  19. Breaking News!!! Rangers no longer interested in Lucroy!!! Chirinos has gone 1 for 3 and now is hitting .200. Stay tuned for updates!!!
  20. The Mets should have to forfeit their first round pick next year for making such an asinine offer.
  21. Braun is just raking. Teams looking to make a WS push can't ignore his numbers. And this is coming from an anemic offense. I can't believe the Giants or Dodgers are pushing more for his services. As opposing pitching gets tougher in the playoffs and WS, this is the type of guy that can make that big difference. Matter of fact, it's the Jay Bruce type that will sport the .085 line in the playoffs but that's all you hear when it comes to available OF's. You will get what you pay for. Even as Braun ages he is not the protypical guy to slow down. He reminds me of an Edgar Martinez type. Just a pure hitter who knows how to hit. If I'm a GM, I would really push for Braun. The guy is no doubt a difference maker.
  22. Hate to play Debbie Downer here, but the Brewers farm is not as good as sports writers make it out to be. The Brewers still need an influx of talent all across the spectrum. The Brewers need to trade Lucroy soon. Ticket sales will not change whether he is here or not. Wins will be hardly affected. And quite frankly, I don't want anyone here especially if they don't want to be here. The biggest contribution Lucroy will make will be the value he brings back in a trade. However, I get the feeling Stearns is trying to pinch out every last penny/prospect he can get. And this will come right down to Monday's wire.
  23. Can I ask why you prefer the lower ceiling players in these two spots? Kaminsky is likely a BOR starter and Clevinger is most likely a MOR type guy while Aiken has ace potential, Bradley has middle of the order power bat potential and Hillman is a "get him before he blows up" type prospect. We have more than enough Kaminsky and Clevinger types in this system already. Honestly, I don't see any major difference is between Zach Davies and those two and we got Davies for 3 months of Gerardo Parra, not 1.5 years of Jonathan Lucroy. I mean, Kaminsky got traded straight up for Brandon Moss just last year. I agree. Give me Aiken, Sheffield, Mckenzie, Mejia, Hillman. And the choice of SS Chang OR SS Krieger and we give em Lucroy, Jeffress and choice of Kyle Wren or Victor Roache. They get to keep Zimmer and Frazier. Done Deal.
  24. The pitching is too good by the time you get to the playoffs. And it's the whole reason the Gallo types don't win world series.
  25. Ugghhhhh, slow day on MLB Rumors!!! Olney, Hardicourt, Rosenthal!!!!!!! Give us something. Anything!!!!!!! , If Lucroy is reading this, tell us what you know!!! Batboy, concession guy, janitor person, anyone!!!
